Chapter 10

Duri had spent most of the morning trying on every single dress in her closet before finally deciding on a cream and burgundy one she'd never worn. It had drop sleeves and small burgundy flowers across the cream bodice that looked as if they were falling slowly to the bottom of the skirt. The dress came down to just above the knee, and tiny crystals so small they looked like glitter sat in the center of some of the flowers. She carefully picked out matching burgundy heels with small ties that would wrap around her leg below the knee. She wanted to him to see her in a way he'd never seen her before. He'd seen her in a wedding dress, but it wasn't one she had picked. Her mother had gone to the store with Minho's mother and picked it for her. Not to mention, things between them were very different now then they were half a year ago.

Finally leaving her walk in closet after 3 hours. She settled down on her bed and saw an email from Taeyeong. Rolling her eyes she opened it wondering why he didn't just call or text her.

Hey, so my phone fell in my toilet this morning and it's not working, so I'm hoping you answer this.

She rolled her eyes again thinking it was ironic. His phone must have fallen into the same toilet their friendship did yesterday.

I feel bad about our argument, but I think you're making a mistake. Honestly, Duri, I only have your best interests at heart and I don't want to see you hurt. You're already stuck in a messy marriage with the dude. Why make it even more messy? There's so many other guys out there that could treat you so much better.

Duri slammed her laptop shut and felt her anger welling up in her stomach, before she remembered her conversation with Minho the night they fought. Why does he not want me to be happy? Why does Tae just not understand that things can change? She put her head in her hands and took a few deep breaths before she stood up and decided she'd talk to Jae. She always had great advice.

"Jae?" She called as she got to the bottom of the stairs.

"In the living room!" She called back.

"Can I talk to you about something?" She asked as she plopped herself down next the woman as she did her daily crossword.

"If you're going to ask me what to wear, please understand I know nothing about fashion." She joked looking at Duri over the top of her reading glasses.

"No, it's something else." She sighed loudly as she sat back.

"Is it Minho? I thought you two were finally getting along?" She asked worried.

"No. Minho and I are good. It's my friend Taeyeon. He's insisting that I'm crazy for giving Minho a chance, after everything. He thinks I should shouldn't trust him and that he's just going to hurt me. We met up for lunch about a week ago and he just ripped into me for wanting to make things in this marriage work. He was so angry that I had feelings for him." She paused "I don't want to be like my parents, Jae. They were arranged thirty years ago. They don't talk to each other, they won't even sit in the same room together, the don't sleep in the same room. They're like roommates that don't like each other. My childhood was weird. I knew they both loved me, but it was very apparant to me at a young age that they didn't love each other. I want more then that, I want better then that, and Tae knows that. He knows what it was like for me at home as a kid."

Jae Woo sat there silently listening until Duri was done. Duri didn't realize until she was done that she had tears and mascara staining her cheeks.

"Honey..." She cooed as she held Duri's hand. "You and Minho already seem to have it better then that. I think you need to tell him exactly what you just told me. He needs to understand why you so badly want to stay. He seems to make you very happy the last couple months. The two of you are communicating now in a way you weren't before. If your friend can't see that and accept it, then maybe he's jealous."

"Why would he be jealous?" Duri asked, not realizing how dense she was being.

"Duri. You're beautiful inside and out, who wouldn't be attracted to that?" Duri paused staring off into an empty part of the room as her brain started churning at what Jae Woo said.

"Nooo, that can't be it, we've been friends since we were in high school. He was always there for me, especially after a breakup an---OH GOD" She said her eyes wide. "Oh my god, how did I....oh no" She said putting her hands up over her mouth in shock.

"Maybe you need to talk to him" Jae suggested as she went back to her crossword.

"Oh no" She said as she leaned back in to couch in shock, "How did I miss that? That....he knows I've never seen him that way."

"That doesn't mean he's not in love with you. You can't ignore what your heart wants, Duri" She said glancing back at her. Duri slowly got up off the couch and walked back upstairs still in shock that she'd never caught on to the reason Tae was so against Minho. She knew part of it was him being protective, but was he being over protective because of how he felt. She shook her head to clear her mind and decided she'd give Tae a few more days to simmer before she sat down with him to talk about her new realization.

By the time it was three pm, Duri started getting ready. She let her hair fall in large curls over her shoulders and did her makeup, and when she heard Minho come in the door she had just reached the bottom of the stairs.

He stopped dead in his tracks and just stared at her. He knew she was beautiful but he'd never seen her like this. Her long dark hair was all pulled to the side and hung over her left shoulder in large curls that still managed to frame her face. He couldn't make his brain work even if he wanted to.

"Take a picture, Minho, it'll last longer" Duri joked as she walked closer to him.

"Very funny" He managed to get out as she said goodbye to Jae for the night. The cuddling and the kissing wasn't enough for him anymore. He was fighting the part of his brain that wanted more then that, and the way she looked tonight was making that really difficult.

When they got to the restaurant, they were seated at a table in a quiet back corner of the dimly lit room. Large vintage gold frames hung from the walls, showcasing classically styled paintings, while the carpet was a deep emerald green. The black tables and chairs only added to the dark romantic atmosphere.

Eventually she looked up from her menu to see Minho staring at her with his menu flat on the table. She could tell she made the right choice with the dress, even just in the car she saw him glancing over at her while driving.

"Do I have something on my face, Mr. Lee?" She asked innocently, pretending she had no clue why he'd be staring at her like that.

"Am I not allowed to stare at my wife?" He asked feigning innocence. He couldn't stop staring, he may as well joke about it. He had no interest in food, he had a hard enough time trying to even read the menu without staring at her.

"Since when am I actually your wife? You never call me that." She said not looking up. She knew what she was doing to him, and she was enjoying the fact that he was squirming like a worm on a hook.

"Doesn't mean I can't start now." He couldn't help but laugh at the look she gave him when he said that. She smiled and shook her head as the waiter came to table, took their order and walked away quickly with the menus.

Duri was having fun making dinner difficult for him, she had to admit, she'd do anything to see him look at her like that everyday. He'd look perfectly normal and then the second he looked at her his eyes dilated and he looked like he was on another planet. He thought he was doing a good job of hiding it, but she didn't want him to. He didn't look half bad himself in black dress pants, white dress shirt, and black suit jacket. They sat there longer then they realized when the waiter came over and let them know they'd be closing in ten minutes.

When they left the restaurant it was much colder then it had been when they got there a couple hours ago. The cold air nipped at their faces as the wind picked up slightly. Seeing Duri shiver while waiting for the valet to bring the car, he took his jacket off and put it around her shoulders, before slipping his arm around her waist. She leaned against him for warmth, and Minho kissed the top of her head.

When they got home it was already after eleven. Tired they headed upstairs, she went to head towards her room, but Minho stopped her.

"Uh uh" He said with a smirk on his face.

"Use your words" She said smiling.

"I am using words." He said quietly as he closed the gap between them and lifted her chin up so he could see her eyes in the dim hallway light. He leaned in and kissed her, but this was different then the other two kisses they'd shared. Duri could tell there was a want and need behind it that hadn't been there before. He gently pulled her in even closer to him before she wrapped her arms around his neck and they started moving towards his room.

He shut the door behind them with his foot as he felt her fingers on the buttons of his shirt. He moved his kisses from her mouth to her neck as he unzipped the back of her dress, all the while never letting his lips leave some part of her exposed skin. She had her hands on his bare chest desperately pushing the rest of his now untucked shirt onto the floor.

Slowly piece by piece their clothes started to gather on the floor before he picked her up and she wrapped her legs around his waist. Eventually, laying her down on the bed and hovering above her. He moved his lips back to her neck and along her collarbone before slowly moving back to her lips.

Their hands roaming each other bodies like there were treasures to be found in their skin. Soft moans heard back and forth between them as their breath became heavy. The small noises she made in his ear only spurred him on wanting to hear more of them. Their bodies moved together so perfectly that eventually they both couldn't hold on any longer.

Later, Duri snuggled up to him like she had every other night that week and put her head on his chest. Minho played with her hair wanting to say the words that had been on the tip of his tongue for weeks now.

"Can I tell you something?" Minho asked his whispers loud in the silent house.

Propping herself up on one arm she looked at him, "What's that?"

Taking a moment to pause he brushed her hair behind her ear smiling softly at her, "I love you"

Duri smiled at him and kissed him, he could tell from the look on her face that she felt the same way. "I love you too, Minho"
