Chapter 8

For the past week, I haven't seen Gelda or Zeldris. After my encounter with Gloxinia and Drole- I'm far too embarrassed to ever show my face again! The moment Gelda sees Zeldris and I even with a meter of each other- she's going to try and get us together with one of her crazy plans!

I held my head and shook it furiously. "YOU'RE THINKING TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS Y/N!" I cried out to myself. Thank goodness Sariel wasn't home. "Just go there and like nothing happened at all-" I muttered to myself, pacing back and forth in my room.

"I can just deny everything Gelda says-! Yeah! Zeldris would know how crazy Gelda can be sometimes," I laughed nervously. "Ahhhh!!!" I yelled. "I'm going crazy!!!" I exclaimed to myself, messing up my hair in the process.

Suddenly, an abrupt knock pounded on the door. "Yo! N/N? You okay? Sounds like I heard a lot of yelling," I recognised that voice.

Meliodas
The pervert

He was the worst one that could've come to the door right now! I can't tell him I'm freaking out because I have to go and see the man I just discovered I had feelings for. Not to mention it's his younger brother!!

"I'm coming!" I scrambled to the door, bumping into some walls on the way. "Heyyy Meliodas~" I greeted him, crossing my arms, leaning on the doorway, my hair dishevelled. "You okay?" Meliodas tilted his head to the side looking confused as heck. "Your face is really red-"

I screamed and ran to the bathroom. It was true....my face.....was BEET RED. "Noooo!!!" I whined. I walked into the living room and flopped down onto the couch. "Leave me here to die, Mel," I stuffed my face into the couch, muffling my voice.

Meliodas laughed and closed the door behind him and sat down on the couch beside me. "What's wrong, Y/N? You're acting even more flustered than usual," Meliodas stated. "Love is difficult," I complained.

Meliodas looked down at me with a smirk. "Well, well, well, has our little goddess found someone she's fond of?" Meliodas snickered. I looked up at him and threw the nearest pillow around me into his face.

"Q-quiet!!" I stuttered before placing my hands over my face in embarrassment. "Am I allowed to know who it is?" Mel asked. I meekly looked up at him, shaking my head. "Maybe one day, but not right now,"

"Say, Meliodas? How do you get closer to someone without being totally obvious?" I asked. He rubbed the back of his neck as he dwelled in his thoughts.

"I'm not sure. You just- do it," he explained. "Wow, that helps a lot," I deadpanned. "Sorry," he chuckled.

"You just have to continue being who you are. Even if you are completely obvious, the other could be completely oblivious," Meliodas laughed nervously. A new knock came at the door.

I flew to the door and opened it to see Elizabeth. "Hello, dear Y/N! Have you seen Meliodas by chance? I'm worried that he's going to get lost and run into Ludociel-"

"You were worried, eh?" Meliodas popped into Elizabeth's line of sight from the couch. Elizabeth's face went red. "T-that's not what I meant-!" She exclaimed.

Meliodas jumped up from the couch and waltzed to Elizabeth. "Watch and learn N/N," he smirked, jumping onto Elizabeth, groping her chest.

My face went red. I stomped over there and pulled Meliodas off of Elizabeth and threw him onto the couch. "You pervert! What on Earth was that supposed to help with!?" I yelled.

He sat up innocently, as if he didn't do such a vile act. "You just do it, N/N. Interact with them to create a closer bond," Meliodas smiled.

My eyes sparkled. "That....was actually good advice? What'd you do to the real Meliodas?!" I exclaimed, pointing at him. Elizabeth laughed. "He can give good advice when he wants too," she explained.

"What did you need advice on? Perhaps I could provide some insight," the goddess offered. I looked up at her with hopeful eyes. "How do you not be completely obvious that you've caught feelings for someone? They're very cold, but I can see a warm heart underneath it all and I intend to help him see that!"

"There's no complete way to not be obvious. Just hope that the other is completely dense!" Elizabeth cheered. I looked at Elizabeth and then Meliodas. "Like you two?" I deadpanned.

"I'm not dense, N/N," Meliodas cooed. "I'm...dense?" Elizabeth repeated slowly. I sighed and unsheathed my wings. "Does Meliodas grope any other women besides you Elizabeth?" I asked.

Meliodas shook his head. "No, they all smack me away, like I'm a pervert or something," He answered, cluelessly. "Elizabeth, you're the only woman that actually allows him to touch you like that. Therefore, I announce you both, dense as heck," I teased.

"I'll be going now, but if you two are going to end up making out or something, find someplace that's not my house," I explained before flying away, a few feathers falling from my wings.

..........

I had made my way back to the Demon Realm safely, but the closer I got, the more embarrassed I seemed to get. I landed and began pacing back and forth. "Oh goodness, what am I supposed to do?" I mumbled to myself.

"Glad to see you could make it~" my best friend's voice reached my ears. "G-gelda!" I stuttered. Right behind her, Zeldris appeared from the shadows.

"It's wonderful to see you two again!" I exclaimed. "It's been a while," I could already feel my face getting hot as I caught a glimpse at Zeldris's eyes. Why did they have to be so beautiful-

"I'm glad to see you as well. You look b-beautiful," Zeldris stuttered. I glanced over at Gelda, who looked like she was internally fangirling.

Compliment completed. Zeldris thought, thinking of the tips Gelda gave him: Compliment, flirt, and tease.

"W-will we be training today?" I managed to make a sentence. Zeldris nodded. "We will. We've focused on flying and today we'll be focusing on sword techniques," he explained.

I nodded. "Right!" He pulled out a second sword that he had brought with him. He handed it to me and I took it in my hands. Zeldris took his own sword in his hands. "You'll want to find a grip that you're comfortable with. Everyone will have a different method, but there are still things to consider,"

I grasped the sword and it felt odd. I placed another hand on the sword to help support its weight. "Here-" Zeldris set his sword down and walked over to me, placing his hands on mine.

"It seems like you'll be more comfortable with two hands. You'll want to support your left hand as it supports the most weight-" he explained as he gently moved my hands to demonstrate his words.

My face felt like it was on fire. He was so close-! Oh goodness gracious- his hands are on top of mine!!! What am I supposed to do?! Even if it is training, no one has ever touched my hands before!

"Your right hand will go under your left and more towards the hilt while your left will generally be closer to the blade so you may have an equal distribution of weight," Suddenly, he stopped explaining.

"Your hands- are so soft-" he muttered to himself. I looked at him with a shocked expression I could literally faint right now-!

OH MY LORD why is he being so different today

Does he want my death?!

Zeldris looked at me with a small blush. We stood there for a brief second before we realised how close the two of us were-

We turned away from each other. I could hear Gelda snickering in the background.

Flirting complete

He turned to face me and smirked slightly. "Your face is really red," he teased.

The last step, teasing, complete

"S-shut up!"

We went on and trained for a full hour. I was so exhausted. My hands were shaking. The sword that Zeldris gave me was heavier than the standard swords of the Goddess Clan.

I puffed out my cheeks feeling frustrated about not being able to keep up with him.

"Don't worry too much." Gelda, who was watching from the side lines, gave him a sign that I didn't see.

"I- I a-actually wanted to ask you something.."

Looking up at him with confused eyes, I tilted my head slightly to the side, my hands behind my back.

Seeing this Zeldris blushed

Cute

"I- do you want to-" before he could finish his sentence, he abruptly stopped and turned around, sword drawn out.

I widened my eyes feeling the familiar presence of Ludociel.

Oh no! I have to protect him. Ludociel can't see both of them!

"Zeldris! Quick Leave! Ludociel can't see you here, he'll kill you!"

I was full of panic.

"What? There's no way I'll leave you here alone with him. Even so, he's in the Demon Realm. He's trespassing, I can handle him," Before he could fly away, I had grabbed his arm . "No! Please, I can distract him while you go! Please- I can't see you get hurt! I can just say some lie like I was spying and gathering intel-" I pleaded.  Zeldris looked conflicted, he wanted to protect you, but that'll be also risky. Ludociel can label you as a traitor and kill you if he sees you with him.

I can't let that happen.

"Fine. But you better not have a scratch on you when I come back to check on you."

He unleashed his wings, turned around to me one last time, looking worried and conflicted. He clenched and gritted his teeth before he flew away. I turned to Gelda and gave her a reassuring smile. She gave a sad look and disappeared in the dark fore. Seconds later Ludociel came flying towards me. He landed right in front of me and fixed me with a stern expression. "Lady Y/n, what in the world are you doing in the Demon Realm?"

"I was gathering intel, but I couldn't find anything." Ludociel frowned, he approached me, leaned towards me and took my chin in between his fingers. "Really?.. Then why do I sense dark magic near you?" I glared up at him and slapped his hand away. "Because we're in the Demon Realm," I snapped, as if it was the most obvious thing.  "Don't get smart with me, maybe you were betraying your own clan and joining them?" He suddenly took my left wrist in his hands and brought it near his face squeezing hard. I winced at the pain. I attempted to remove my wrist but he tightened his grip on it. Tears pricked the corners of my eyes.

"Let go of me!"

"Not until you tell me what in the world you were doing here. Do you think I'm stupid? You're not that intelligent to gather intel on them." Ludociel spat, his eyes full of venom accompanied by a sly smirk.  I snapped my eyes open, I leaned my head down, my hair covering my eyes." why... do you keep degrading me.." snapping my head up, I glared up at him. Ludociel was so shocked he loosened his grip on me.  I took this chance to remove my wrist from him. I flew over him, I took my sword from the ground and turned towards him.  "If I'm that weak then fight me and defeat me!" Even Ludociel could see the fire in my eyes. He gritted his teeth and unsheathed his own sword

"I'll show you, to show respect to your superior!"

Like hell I'll let her talk to me that way!

We both leaped towards each other and clashed our swords. I pushed his sword away and attempted to strike him but he blocked it with his arm armor. I kept attacking him and looked for an opening. But he was too fast. He was one of the best. It will be hard to defeat him. But I have to, to show him that I'm not weak. However, before I attempted another move, he flew over me and cut behind me on my wings. Fortunately, I was able to dodge but still got hit. I grit my teeth because of the pain.

"See as I told you you're pathetic and weak"

" SHUT UP! You don't know anything about me! I train hard every damn day!"

Gasping, I suddenly remembered about Zeldris training me and what he had told me.

*********

"When you're fighting, use your surroundings to your advantage, even use your own opponent. Look what you can do, see what he's doing and see what you can do to destabilise him"

"Do you think It will work?... Do- do you think I can do It?"

"You should stop doubting yourself, you're strong I'm sure you can achieve anything"

I smiled up at him grateful for having him by my side

"thank you Zel!"

*******

Smirking, I looked up at him and held up my sword. I could feel the fire in my own eyes. Ludociel frowned, he was prepared to attack too. I flew at high speed towards him. I screamed in all my might. As I approached him, he was prepared to strike me, however I turned around and flew backwards over him, using the tree in front of me, I put my two feet on it and used it as a support, turning over again. I leaped over him and flew faster than before. Ludociel turned around shocked about my move, he gritted his teeth and moved his sword upwards, I smirked.

perfect -

Dropping my sword, I touched the ground with my feet and leaped towards him to encircle my arms around his torso and made him fall on the ground.  When he fell he dropped his sword so I was able to get it and point it between his eyes. Smirking down at him, I felt proud.

"Got you.. I win"

Ludociel sat there on the ground feeling too shell shock to move

Him one of the great archangels, was defeated by a mere goddess.

How could that be!?

I winced feeling the pain on wings from the hit Ludociel gave me

Ahh~ hurts...

I dropped on the ground on my knees, widening my eyes I realized Zeldris will scold me later

Shit..

However what I failed to notice was Zeldris high up in the dark sky

And let me tell you he didn't look quite happy ....
