Y/N POV

He was blushing! "Thank you" I smiled, he moved over to the side of my bed and sat beside me "I didn't do anything" he grumbled. " you did more then you know" I giggled. "that's the cheesiest thing I've ever heard, but I'm glad I helped" he got up to leave "wait!" I didn't know how I was going to finish that sentence. "hm?" He turned around "I- I um. could you sit with me for a while?" I gazed into his eyes and it felt like I was staring into his iron soul. "Sure, but don't you want Natsu or Laxus instead, they are both waiting to talk to you?" He sat back down hesitantly "no I'd much rather sit here with you" I shivered, it was so cold in here. "You cold shortie?" He questioned "Hey I'm not short! You're jut really tall!" I half mumbled the last part. "Shut up tiny" he said pulling me into a hug. "your warm" I snuggled into his chest and he wrapped his arm round me, slowly I drifted off to sleep.

Gajeel's POV

She drifted off to sleep in my arms, she's so cute when she's sleeping. I almost drifted to sleep myself until Natsu stormed in. I sighed and put my finger up to my lips "shh she's sleeping" I whispered.

Natsu's POV

I walked in to find Gajeel with his arm wrapped round a sleeping Y/N I almost screamed at him, but he told me to be quite and slowly slipped out of the bed Y/N was sleeping in and stepped outside. Once the infirmary door was shut I let all my anger out "WHAT THE HELL GAJEEL!" everyone in the guild stopped what they were doing to look at us. "got a problem flame brain?" He asked as if he didn't know why I was angry "how many times do I have to tell you: 'KEEP YOUR HANDS OF MY LITTLE SISTER'!" I prepared to punch him "what's the big deal , so what if I like her?" What did he just say he.. he likes my little sister, my jaw dropped and I punched him it wasn't long before a fight broke out.

Y/N POV

I woke up to find Gajeel gone, oh no! I stepped out of the infirmary to find Laxus beating the living daylights out of Gajeel. "Laxus stop!" I ran over to him and tried to pull him of off Gajeel, Gajeel saw the opportunity and stood up throwing a punch at Laxus. Laxus began to say something under his breath and a huge lighting ball formed in his hands "Laxus stop! You'll kill him!" I cried. "Stop Laxus!" Another voice shouted, I think it was Lucy, but I don't have time to worry about that. " STAY AWAY FROM Y/N!" Laxus' magic grew with his anger, he was going to hit Gajeel and if he did Gajeel could die. Lightning went straight towards Gajeel and time seamed to slow down. Gajeel wasn't strong enough to block after the fight he had with Natsu. Before I knew what I was doing I jumped. Pain surged through my body.

Gajeel's POV

Laxus' lightning came at me, if it hit me it could kill me and everyone knew it, but it never came instead I was pushed back by a now limp and almost lifeless Y/N. Laxus rushed over.

Laxus' POV

I.. I hit Y/N. I ran towards her and Gajeel, I reached out to take her from him, but he pulled her closer to his chest "Y-Y/N". Gajeel walked towards the infirmary. Was she dead did I kill her?

Natsu's POV

Y/N eyes finally opened. "are you ok lil sis?!" Her arms, torso and left leg were wrapped in bandages " I-is Gajeel alright?" She whispered, it was obvious she was pushing herself to speak . "yeah he's fine thanks to you" what she said next surprised me " what about Laxus? Is he alright?" It took me a moment to process what she said "why should you care?! He hurt you and if I have anything to do with it he'll never hurt anyone again" I cracked my knuckles and got up "wait" Y/N sat up and began to climb out of the infirmary bed "you need to rest Y/N " she ignored me and limped our the door.

Y/N POV

I limped out of the infirmary and made my way to Gajeel. I had to be sure he was alright and to apologise. "Gajeel" I sat down beside him he was resting his head on the table, it had gotten quite late and most of the guild had left. He lifted his head and turned to look at me "Y-" I cut him of "are you alright?" I questioned "y-yeah thanks for sav..." he mumbled the last part, but I could tell he was thanking me for saving him "I'm sorry" I apologised "sorry for what? You didn't do anything it was all Laxus' fault" he tried to reassure me, but I couldn't help feeling guilty. "it was my fault. I shouldn't have asked you to stay" I got up and left for my house.

-the next day-

Lucy's POV

I was sitting at a table with Natsu, we still hadn't seen Y/N yet. "Hey Natsu? Where has Y/N been all this time anyway?" Natsu looked up at me "oh right no one told ya! She went out on a decade mission, she was meant to be gone longer then 7 years. I never asked if she completed it" 'she must be pretty strong to go on a decade mission' "so is she an S-class wizard? And how come you've never talked about her before?" The smile was wiped of off Natsu's face "uh yeah she is an S-Class wizard... I guess she was gone so long I forgot that you didn't know her"
