Chapter four: To the clifftops

The next morning the group had reached the cliffs and the second boat was not too far behind "look he's right on top of us!" Nino exclaimed "whoever he is he's too late see," Lila said pointing to the cliffs "Hurry up. Move the thing! Um ...that other thing. Move it!" Lila yelled the groups get off the boat and Marinette, Nino and Lila tied themselves to Ivan as he climbed a robe that reached to the top. A man dressed in a black leaped from his boat and quickly followed them "he's climbing the rope," Nino said "inconceivable," Lila said in fear and disbelief "climb faster!" Lila demanded "I thought I was going faster," Ivan said struggling " You were supposed to be this colossus. You were this great, legendary thing and yet he gains." Lila complained as the man in black got closer "well I'm carrying three people and he's only got himself," Ivan said trying to defend himself "I do not accept excuses (shaking his head) I'm just going to have to find myself a new giant, that's all." As they argued the man got closer and everyone noticed that he was wearing a mask, had a tail, claws and cat ears, "did I make it clear that your job is at stake!" Lila yelled as they finally reached the top, Ivan dropped Marinette and she laid perfectly still while a terrified Lila cut the rope, however when Ivan and Nino went to see if he had fallen the man was still there "he has very good arms," Ivan commented, "he didn't fall inconceivable!" Lila yelled in frustration "You keep using that word -- I do not think it means what you think it means. (looks down again) My God! He's climbing." Nino exclaimed amazed that the man was still chasing them "whoever he is he's obviously seen us with the princess and must, therefore, die, you take her (to Ivan) if he falls fine if not the sword," Lila said walking away with Ivan and Marinette "I want to duel him left-handed," Nino said happily "you know what a hurry we're in!" Lila yelled in an annoyed tone "Well, it's the only way I can be satisfied if I use my right --- over too quickly." Nino said causing Lila to groan "fine just finish him off," Lila said turning to leave "be careful that cat-man looks like he can't be trusted," Ivan said to his friend "I'm waiting!" Lila said impatiently, Ivan nods and hurries after Lila leaving Nino alone with the strange cat-man, "hello there," he called getting the man's attention "look I don't mean to be rude but this is not as easy as it looks so I would appreciate if you didn't distract me," the cat-man said "sorry," Nino said "thank you," the man responded, Nino, took out his sword and practiced for a bit before getting bored "I don't suppose you could move a little faster," Nino said getting impatient "if your in such a hurry you could give me a paw and throw down a rope or a tree branch." The cat-man said "I could do that I've got some rope up here. But I do not think that you will accept my help since I am only waiting around to kill you." Nino said "that does put a damper on our relationship," the cat-man said, "but I promise I will not kill you until you reach the top." Nino ensured him "that's very comforting but I'm afraid you'll just have to wait," the cat-man said "I hate waiting," Nino said grabbing down the rope "I swear on the sword of my father you will reach the top alive," Nino said promising to not let the man fall "throw me the rope," the cat-man said. Nino then threw the rope and helped the cat-man reach the top, "thank you," he said starting to take out his sword " we'll wait until you're ready," Nino said being fair "again thank you," the cat-man said taking a break to get the rocks out of his boot "I don't mean to pry but you don't happen to know a lady with six fingers on her left hand," Nino said earning a 'what are you talking about' look from the man "do you always begin conversations this way?" he asked "my father was slaughtered by a six-fingered woman," Nino said "no I don't but I certainly hope you find her someday," the cat-man said getting up "you are ready then?" Nino asked taking out his sword and the cat-man quickly drew his sword "Whether I am or not, you've been more than fair." He said "you seem like a good guy I hate to kill you," Nino admitted, "you also seem to be good, I hate to die." The cat-man said
