Chapter 2

It's been eight years since the day Toast got a girlfriend.

Ghost was 24, and Toast was 26.

Toast still had his girlfriend, and they had both moved back to butts nc, where they'd gotten an apartment with each other.

Ghost could barely afford the apartment he lived in, his only money coming from his job at McDonald's.

He hadn't started his ghost hunting business with Toast, because he was too busy with his girlfriend. Ghost was left by himself in his dingy apartment, working a crappy job that he hated with a passion, and his love with another.

He'd never really gotten over Toast. The little that he did see Johnny Toast, he was with his girlfriend, and it pained Ghost.

Which is why he didn't hang out with him very much anymore.

He was just lounging around his house now, channel surfing the tv.

Suddenly, there was a loud banging on the door, startling him.

He jumped, before sighing, turning off the tv and standing up.

The banging continued, and he grumbled, hurrying his pace and unlocking the door.

He opened the door, eyes widening as he saw Toast was standing there.

His eyes were red-obviously from crying- and he looked worried.

"H-hey.." He smiled briefly. "E-er, sorry to bother you... I just, ah..."

"Come in!" Ghost shouted, ushering him through the door and having him sit on the couch, going into the kitchen.

He came back out with a cup of tea, handing it to Toast.

Toast took it, smiling softly up at him, taking a sip and rubbing his eyes. Ghost took a seat in front of him, watching him worriedly.

"What happened?" Ghost whispered after a few moments, and Toast's head shot up.

Quickly, he looked back down, tears coming to his eyes. Ghost reached forward, putting his hand on Toast's shoulder.

"Uh," Toast sniffed. "T-Trudy cheated on me.."

He looked down, rubbing his eyes as Ghost's own eyes widened.

He couldn't understand why that would've happened. They were both so in love with each other.

Instead of asking this, he decided that Toast just needed someone to be there for him.

He moved over, sitting next to Toast and wrapping his arms around his shoulders, doing his best to comfort his friend.

Toast turned, sobbing into Ghost's chest. Ghost's eyes widened, before he awkwardly put his hand on Toast's head, running it through his hair.

"Er, it's okay, Toast. Everything'll be fine..." He tried to comfort him, awkwardly looking around the room.

Secretly, he was a little pleased that she had cheated. Maybe now he had a chance. He immediately disregarded that thought, angry that he felt that way.

She had hurt Toast, and he loathed her even more. No, he hated her.

"I-I don't know what to do, Ghost. I've got no one else, I don't even hardly talk to you anymore! I'm so sorry, I'm so, so sorry. You probably don't want me here, but I've got no where else to go."

Ghost patted his head. "No, Johnny. It's alright. You can stay here as long as you need, I'm so sorry that this happened..."

Eventually, Toast sat up, wiping the tears from his eyes once more as he looked up at Ghost.

"Thank you... I'm so sorry that I haven't talked to you that much, I don't even know what happened. We were best friends..." He whispered, looking down at the ground.

"It's okay." Ghost sighed, still running his fingers through Toast's hair. "You had other things..."

Toast sat up, moving away from Ghost and wiping the remainder of his tears, smiling softly.

"So, what've you been up to? Where do you work?" Toast asked.

Ghost's eyes darted around the room, avoiding Toast's gaze as he rubbed the back if his neck.

"Er, nothing important..." He said.

More like I was sulking over you going away while I work a crappy job.

Toast laughed. "C'mon! Let's catch up. We haven't talked in... Oh. We haven't talked in almost eight years..."

Ghost looked away, tears in his own eyes. He didn't even notice that they weren't talking. For eight years.

"Well... Nothing much has happened with me. I work a crappy job with low pay, and I can just barely afford this place." He said, biting back his tears and facing Toast.

"Oh.." Toast whispered, looking away. "Well, uh- if you want, I could stay here, and help you pay for it?"

Ghost bit his lip. "No, no. You can stay here, you don't need to pay anything for it."

"Well, I feel like I should. It's rude of me to just barge in here and expect you to let me stay." Toast said.

"It's fine, Johnny. Really." Ghost smiled at him.

Toast just sighed, knowing that Ghost would never give up.

"Okay." He smiled. "Er, where am I supposed to sleep?"

Ghost smile fell, and he thought for a second, deciding to give Toast his bed.

"You can sleep in my room." He pointed towards it. "I got the couch."

"Oh no," Toast said, jumping up. "I am fine on the couch, I don't want to be anymore of a bother to you."

"Oh, shut up Johnny. It's okay." Ghost smiled again.

"No." Toast shook his head defiantly. "You are not sleeping on the couch."

"Well I'm not letting you sleep on the couch either Johnny." Ghost glared at him. "So what do you suggest we do? Share a bed?"

"Well if neither of us will give up." Toast glared back.

Both if their eyes widened, and Ghost blushed, looking away.

"Look Johnny.." He whispered. "I usually sleep on the couch after I get home from work anyways. I'm fine."

Toast rolled his eyes.

"Geez Ghost, you act like it'd be horrible to have to share a bed with me. Until I can afford my own place, I'm okay with sharing a bed. Just.." He glared, a playful smile on his face. "Stay on your side of the bed."

Ghost's eyes widened, and he nodded quickly, finally agreeing.

He wasn't sure how this was going to go. Sharing a bed with his love of eight years, who'd only just gotten out if a relationship. That day.

Still, he knew there was no point in arguing, and around nighttime that day, the two slowly slid in to bed together, awkwardly staying on their respective sides of the bed.

"Goodnight.. Ghost." Toast whispered, turning over in bed.

"Goodnight Johnny." Ghost whispered back, staring at the ceiling for a while before sighing, turning into his own side and falling into a peaceful sleep.

Boy, this will be interesting.

Yay, second chapter.

I friggin hate Trudy. I hate the name Trudy. And she cheated on Toast, after stealing him away from his true love.

I hate writing anything where someone's between them.

I swear, I get way to friggin attached to fictional characters. I'm pretty sure I'm crazy.

Whatever. I don't mind. Crazy is awesome.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and I can't wait until I get to write the rest of this! I have bug plans for it. Sad plans. Be scared.

But yeah. Hope you enjoyed this chapter. Bye!-Bob
