Andy's POV

That morning

"Ricky, can I ask you a question?" I asked.

"Sure" he said.

"Would it be wrong if I kept Matt out of my son's life?" I asked.

"Depends on why" he said.

"Ricky, when I was sleeping last night, I realized how selfish Matt really was" I said.

"Care to explain more?" He asked.

"When I told Matt that I was pregnant, he accused me of cheating and left for a drink and didn't come back for three days. He's fucking selfish, I had to beg him to help me name the baby, I had to do all the shopping by myself and go to all the appointments by myself. He was only sweet when he was feeling frisky, and since I won't have sex with him since I'm pregnant, he's not sweet, ever anymore" I said.

"I wouldn't let Matt into little Ryan's life, he'd be a horrible father. When you become a father, you either set all your priorities straight and become selfless or you don't, there's no in between. If he's not willing to go to the ends of the earth for the baby, then he's not willing to be a father" he said.

"Tell me something I don't know Ricky, I don't know what happened, when I was pregnant with Topanga, he was such a sweetheart and he was willing to be a father and now he doesn't care about that baby unless I bring up divorce" I said.

"It sounds to me that you guys love to hate each other but hate to love each other" he said.

"It's not even that Ricky, I love him but not like I did when I was a teenager, I started losing feelings for him when you came along, then gained them back when you left, and then lost them about a year after him and I got married" I said.

"So basically, you only loved him when I wasn't around?" He asked.

"Kind of" I said.

"I hope you didn't leave him just because I came around, because then you would have left him for all the wrong reasons" he said.

"Look Ricky, I'm not that shallow, I wouldn't do that, no matter how fucked up my relationship or marriage is, I'm not that type of person" I said.

"I'm just saying" he said.

"I just hope I didn't ruin baby Ryan's life before he can experience life by keeping his dad out of his life" I said.

"Andy, you will find a guy who will go to the ends of the earth for that little guy, you'll find a guy who will care more for the both of you than Vegan did" he said.

"What if I don't? I don't want him to grow up all screwed up" I said.

"He'll have a father eventually, don't sweat it. You're an amazing and beautiful girl, a guy would be crazy to not fall in love with you" he said.

"Thanks Ricky" I said.

"No problem, just remember that I'll also be around since we're friends and we have a child together" he said.

"Alright, thanks Ricky" I said, hugging him.
