"Did you check this article out, Y/N?" Y/N's friend showed her the online article about Lewis; which talked about his partying ways and all that. Y/N nodded her head and shrugged her shoulders as if it wasn't a big deal for her.

"Yeah, but I don't see what it has to do with me, F/N." Y/N rolled her eyes as she got up from her seat on the couch and strolled to the kitchen to grab the bag of chips.

"The man is practically begging for your hand," F/N rolled her eyes back at her friend as soon as she came back from the kitchen and with the bag in her hands. "Which, I don't know why you still are suspicious of him, Y/N."

Y/N sighed as she took her seat down on the couch, once again, and rubbed her hands together, "I just can't get myself to trust him yet. He seems like a nice guy, I'm sure, but..."

F/N nodded her head in a defeated way and felt crushed, "I don't think he's going to break your heart, Y/N/N." She wanted her friend to be happy, but at the same time, she knew about the doubts she had with Lewis.

"It's not that I think he's going to break my heart," Y/N sighed as she looked down at the hardwood floor, "I'm just not sure if I can handle the constant rumors about him and I'm not sure how I would be when he's gone ninety-percent of the time."

Little did Y/N know, Lewis was coming over to F/N's apartment to hang out with them, but he couldn't help but overhear the conversation between her and Y/N. Lewis felt his heart break into a million pieces when he heard Y/N telling her that she didn't trust him yet. Lewis backed away from the wall, turning himself around and walked back to the elevator; not feeling to hang out anymore.

"Lewis?" Y/N spoke up with a tone of surprise in her voice as she saw the Brit standing outside her apartment. "What are you doing here?"

"I came around to see if you and I could have a little chat?" Lewis scratched his neck, not wanting to mention to her that he heard the conversation she and F/N had a few days ago.

"Um, sure, we could talk," Y/N nodded her head, feeling confused as to why he decided to come around for a visit. "Please, come on in."

She stepped aside and made way for him to enter her apartment, "what a lovely and well-designed apartment you have, Y/N."

Y/N blushed and turned bright pink at Lewis' compliment as she went into her kitchen and got a glass of water for Lewis. "Thank you, please, take a seat on the couch."

He nodded his head and took a seat on her couch, observing the pictures of Y/N and her friends and family that were hanging on the cream walls of her living room.

"That picture was of me and my family back when I graduated from college and earned my bachelor's degree," Y/N commented, making Lewis float back to reality and saw Y/N offering him a glass of water.

"Thank you," he shyly smiled as he took the glass of water in his hands and took a sip. His brown eyes flickered to Y/N's E/C eyes as he set the glass down on the coaster in front of him.

Y/N cleared her throat and spoke up, "so, what did you want to talk about?" She cut straight to the chase and wanted to know what they were going to talk about.

"Look, Y/N, I'm not the guy you think I am," Lewis took a deep breath in and looked at her. "I'm not some party boy who's only in it for the money."

Y/N sat there silently and was shocked, how did he... Oh no, he heard the conversation between her and F/N.

"And, I would never break somebody's heart just for the sake of it," Lewis shook his head, his anger starting boil over the many rumors spread about him over the internet and social media. "Yes, my career does have me away from home for ninety-percent of the year... But, I would do my damn best to make sure you are also happy. Y/N, I'm not the materialistic guy the media makes me out to be."

"And, how should I know that you're telling me the truth?" Y/N sighed as she leaned back into the couch cushion and immediately, he whipped his phone out and started to play with it until he got to a photo he took last night.

"I spent the time I had with my two dogs, Roscoe and Coco," he showed her the photo of the two dogs all cuddled up on his lap. "Sure, I go out to parties, but that's only once in awhile. I don't party until the sun is out every day."

Y/N started to feel guilty and felt that Lewis was telling her the actual truth from the bottom of his heart. His home screen was even a picture of him and Roscoe together while they were home.

"Please," Lewis' voice turned into a hoarse whisper as he was about to break down into tears, "just please trust me."

Y/N nodded her head and leaned in to kiss him on the lips. At first, Lewis was caught off guard, but he soon got into the kiss and kissed her back with just as much passion and also was gentle about it.

"I believe you now, Hamilton," Y/N whispered back to him as they pulled away from the kiss, "I trust you now."

"Well in that case," Lewis smirked as he nodded his head towards her front door, "would you like to go out to dinner with me?"

"Let me grab my jacket and I'll meet you by the elevator," she smirked back at him as she got up from her seat once again and rushed to her bedroom.
