A/N: Hope you guys enjoy this short one-shot! Thanks for reading my fanfics!

Asahi's POV:

I watched the captain of our volleyball club ran towards me, and stopped me from entering my classroom. He stood in front of me. I didn't need to ask him what he wanted, I already knew.

"Asahi, do you want to join the team this year?" he asked.

I looked at him. This must have been the millionth time I have to repeat my answer.

"No, Daichi," I averted my eyes, "never."

Daichi slouched and opened his mouth to start his persuasive speech, even though his speech was not persuasive enough to get the "Guardian" of the team back. I rolled my eyes.

"Daichi, stop it," I said, "I don't want to go back to the club anymore. Did you forgot what happened to us last year?"

"I didn't," he started, "b-"

"No," I cut him off, "then you should know better th-"

"Asahi," Daichi stared right into my eyes, "that's why I want to go back."

I cocked my head, clearly confused, "Why?"

"Get the word 'revenge' into your dictionary, Asahi," the captain said.

I actually considered joining the club for a few seconds, then it flashed before me. The image. The day we lost against Date Tech. The pain and sorrow of the memory washed over me, and my eyes hardened.

"No, Daichi," I snapped, "I'm not going back."

He begged for like an eternity, knowing that once I get annoyed, I would probably agree to join the club. He wasn't wrong. But he wasn't right either.

"Fine," I observed the lights in Daichi's eyes, "only..."

The captain waited for me to continue.

"If Nishinoya joins, and if he is able to convince me..."

Daichi's POV:

What did he say? I stared at Asahi, dazed, that would be literally impossible to do. Convince the libero?! And make him convince Asahi???

"Mhm," the ace nodded, "if Nishinoya agrees, and makes me join."

I sighed, At least this is better than having no hope. Gotta go find Nishinoya now...

Asahi watched me walk away from his classroom depressed, his eyes softened just a little. I didn't stop and wait for him to call me back because I knew he won't change his mind after what happened against Date Tech. The heartbreaking loss. We weren't able to destroy the iron wall, the walls never opened, and none of the ace's spikes went in. It shattered Asahi into a thousand pieces so tiny that even Nishinoya was unable to repair him. I understood the sadness in Asahi, but never got why he gave up so easily. Karasuno clearly needed him.

I'll go convince Nishinoya, I said determinedly, with Kageyama and Hinata, we'll become powerful again.

I stalked towards Nishinoya's classroom. It was lunch time, and I spotted the boy sitting in his usual window seat, a lunch box opened in front of him.

"Hey Nishinoya," I walked, "I have a favor."

"Oh hi Daichi," he smiled, "what is it?"

"What club are you going to join this year?" I asked him.

"I don't know yet," he thought for a moment, then added, "depends on Asahi."

I felt hope rise in my heart, and hurriedly continued, "Please join the volleyball club again!"

Nishinoya's POV:

I stared at the black-haired captain.

"Um...I don't know if Asahi wants to go..." I said reluctantly.

"Please Nishinoya, Karasuno won't fly without you," Daichi pleaded, "please join the team!"

"Um...I mean, I have no problem with it," I replied.

"Awesome!" Daichi stood up, "then will you please try to convince Asahi?"

"Eh?!" my eyes bulged out.

What the hell? Why me?! We all know that Asahi didn't want to join again. Did Daichi even realize how much that loss against Date Tech shattered Asahi? Didn't he noticed how the lights dimmed in Asahi's eyes, and how he fell to the ground when the volleyball hit the floor? Didn't he?! I wasn't able to save the ball. It was my fault that Asahi didn't want to join the volleyball club. It was my fault that the team lost.

"I'm sorry," I stared at Daichi's fallen face. "But I don't think I am able to tell him that it was okay to stand on the court again. I don't think I am strong enough now to pull Asahi onto the court, and apologize to him. I'm not confident enough to tell Asahi that everything'll be alright, that he can spike freely, and that I'll be behind his back, guarding him."

"But you can," Daichi said, "I know you can, Nishinoya. Please, just try."

"Sorry, but I don't make promises I cannot keep," I replied.

"No, shut up, Nishinoya. We all know you can."

I whipped around; Tanaka, Sugawara, Hinata and Kageyama stood at the end of the hallway, grinning (smirking, for Kageyama's case).

"Go on, Guardian," smiled Suga.

"Bring the ace back!" Tanaka added.

"Yeah, and show me Rolling Thunder when you come back," Hinata yelled, jumping up and down.

Facing a team full of confidence made me feel insignificant. But when I looked into their determined eyes, any doubt that I had melted as the burning fire in my teammates bore into my heart.

Holding up a thumb, I winked, "Okay, go to the gym and wait for the ace to return."

Asahi's POV:

I was walking home after school when I felt someone wrapped two arms around my waist.

"Oi Nishinoya," I didn't even need to turn around to see who was behind me, "are you walking home too?"

"Yeah," Nishinoya smiled sweetly at the taller male, "let me walk with you."

I nodded. Nishinoya and I started dating a few months ago after I accidentally blurted out that he meant everything to me. I still remembered the awe in the libero's hazel eyes, and the force when he shoved his arms around my neck. A shiver would always go down my spine whenever I recalled the way Nishinoya whispered "I love you" in my ear that day I asked him out, and how the spot where he had kissed me burned. But we were gorgeous altogether, and I'd like to keep it the same way. I snuck a glance at the libero, searching for a right subject to talk about. But he beat me to it.

"Hey Asahi," Nishinoya said, "join the volleyball club, will you?"

I averted my gaze, "You know my answer, Nishinoya."

"You have the potential to be able to bring our team's score up to the point 25, without you, Karasuno's not going to win in any matches. I know why you don't want to go back, but there's something called 'revenge', did you know that?" the libero babbled on, eyes shining. "You're just afraid of losing again. I know I wasn't able to save the balls that hit the court, but I know that if I keep on practicing, I could save the point."

"Nishinoya," I turned my attention back to him, "an ace is suppose to score points for the team, not to make them lose."

"So you don't want to play because you lost one game? One, single, freakin' game?!" Nishinoya stopped walking, "you're willing to give up because you lost one match against a powerhouse? What the hell are you thinking? If you quit volleyball, you're literally assuring Karasuno's fall this year."

"I heard you guys have incredible first-years, they should be able to do it," I snapped.

"No, shut up dumbass," Nishinoya yelled, "you don't understand how much everyone was counting on me to save the ball. You don't understand the pressure and the anger when we lost against Date Tech, but did I quit? No! I didn't quit because of a stupid match that we lost. Quitting because you lost a match is the most cowardly thing anyone can do."

"Stop yelling Nishinoya," I frowned, I don't like it when Nishinoya lose his temper, "I'll be a burden if I g-"

"You already are!" he interrupted me, "just join the club already. I promised everyone that I'll bring you back. You're weighing me down. You're disappointing me."

He turned his body away from me, and adjusted his head to face me.

"I thought you would do anything for me," was all he said before he walked away.

Nishinoya's POV:

Maybe I was a little too harsh on him...I thought, dammit...meh...whatever. Gotta get some sense into that coward.

"Nishinoya!"

"..." I ignored Asahi's call and kept on stomping away.

A hand enclosed itself around my wrist and pulled me back, stopping me from moving further away from the ace. Asahi forced me to turn and face him. Sadness and grief shone in his eyes, his shoulders slumped apologetically. I knew immediately what I told him was too harsh. We stared into each other's eyes, and before I could even say sorry for yelling at him, his lips were on mine. Then he pulled away, far too fast for me to react. I jumped up and curled my arms around his neck, tiptoeing to reach up to the ace. I brought his head closer to mine before deciding to whisper into his ear.

"Asahi, please?" I muttered, closing my eyes, "join the club for me."

I watched Asahi looked away, the gears in his head turning, trying to decide whether or not he was going to join Karasuno Volleyball Club. I waited for his answer as I focused my gaze on Asahi's face. It didn't come. Silence took over when he shoved me against a nearby stone wall. I gasped the minute Asahi's lips pressed onto my mouth, but I didn't pull away. My mouth moved with his in a familiar rhythm until the ace broke our pattern when he traced my closed lips with his tongue, asking for an entrance. My body went rigid, we've never gone beyond a closed-lip kiss. But I let him in anyway, whimpering when Asahi's tongue explored my mouth, leaving no space untouched. My tongue danced with his, and only a string of saliva connected us after we ran out of breath.

"Yeah Nishinoya..." Asahi panted, "but only in one condition."

I paused, then I smiled. I knew exactly what Asahi wanted from me.

"Mhm. Go ahead, my ace," I beamed, "I've got your back."
