Chapter-3

After getting into the cab, Wu xie instructed tthe driver to follow the GPS on his phone.

"Wu Xie, what is this GPS leading to? Will it really lead us to the correct location? Was the cave really on the google maps?!" Pangzi asked and the latter smirked.

"And you call me naive? Come on Panzi, how can that place be on the freaking maps? I may not look like it, but I can be smart when the situation calls for it. When i was treating Xiaoge's wound, I installed a tracking device on the band-aid without his realizing." Wu Xie said with utter cofidence and pride while Fatty patted his back.

"Looks like our little Wu Xie is growing up huh?' He teased and Wu Xie only swatted his hand away with a soft glare.

Suddenly, the car came to a stop and the two friends shared a questioning glance and immediately turned to question the driver.

"Is something the matter?" Wu Xie asked.

"Yeah, something wrong old man?" Pangzi added only to recieve a slap on the head.

"Be a little more respectful would ya?" Wu Xie whispered angrily and Pangzi apologized softly.

"This is as far as I can take you, my car cannot go further than this. Sorry kiddos." The driver apologized.

"No problem uncle! We can contiue on foot from here." Wu Xie said politely as he paid the fare of the cab. Bidding farewell, the duo began making their way into the forest-like area.

The place was enchantingly beautiful. Trees allowed only partial sunlight to reach the ground, giving the effect of rays peeking through the sky, illuminating dust partciles that looked almost like fairy dust. Birds were chirping sweet songs and Wu Xie found himself silently wishing he had come here for a picnic instead.

The trail wasn't that difficult but it wasn't a walk in the park either. Judging by the damp soil, it had recently rained, making the place an excellent breeding ground for mosquitoes. The trail started slanting indicating that there were in for a climb.

"Wu Xie, you stay here, I'll scout ahead for any trouble ok?" Pangzi said and Wu Xie nodded. Pangzi made his way ahead of Wu Xie and the latter took this time to take in the beauty of his surroundings once agan. No matter how many times he would visit, a forest was always the most beautiful and favourite part of every trip.

"Oi, Wu Xie! the coast is clear, hurry up!" Pangzi's loud voice snapped his out of daze and he began to cautiously walk up to the former. "Here, take my hand." Pangzi offered and the latter gladly accepted.

"Alright, which direction are supposed to head in tiger?"

Wu Xie pulled out his phone and saw that the group wasn't too far away, probably half an hour on foot and they would catch up.
"North, let's go!" Wu Xie ordered and Pangzi followed.

After a few minutes, Wu Xie bagan feeling a little strange, as if someone was watching him.
"Hey Pangzi, do you also feel that gaze or is it just me?"

"What gaze? I don't feel anything. You're probably paranoid, or maybe it just my gaxe." Pangzi dismissed off Wu Xie's worry but the latter couldn't shake that feeling off no matter how hard he tried. He was walking ahead of Pangzi and was sure the gaze was not his partner's gaze.

"Yah Pangzi, I-" Wu Xie turned around and saw no one. Pangzi was gone! But where?

He wouldn't leave without saying anything. That guy informs me even before going to the bathroom.

"Pangzi! Pangzi! Where are you?" Wu Xie screamed out while looking everywhere. He focused all his energy into hearing even the slightest sounds that could be made by his partner. Wu Xie was scared something might have happened to his best friend and he began to panic.

Frantically, he kept calling out to Pangzi and waited for a reply. Unknowingly, he started walking backwards till he had reached a very high cliff.

"Pangzi! Wher-AH!" He hadn't realized where he had reached and fell off of the cliff.

Closing his eyes in fear, it took him a whole minute to register that he wasn't falling anymore, but dangling like a rag doll in mid air. Someone caught his arm!

"Xiaoge!" Wu Xie exclaimed happily while the latter only had his stone cold expression. Xiaoge pulled Wu Xie up with extreme ease, shocking him at the brilliant show of his strength. Considering how lean Xiaoge was, Wu Xie wasn't expecting it.

"Why are you here?" Xiaoge asked in his low voice and Wu Xie looked down in embarrassment. He couldn't tell Xiaoge he came here just because of his childish stubborness.

"I came to find out the mystery at the Cavern of the Blood Zombies." He replied, he wasn't lying, just not telling the whole truth.

"You must leave, it's very dangerous for you." Xiaoge warned and Wu Xie yet again frowned.

"I can't leave, not without Pangzi. I dragged him here so its my responsibility to take him back too." Wu Xie argued.

"It's still not wise to stay here. We can search for your friend, but you must leave. It is really dangerous for you." Xiaoge repeated, although his voice was monotonous, it carried a hint of concern.Β

Here we go again.

"It's dangerous for me but not for you?"

"No."

"Fine then, like I said, I am not leaving without Pangzi and if it not dangerous for you, then I will stay by your side for this entire trip."

Xiaoge sighed, he had never met someone so stubborn and was tempted to knock him unconcious to take him back home, but he couldn't bear the thought of hurting Wu Xie.

Come on Zhang, you've killed so many creatures before while this is just a mere human. You're not even gonna kill him so why do you feel like it would hurt you more than him?

"Okay, but you have to promise me. Never leave my side." Xiaoge made Wu Xie promise who easily complied.

"Fine, I'll never leave your side."
