DAY ONE

»»-------------------··-------------------««

With their headsets on, seatbelts strapped in and sick bags at the ready, the four celebrities flew up into the air. The helicopter seemed to be going a thousand miles an hour to Hanna, and truth be told, she loved it.

Hanna loved the pure adrenaline rush she was experiencing from this. It surely was one way to conquer her mediocre fear of heights.

However, she was dreading the feeling of it ending. Not so much because she wanted to stay in the helicopter forever -she didn't, although she did enjoy the feeling of her and Matty's knees brushing together every do often. But because she was dreading what they would put them through once they stepped off the helicopter.

Hanna was well aware of the gruesome trials and events that the producers enjoyed putting them through, and she liked how things were now, so she dreaded the change.

When thinking about it, it really did sound twisted. The producers not only enjoyed, but it was their job to put celebrities into situations as uncomfortable and painful as they could, for their and the millions of British families at home's entertainment.

"I wonder where we're going." The racing driver wondered out loud.

"Hopefully somewhere nice, I'm quite enjoying this at the moment." Matty smiled down at Hanna. It was true, Matty too was savouring the comfort whilst he still could.

The helicopter was twisting and turning, and that supposedly caused Arlene to feel a little queasy. "Are you alright?" David took notice of the Dame's uncomfort, reaching over Matty and Hanna to reach for Arlene's hand.

"Yeah, I'm just breathing." Arlene responded, taking David's hand, while bringing the other to her mouth, covering it in case of her being sick.

Looking to her right, Hanna noticed another identical helicopter flying tauntingly alongside them. She nudged Matty, getting his attention, distracting David and Arlene from her previous worries.

"Oh look! Who's there?" Arlene seemed to find it wonderful, as she leaned back in her seat, allowing the others to lean forward and investigate through the small window of the helicopter.

The people in the adjacent helicopter were like small bobs as they were considerably far away so the helicopters didn't collide into one another, and because there was only a small window to look out from.

Albeit, Matty seemed to recognise one of the figures, "Isn't that Danny, from Emmerdale?"

"Oh wow, it's amazing!" Arlene still seemed to be caught up in the wonderfulness of the situation, she found it fascinating.

They all began waving at each other, looking forward to when they could meet as they touched the ground. As Hanna waved towards the other helicopter, she had a smile on her face, these would be her future camp mates, she would spend a while with them and only them, she just hoped they would get along.

Suddenly, and quite dramatically the helicopter swerved to the left, causing a shriek to escape Matty's mouth as it felt like they were directly and 90° degrees, on their side. However, Hanna wasn't all too bothered, for her this was just another corner, experiencing the strong g-force of the car. It was home for her, or the closest she would get to it for a while.

Hanna looked besides her, to see Matty's worried look on his face, by now the helicopter had returned back to normal, and horizontal. For someone who dives off a slim board for ten meters into a pool, he still seemed a little shaken up by the sudden turn.

Hanna slipped her hand so it gripped onto Matty's. He looked down, the height difference not as large as Hanna was considered slightly above average compared to other women, but that didn't hide the fact that Matty was quite tall.

Matty's smile caused Hanna's eyes to light up in delight, she helped him, she caused him not to be as scared as before, and that was a feeling Hanna loved.

"Thank you." Matty breathed out, smiling fondly at the girl.

"That's okay, you're scared?" Her broken English didn't bother Matty in the slightest, he actually quite enjoyed her Monogasque accent, it seemed strangely vaguely familiar to him.

"I didn't think I would be, but I guess I'm slightly afraid." Matty tried to reverse-psychology himself, perhaps if he believed he wasn't afraid, he wouldn't be, although so far Hanna was doing a pretty good job.

"Well, I guess we aren't going the same way as them." Arlenes words brought both Matty and Hanna out of their little trance. Matty still every so often squeezing Hanna's hand, and Hanna reciprocating it. It was her way of telling him she was there for him.

Although, Arlene's statement did cause some confusion to the young girl, if the two helicopters were flying away from each other, they weren't going to the same destination. Why weren't they going to the same place, and where were they going?

"It's beautiful." Arlene continued to marvel about the scenery as they continued to fly in the helicopters, over lots of green country fields. This is where Hanna began to feel less like she was at home. In Monaco, there weren't luscious green fields for days, just a domino stack of boats in harbours and ports.

"I literally feel like I'm on a rollercoaster and I want to get off." Matty said, causing Hanna to squeeze his hand once again, hoping to lift his spirits slightly.

They had been in the helicopter for a while now since seeing the other group, so Hanna could only imagine they were doing something, and they were up next.

"There's something written on the paper there." David observed as they landed on a grassy field.

As they got out of the helicopter, Matty and Hanna's hands were still intertwined. As they got closer, they observed the wooden post, and attached to it were four snoods, two yellow, and two orange.

There was also a laminated paper with a note written on it, addressing the four celebrities, for which the group decided it was best for Arlene to read out as David and Hanna weren't confident enough in their English skills, and Matty was being generous.

"Celebrities. Welcome to Wales! You four will now go into battle, and play your part in trying to win the keys to the Castle." Arlene began, so far, so good as it seemed. "By winning the heys, you will have access to the Castle's main camp, with a bed, a warm fire, and a meal tonight. The losers will be banished to the Castle Clink where you will be on basic rations." Now, so far, not so good.

As much as Hanna began to like these people, and how she can definitely see herself developing friendships with each of them, she hoped she wouldn't be on the team entering The Clink, it sounded awful.

"Ooh, there is a walkie-talkie!" Hanna exclaimed. She was excited, it reminded Hanna of her early childhood, when she would play with her brothers when she was a super secret spy, or an undercover agent. The nostalgia was a nice feeling that put a smile to Hanna's face.

"We just met, and they're gonna separate us." David complained as he reached out, picking up the walkie-talkie that was positioned by the wooden stump.

Shortly after, there was a static sound coming from the radio placed in David's hand. "Hello celebrities, this is Ant and Dec, do you read me? Over." The all too familiar voice of Declan Donnelly came through the walkie-talkie.

"Alreet, you alreet fella?" The Frenchman attempted to impersonate a Geordie accent, however it just provided Ant and the other celebrities a good laugh, as his attempts were not so successful to put it nicely.

"Hello David," Dec responded. "Now listen, four celebrities have just taken on a challenge. Kadeena and Louise won the challenge, and have selected Hanna and Matty to join their red team." The two looked up at each other, smiling. Matty's hand still joined with Hanna's, he refused to let go.

"And what about us?" David questioned, referencing himself and Arlene.

"Which means Arlene and David will join Naughty Boy and Danny to form the yellow team." Ant McPartlin's voice came through the static with news that David did not like.

"The losers." The French football player mumbled, upset. Being an ex-footballer would automatically give a reason for him to be as competitive as he is leading himself on to be.

"You will now put on your team colours and compete in your own challenge," the voice paused, most likely to build up dramatic suspense, "the forest. Good luck, we'll see you later." The static of the radio sounded, indicating the walkie-talkies were off.

As Hanna and Matty put on their red coloured snoods, their hands drifted apart, however as soon as Matty saw Hanna's face emerging from behind her snood, he interlocked their hands once more, he sure was keen. They then smiled at each other before all four of them guided their way through the forest to the challenge that awaited them.
