Name: Kibbe

Age: 24 in kenku years

Gender: Male

Pronouns: He/Him

Height: 5'3"

Species: Kenku

Sexuality: Bisexual {Slight Female Lean}

Appearance:

Personality:

Kibbe is often deemed very quiet. Yet he's always kind and considerate and affectionate. He's also brave, or about as brave as he can be depending on the situation. Kibbe is more than willing to take on the role of a hero, even if it means that he might be at risk of injury or even death. His mind is consumed by the idea of being like a hero, saving people from certain doom. But of course, Kibbe is still young and naive, and can be easily influenced by others.

His heroic mindset is influenced by his favorite books, most of which have the plot where a hero rescues a princess. These books have also influenced him towards finding 'love'. Kibbe desires a romantic relationship, but has never found that- as he's often deemed too odd, too hideous by humanoids. This leaves Kibbe as a hopeless romantic. He seeks romance, yet has never been provided such an opportunity due to his abnormal appearance.

Despite how others perceive Kibbe, he doesn't let it get him down. All he can hope for is that someday- someone will see him for who he is, rather than what he is. Of course, this sort of situation has yet to unfold. Many seem to judge him and despise him for what he is.

Kibbe is able to be influenced by others rather easily, which in turn can result in him becoming loyal to causes and individuals that he otherwise wouldn't be supportive of, all through the acts of lies and easy manipulation just to obtain his loyalty and servitude. Of course, when he realizes his mistakes, Kibbe is quick to try and amend things. Kibbe does have morals and tends to believe in doing the right thing. The only problem is that he doesn't always know what the right thing is, leading to incidents. He does recognize what a lot of wrong things are, though he fails to recognize when someone is doing something wrong to him. For example, the judgement towards his race shows his lacking awareness towards the fact that he's being racially discriminated.

As for Kibbe's abilities in combat, he seems to fare well in combat. Being a small and dark figure, it's often easy for him to move around swiftly, avoiding oncoming attacks from enemies. Most of his swift reactions are influenced by pure instinct, which makes sense considering his animalistic appearance. Instinct is what tends to keep him alive. Another thing that seems to be natural and instinctive to him is obedience. He is quick to obey those who are of higher status and those who are generally authoritative, with the exceptions being individuals who he knows do not deserve his respect, obedience, or loyalty. Even though someone may lack his respect, Kibbe finds it difficult at times to deny his natural sense to act in obedience to authoritative figures.

Likes:

Romance books and books which might contain a hero trope. Kibbe loves these kinds of books, and has taken inspiration from them- resulting in the way he acts now.

The idea of being in a romantic relationship. If you find yourself in a romantic relationship with Kibbe, he will cherish you and treat you like a god/goddess. He will consider himself lucky to be with you. He will do whatever it is you want, with little to no questions.

Dancing. Kibbe has always been curious about how dancing worked. He's never partaken in the activity himself- mostly because others choose to ignore him and never want to dance with him -but he would be more than willing to dance with someone, if given the opportunity to do so.

Being heroic. It makes him feel happy to go out of his way to help others, whether that be something as small as helping someone get something back, or something about as complex or as dangerous as fighting off a dragon to save someone.

Music. He loves listening to others play music, and will even occasionally hum such songs to himself later on.

Foods that Kibbe likes to eat would consist of loaves of bread, berries, nuts, cheese and the occasional piece of jerky or other meat. He doesn't usually treat himself to any fancy meals, but would eventually like to try some of these fancy foods someday.

Dislikes:

Alcoholic beverages. He specifically doesn't like solid alcoholic drinks, such as- beer or ale, for example. He will prefer more flavorful drinks, such as red wine. Anything that might have a more fruity flavor.

Tight fitting clothes. Kibbe tends to prefer wearing clothes that offer a lot of air flow- which usually consists of looser or baggy clothes.

Being judged for his race. Despite his ignorance of any judgement directed towards him- it still hurts to know that he is being judged anytime he shows himself. These negative thoughts are often forced to the back of his mind, but they always find a way to be brought back up.

His natural sense of obedience and instinctive loyalty to those of a higher power. This is a behavior that he developed and clung to when he was younger. Given that it's such natural behavior for him at this point, Kibbe has grown to dislike it, as he recognizes that not all authoritative figures deserve respect, let alone his obedience or loyalty.

Being winded. Kibbe has a hard time regaining his composure and breath whenever this happens, leaving him very easily exposed to any further attacks. Even more so, he doesn't like being pressed against the ground after being winded. That just makes it even more difficult for him.

Job(s):

While Kibbe does take on a heroic role and fights things, he does do other work when he isn't saving someone or killing something. He will do manual labor at a variety of places for the purpose of being paid. He can carry and move things, he can clean places, he can deliver messages- Kibbe can do a lot, so he does a lot in order to hopefully earn a lot.

Backstory:

Kibbe's childhood wasn't the greatest, though that sort of thing is expected for a kenku. What isn't expected is the conditions he was raised under. He had been handed over to a cruel lord as an infant, and would go on to live under the lord's roof as a personal servant to the lord. Of course, given that he was still a child, he didn't suffer any of the harsher punishments that he saw fellow servants endure. This didn't mean he was free of all punishment, it just meant that the methods used to punish Kibbe when young were less painful, less lethal for him. After all, his purpose was to serve the lord, and he wouldn't be doing that job right if he ended up dying. Under the lord's roof, Kibbe managed to learn how to read and write, mostly out of necessity. He was a quiet and loyal servant to his lord, Kibbe failed to see how cruel and sadistic his lord was.

But, eventually he would see what his lord actually was. One day, when Kibbe had turned to 15 in kenku years, Kibbe's lord was invited to meet with another lord, and his lord requested that he come along with. Kibbe obliged with his lord's request, never one to say no to his lord's suggestions. It had been along their journey via carriage that they'd stop in a village, and it was then that Kibbe's lord requested that Kibbe visit one of the shops in order to obtain some things. Kibbe obliged, found the shop, obtained the items, and stepped back outside with the items that his lord requested he purchase, only to find that his lord and the carriage were gone, leaving behind his little satchel of belongings on the side of the cobble road. Kibbe was confused, not knowing what was happening. He didn't know where his lord was heading, so Kibbe waited in that village for several days, until he finally figured that his lord must've returned home by that point. At least he knew the way back to his lord's residency.

It had been dark and rainy when Kibbe finally returned to his lord's estate. He knocked upon the entranceway door, and was met by none other than his lord, rather than the maid who usually answered the door. Kibbe knelt before his lord in an effort to plead for forgiveness. But, his lord hadn't been all too forgiving. His lord shouted at him, demanding that he leave the premise and never return, with the threat that he'd end Kibbe's life if he so stepped foot in the area once more. In fear, Kibbe hurried away from his lord's home. For a couple of weeks, he was unsure of what to do with himself, but eventually, he found himself a purpose. Kibbe held the deep desire to become a sort of adventurer, someone who would travel the lands and survive in the wilderness. So Kibbe finally decided to set off on an endless journey, spending the next few years of his life traveling around, exploring new areas and encountering new creatures, some of which he'd fight, others which he'd simply admire. He continues to travel nowadays, though he does occasionally stop and rest at inns now.

Abilities:

Unlike the average avian, Kibbe can't fly due to his lack of wings. He didn't have them removed- thankfully. He was just born without wings.

Kibbe cannot speak with his own voice. This is part of being a kenku. In order to speak, Kibbe will speak in voices which he might be copying, mimicking. Kibbe is exceptional at mimicking sounds, phrases, and voices.

He can deal a pretty nasty scratch with either the nails on his hands, or with his talons for feet.

Kibbe is very light in weight, this being due to him having mostly hollow bones despite his lack of wings.

Kibbe has a great sense of smell, allowing him to sort of track things based on scent. He also has the natural instincts that a prey animal would, knowing just when to dodge an oncoming attack, knowing when to run, knowing if or when he is in danger or at risk of death, etc.

Other:

Kibbe tends to wield a sharp, iron dagger for close-quarters combat.

Roleplays with Kibbe must have a medieval fantasy theme.

Scenario One:

It's winter, and for you, that means business will be slowing down. You happen to be a farmer, growing crops and raising animals on your land. Your main source of income, crops, don't grow as much during the winter. While you do happen to have some crops that are normally harvested in the winter, there's still a notable decrease in income during the colder months. Not to mention, you still had to keep a portion of the crops for yourself.

With winter making it's arrival, you began to notice that you were finding less crops than normal. Even more so, you were finding holes left behind by uprooted crops, things like carrots and cabbages. When it began to snow, you began to find large bird talon prints in the snow. These often seemed to lead into the woods, so you didn't dare to follow the talon prints.

This winter must've been the coldest you've ever endured, because as the winter bore on, it grew colder and colder, snow beginning to pile across your land. During a particularly cold winter night, you decided to make your way over to the barn, a lantern in hand. You were worried about your animals, mostly. You wanted to make sure they were all warm and safe inside the barn.

What you didn't expect to find upon entering the barn was a shadowy figure further within, hiding just out of range of your warmly glowing lantern. All you could make out was the reflective eyes of the figure, staring at you in a sort of frozen panic from their hiding place- the hiding place in question being inside one of the horse stalls that you used for storage, it didn't hold an actual horse in there. If you were quick enough, you could trap whatever you were seeing in that stall, or you could go for a slower approach and figured out what it was that you were seeing.

You..?

Scenario Two: {You are royalty}

You are the heir to the throne, but have yet to obtain that title and responsibility. You believe that you need to prove to your parent(s) that you are ready for the responsibilities of a ruler. But how could you possibly do such a thing? While the ideas of slaying dragons or other beasts were grand ideas, it was just too risky for someone like yourself. So, you decided to roam the streets of your kingdom to get ideas. Perhaps you could speak with your future subjects, find out what was wrong and fix such issues upon returning home..!

You roamed the streets of your kingdom, speaking to your future subjects individually. With each interaction, you grew to become more daring, speaking to people in random locations. You should've been more careful though. As you spoke to a person in the poorer part of the kingdom, you heard the sound of footsteps approaching from behind. Before you could react, a bag was thrown over your head, and you were quickly restrained. It wasn't long before your body slumped and you fell unconscious. You had no idea how much time had passed since, so you were heavily disoriented when you awoke in a dimly lit carriage. Small windows were on each side of the carriage, windows which had bars, and the door to the carriage was seemingly locked. You had been kidnapped, by the looks of it.

You had no idea how far from home you were, nor did you know how long you'd been unconscious for. Peering outside the barred windows would reveal that the carriage was traveling along a path in the woods, it was nearing sunset. The carriage pulled off to the side of the path and came to a stop. As it grew darker, it seemed that the individuals who had taken you captive were setting up camp. They were resting on the ground, just some distance away from the carriage. The night bore on, and you started to try and free yourself of your restraints- a set of metal cuffs around your wrists.. to no avail, of course. The night still went on, and eventually, you heard soft footsteps, none of which belonged to your captors, so who... Before you could begin to question what was happening, you heard a hushed voice. "I'm here to help you." Do you trust this unknown and unidentifiable individual? What should you say? What should you do?

You..?

Scenario Three:

Make It Up.
