21. Epilogue

Several Months Later

"Uh, Lou?"

I heard him say from the passenger seat as we pulled into the park.

I snickered at the blindfold wrapped around his eyes.

"Remind me again why you forced me into your car and made me wear this blindfold?"

"Shh.." I placed my finger over his lips. "It's a surprise."

"Okay." He sighed. "I'm trusting you."

I opened up my car door, jogging over to his side and helping him out of the car.

"I hope we're not in public because this probably looks really weird."

I laughed at him, guiding him onto the grass.

He squished it under his shoes. "This definitely feels like grass."

I continued guiding him, watching his nostrils flare from the wind blowing in his face.

"Smells like grass too." He held his arms out in front of him. "Where are you taking me, Lou?"

"It's a surprise!" I said again, leading him deeper into the park.

I finally stopped him, letting out a deep breath.

"Okay." I smiled. "Take off your blindfold."

"I'm nervous." He giggled before lifting his hands to his eyes and removing the blindfold.

He held his mouth, his eyes brimming with tears at the sight.

"Oh my gosh.." He shook his head. "I-I can't believe it."

"Believe it, baby."

In front of us was the grass hill that we shared our first kiss with a candle lit picnic I had set up for him.

He turned his body, hugging me tighter than he ever had before.

"I love you so much." He whispered in my ear.

"I love you too." I whispered back, holding back tears of joy.

He grabbed my hand, pulling me up the hill. "Come on!"

We ran to the very top, plopping down on the blanket I had laid out.

He sat beside me, cuddling into my lap. "I love this."

"I'm glad you love it." I laid my head on his shoulder.

"So.." He noticed the wicker basket lingering on the side. "What did you pack?"

"Let's see.." I opened it up. "We have.. chicken, stuffed with mozzarella cheese, wrapped in Parma-ham.. with some mashed potatoes in a container."

He giggled. "The only thing you know how to cook."

"You guessed it." I pulled out everything, laying it out in front of him.

"This is so sweet, baby." He cuddled closer to me.

"I know." I looked in the basket once more. "Oh.. I almost forgot the wine."

I pulled out 2 glasses and a pink bottle of champagne.

"Are we allowed to drink in a public park?" He laughed.

"Probably not." I shrugged before pouring him a glass. "Oh well."

He sat up, clasping the glass in his hand. "Thanks, boobear."

"You're welcome, sunshine."

I clinked my glass against his before taking a sip.

"So.." He smacked his lips. "What's the occasion?"

"There doesn't always have to be an occasion for me to do something special for my baby." I gave an all-knowing smirk.

"Mmhmm." He took another sip. "If you say so."

I chuckled at his face before directing my attention to a small radio I set up.

"Where'd you get that?" He watched me lift it.

"I found it at Walmart." I turned it on. "Isn't it cool?"

He paused when he heard the soft music begin to fill the air. "Is this.. You're Still the One?"

"Yup." I smiled. "It's programmed to only play this song and the Into the Woods soundtrack."

"Awe, babe.." He leaned in closer to me, kissing my lips. "That's so sweet. You're too good to me."

"You're too good to me." I pulled him onto my lap, kissing him more passionately than I ever had before.

He stopped when he felt something in my pocket.

He looked down, furrowing his brows.

"What's that?"

"Um.." My face turned bright red. "Nothing?"

"It feels like a.." He continued to feel my pocket. "A tiny box."

"It's nothing!" I kissed him again, trying to direct his attention away from my pocket.

"It doesn't feel like nothing." He pulled away. "What is it?"

I cleared my throat nervously, trying to kiss him again. "Let's just continue kissing."

"C'mon.." He whined. "What's in your pocket? I have to know!"

"You really wanna know?" I raised a brow.

"Yes." He looked all giddy.

"You truly wanna know?"

"Yes!"

"You really, truly wanna-"

"Yes, Louis! What is in your pocket?!" He bounced impatiently.

"Okay.."

I let out a deep breath, lifting him so we were both standing on top of the blanket.

"Louis.. what are you-"

I slowly dropped down to one knee, pulling out the tiny box from my pocket.

He gasped, holding his mouth in surprise.

"Harry Edward Styles.." I opened the box slowly, revealing a silver ring. "From the moment I first laid eyes on your beautiful smile. I just knew you were the one for me. From the moment I gave you that jacket. I knew I needed more. When we had our first date, I couldn't help but fall for you more and more from that moment on. From our silly food fights to our shopping sprees. To our late night conversations.. to our lazy days on the couch eating endless amounts of junk food.."

He started sobbing as I continued.

"These past few months have been the most amazing months of my life. I love every single thing about you, Harry. I couldn't imagine my life without you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you." I paused, lifting the box up higher. "So.. Harry.."

"Yes?" He said through his tears.

"Will you marry me?" I choked out, my knee secretly hurting from being in that position so long.

"Done." Harry confidently nodded, his face enveloped with pure happiness.

I stood up, falling into his arms as we embraced.

"Here.." I released my embrace, holding the box tightly in my hand. "Let me see your hand."

He held his trembling hand out, allowing me to slide the silver band onto his finger.

"It's so perfect." He shook his head. "I love it so much."

"And I love you." I looked deeply into his green eyes.

"Ya know.." Harry paused, wiping his eyes. "I think it's true what they say."

"What's that?" I smiled.

He looked over at the park bench lingering at the bottom of the hill.

"Dreams really do come true."
