DAY TWO

»»-------------------··-------------------««

Gradually making her way down the -what seemed like endless- stone stairs, Hanna found her way to the area where she would be carrying out her first trail in the castle.

With her sleeves tugged down to her hands, her hands encasing the edges of the fabric, Hanna almost penguin-like waddled over to the room where the trial would be taking place.

"Why hello Hanna!" Ant called out, greeting the young driver from main camp. Hanna smiled at Ant, looking around, observing her surroundings.

It was exactly what they said it would be, it looked like an old fashioned diner, all themed red and white. Except, it had neon signs up on the walls, disguising the castle walls.

In the centre of the room stood a table with two chairs on either side, facing each other. Ant and Dec stood behind the table, flashcards in hand.

"Hello." She smiled towards Danny, as she read his name on the bottle. To be entirely honest, Hanna was not familiar with who Danny was, she had never seen nor heard of him, although Matty had told her he was an actor in the show 'Emmerdale'.

Of course, Hanna never followed British soaps, so the soap star himself couldn't be offended, much like how he knew David Ginola had no clue who he was. To David, Danny simply was just some Englishman who cries a lot on the television, and has a slight man-crush on him.

Overall, the young campmate was positive and optimistic about the situation, nothing to complain about yet. So far, so good.

"A completely different entrance to Danny." The host to the left laughed. "Alright, Hanna, why are we seeing you down here?" He asked, pointing to her.

Hanna did have to process the words before answering, her eyes squinted in deep thought. "I guess because nobody else wanted to, and I thought it might be fun to try some cow anus, or whatever you have for us."

At her remark, the two men began laughing, she was spot on. "So that's not something you have in Monaco?" The shorter host asked, still joking.

"No, no, but we do have something called Barbajuan." The Monegasque replied. At the sound of her French words, Danny admired the Monegasque in intrigue.

"Oh, so something similar to a cow's anus?" The Geordie was surprised at Hanna's factual statement.

The driver scrunched her nose up, in faux disgust, she was simply joking with them. "God no, of course not." This once again caused the hosts to laugh. "But, it's basically mouldy cheese, so..." she drifted off, leaving Ant and Dec to recover from their laughter, and she even managed to get Danny to smile a little.

"Well, talking about eating, we're in a diner. Should we find out what's in store?" Ant continued, going back to their script on the flash cards.

Hanna let out a small squeal of excitement, while rubbing her hands together like a child on Christmas day. Danny looked over at her and smiled, he had no idea why Hanna seemed so delighted and happy, but he found it comforting.

"This is the castle's Dreaded Diner. And yes, you've guessed it, it is an eating trial." Danny licked his lips, this was the trial he had been dreading. Quite honestly, there isn't one known celebrity at the moment who you could say: 'oh yeah! They came into the camp saying they'd love to do all the eating trials, with no worries!'. It was always a scary one as it was so unexpected and unpredictable.

"You will compete head to head and the winning celebrity will feed their camp tonight. You'll each be presented with five dishes, which you must eat as instructed, the celebrity that completes the most dishes will win the trial and feed their camp tonight. The loser will go back empty handed." Dec continued, although their last sentence frightening Hanna and Danny as neither wanted to disappoint their respective camps.

Continuing to explain the riots of the trial, Ant read on. "You can pass on a dish, but you can't go back to it. And, of course, you don't have to take part in this trial, but if you say no, you'll go back to your respective camps empty handed."

Both Danny and Hanna shook their heads, there was no way either was giving up. Hanna was extremely determined to win this trial and bring a good meal back to camp. "So, you're here. We've sat down, we've explained it. Are you both up for it?"

Danny seemed slightly tempted to back out, however, he remained focused. Hanna knew he wanted to win the Clink a good meal. She could only imagine how hard it must be there, constantly on rice and beans.

"Round one!" Ant cheerfully exclaimed, for someone who was about two send two people into their some of their worst nightmares, he seemed awfully chirpy. "Danny, as the voted-for Celebrity, you will go first." Although Hanna was sad that Danny had to go first, she was glad she didn't have to. "Let's see what you've got."

Dec turned around and pushed down on a bell as the chirpy sound rang through the room, echoes bouncing off the old castle walls. The noise rather reminded Hanna of a bell you would see at a receptionist's desk.

A warden walked over to the table which Danny and Hanna were sitting at, and in his hand was a pink plastic tray, as if they were in primary school. He placed it in front of Danny, letting Danny open it. Immediately he winced as he opened up what looked like a Chinese takeaway box except with their logo on it.

"These are cows teats." Ant said, giggling at the word along with Dec. Essentially, it was a cow's udder.

Danny's eyebrows were furrowed in confusion "What?"

"Cow's teats." Ant made a few gestures to ensure Danny knew what he was putting in his mouth.

"Yeah, yeah I know but..." Danny trailed off, most definitely not wanting to consume this. Furthermore, this made Hanna worried, if this was around one then it could only get worse from here, but how much worse can it get from a cow's udder?

"You've just 'gotta eat the section that's on the stick." Dec tried to reassure Danny, telling him that he only had to eat a small amount of the portion on the plate, however it did not reassure Danny in the slightest.

Danny sighed, contemplating and observing what was in front of him "Ooh, it's got a hair on it!" He exclaimed, picking up the stick, while Hanna winced, all the duo of hosts could do was laugh watching his suffering.

"Good luck" Hanna wanted Danny to do well, of course she did. So she wanted to reassure him as much as possible throughout this trial to get him through it. Apparently, according to Louise and Kadeena, the soap star had already thrown up simply from the helicopter experience, and admitted his worst trial would be eating.

No wonder the public voted him in. Hanna found that they always voted in the celebrity the through would most suffer, that's why she found it odd as to why anyone would so openly admit they abhorred such trials.

Danny took deep breaths before putting it in his mouth. Hanna nods impressed, smiling encouragingly as he starts puking in his mouth slightly before showing his tongue, that he had swallowed it all.

"Oh he's done it!" Dec announced, also impressed. "Well done." Along with Dec, Hanna clapped for Danny, he had just taken one step closer to conquering one of his fears.

It was now the dreaded time where Ant announced the words Hanna was loathing to hear. "Hanna, you're next! Let's see what you've got." Ant paused as a warden brought out her first 'meal'. "A lamb foot long. Made of sheep's feet."

Hanna looked at the way it was presented. In her mind, it simply looked like a sandwich from Subway. Even the experience of unwrapping the paper felt like it too.

That would be her coping method throughout this trial, Hanna decided she would attempt to imagine that the foods they were giving her, were comfort foods from back home in Monaco, or when she visited family in France, or even when she traveled around the world to different circuits. The motorsport driver simply adored her job and how it allowed her to travel the world at such a young age.

The Monegasque stared at the substance on the cocktail stick as she then hastily took it and put it in her mouth. She closed her eyes and laughed forcefully, "I don't like that." She chucked, and oh boy was it true.

Hanna found that it was quite crunchy, the texture was abnormal, although to her it was simply a dodgy piece of lettuce from her Subway sandwich. Even though Hanna hated watching others do it on this show, she showed her tongue out, as Ant stood impressed "Ah, well done." With his eyebrows raised.

So far neither Danny nor Hanna had given up their meal, it was level going into the second round, neither celebrity wanting to fail their camp and lose.

Dec continued to ring the bell each time they declared a new torturous round.

For his second round, the warden presented the young soap star with something truly vile; it even made Hanna puff her cheeks in disgust. A pig's brain.

Although without too much hesitation he shoves it in his mouth. His strategy is most likely to get it all over and done with. "I'm sorry" Danny says while his gag reflex betrays him. Hanna then sticks her hands out in front of her, signalling to Danny that it was completely fine, she certainly wouldn't be able to cope with this.

Hanna admired Danny's determination. Eating trials had always been his Achilles heel, yet here he was, eating a pig's brain on live national television.

"I can't do it." Danny mutters, the food in his mouth, yet he refused to chew on it any more. While Hanna could simply tell him to spit it out into the bucket, make it an easier possibility for her to win and bring the food back to her camp, she felt herself wanting to actually help Danny.

And although at the moment they are competitors, she wanted to support Danny as much as she could. "Come on Danny, you only have to bite it then swallow it down and then you get to wash it away with some water." Hanna gestured to Danny's water container which stood victorious on the table, quite honestly, the water was their saviour in this.

The driver was unsure whether her words were of any help, however, Danny managed to swallow the remains of the substance and proudly show his tongue towards the two presenters.

A fermented duck egg was what was brought to Hanna next. Solely the sight of it nearly made Hanna want to vomit. "Did you just get this from some sort of alien movie?" The driver asked, in turn making the hosts chuckle, although Hanna wasn't entirely joking. It did look like a prop from a sci-fi film.

After noticing that there was no cocktail stick on this one, Hanna began to panic. "You have to eat the whole thing, Hanna." Dec pointed out. That simple sentence made Hanna want to run away and flee the castle. The egg was massive.

Danny noticed his companion slowly shaking her head, staring at the dish in front of her. He was grateful that she encouraged him on his turn, so he wanted to return the favour. "Come on Hanna, you've got this. It's just a boiled egg with some mustard?"

"Mustard is gross." Hanna finally looked up towards Danny, who now had a faux hurt expression on his face, his mouth in the shape of an 'o', with furrowed eyebrows.

"How dare you!" Dammy gasped, putting his hand on his chest. "Mustard is a delicacy!" In full honesty, Danny didn't exactly enjoy mustard, however he was simply trying to ease Hanna's spirits.

And it worked. The Monegasque shook her head, sticking her tongue out at the Englishman and smiling, much like the two hosts were at each other. They had a feeling that once the two camps joined, they would get along very well.

With her head cleared, thanks to Danny, Hanna every bite, could feel the horrid texture of the fermented egg, she could sense the bile rise up her throat, however she desperately tried to hold it back. After quite a bit of chewing she finally swallowed it.

Displaying her tongue once again to the two presenters, Hanna sighed, glad that was over with, as she took a big gulp of water. Danny meanwhile was disgusted with the fact that they made Hanna eat that, as he threw up in his bucket and he too drank a lot of water in an attempt to get the taste away.

Hanna put her hand up in a thumbs up signal, asking if Danny was okay as she continued to sip at her water. He copied the blonde's gesture with a semi-forced smile.

Danny is then introduced to a fermented catfish that was prepared to look like a burger, as most of these dishes have. It was torture really. They made it look like nice normal food, then they say you can only eat the unpleasant part of the dish.

As Danny ate his portion of catfish quite quickly, he couldn't help but letting out a cough a few times. His strategy of quickly eating it, getting it over with, was actually working, albeit, this was less bad then his previous dish in the actors opinion.

"No, no, no. Oh my lord!" Hann began screaming, extremely freaked out with what was in front of her on the tray. Her high pitched shrieks echoed around the room, and was all that was heard as well as Danny's noises of disgust as he once again vomited.

The two Gerodie hosts were quite shocked at the young celebrity's reaction as she had to stand up from her chair. Putting her hands up to her face, her eyebrows furrowed, Hanna was truly scared of the 'meal' that was presented to her.

"Sorry, oh my gosh. What the hell is that?" Hanna slowly stepped closer towards the table once again. As if she was a hunter approaching her prey, she was extremely careful with her movements.

"It's called a sneeze burger." Ant announced from his position beside Dec who winced at the sight. "Take the bun off." Ant continued to instruct, and so she did. When the bun was off what was revealed made the driver yelp out. "It's a cow's nose."

"No, no, no, no." Hanna chanted. She continued to look down in disgust at the food, yet as she continued to look at it, she feared it looked like something she loved. "Oh my god! No! It looks like my dog's nose."

The Leclerc family had adopted a dog after the constant begging from their only sister annoyed Charles who was considered the man of the house. Albeit, Hanna was rarely at their family house in Monaco as she shared an apartment with a few of her fellow driving friends in Maranello Italy as that was where the Prema Racing factory was situated.

"Just the bit on the cocktail stick."
Dec informed Hanna as she seemed to have controlled her breathing a little better.

At the sight of how upset Ganna looked and the pre-vomit look on Danny's face, as Dec pointed to the chaos in front of the two hosts, he said: "If you've just tuned in, I suggest you switch back again." He laughed along with his taller co-host.

"Mm-mm." Hanna hummed with her eyebrows firmly furrowed, shaking her head in disappointment. She in no way found this situation funny.

After a lot of convincing and Ant reassuring the young Monegasque, calming her down, she took the cocktail stick and put it in her mouth.

The texture of the cow's nose was odd to say the least, it was crunchy at first yet smooth, and at the same time chewy -it wasn't as bad as Hanna had imagined it to be, albeit it wouldn't be one she would order at a restaurant in the near future.

Danny begins to gag as he turns to his bucket beside his chair and the camera could most definitely pick up all the bile of vomit tricking from Danny's mouth. "Oh dear."

"Sorry mate." The soap actor apologized to Hanna for his displays of disgust. He was simply projecting at the mere scene of Hanna eating it, he couldn't begin to fathom how she felt.

"No, no, that's okay." The driver reassured the vomiting Danny. "Just do what you need to do."

After swallowing the surprisingly decent portion, Hanna opened her mouth, displaying that she had consumed all that was required.

"Wow. Well done. Well done." Hanna received praise for what seemed like by far the worst round yet.

Yet again, so far the scores were level, three to three, neither celebrity giving in. It was honestly impressive, however it left Hanna wondering.

It was obvious that neither camp mate wanted to let their respective camp down without a meal tonight, so neither would give in. So how would they decode if it ended level?

"Right, Danny. Let's look at meal number four for you." Dec announced as a warden then presented Danny with his typical tray. "Cheers mate." Was all he responded with.

Ant then informed Danny of his meal, "You have got," He paused, again, most likely for dramatic effect. "the big sac."

"Which is...?" Dec trailed off, wanting a deeper explanation from his co-host.

"Which is what?" Ant asked back, simply joking with Dec. "What is it?" He questioned.

"It's a goat's testicle!" Dec finally exclaimed. Danny did not look happy in the slightest with that.

However-"" Ant began, and with that simple word, Hanna's face dropped as knew it would get a lot worse.

After what felt like a torture in the last round, they decided to make it worse. Quite honestly, Hanna wasn't sure that was possible, but everyone knew that on 'I'm A Celebrity' anything can happen, and in most scenarios, it all happened for the worse.
