Chapter 8

Later that day Joy flew in carrying Nashi who looked in worse shape than the day before. Nashi took a seat at the bar looking at Nova. "Do you want something to eat?" She asked Nashi with a smile. Nashi shook her head, "No thanks."

"We've gotta do something," Igneel said to everyone gesturing to Nashi trying not to fall asleep on the counter. "Alright," Storm stood up and began walking towards Nashi. "Ice Make: Hammer," Nashi was so tired she couldn't react fast enough. Storm hit her and knocked her out cold. "What the hell was that?" Igneel yelled at Storm looking at his sister unconscious. "If she's out cold she can't dream, but her body is still resting." The guys went silent and all looked at eachother. "I guess that makes sense," Gray finally said. "It's only a temporary solution, we can't keep hitting Nashi on the head," Simon said. "I don't think she can take anymore brain damage," Gajeel said laughing before Emery smacked his arm. "Well it'll give her an hour until we watch her tonight," Storm said, walking back to his seat. Later in the day Lucy, Levy, and Gale came back from the library with a stack of books each.

"New books?" Gajeel asked Levy and Gale. "We found some stuff that could help Nashi," Gale said, setting the books on the table. "Really? That's great," Igneel said excitedly, taking a seat at the table. "We think the curse can be broken in two ways," Levy said. "First we think if the person affected overcomes the nightmares the curse will be broken." Gale nodded, "The problem is we have no idea what each person's nightmares encompass." Lucy continued, "Meaning we don't know the danger the person faces." She looked over at Nashi and sighed. "Well what's the other way?" Natsu said. "Beating the crap out of the guy who controls the worm curse," Gale said. "Then let's focus on finding this guy and giving him a beating," Natsu said, punching his hands together.

Lucy nodded at Natsu's enthusiasm and sighed, "We don't know anything about this guy though. Whatever happened to true love's kiss?" Levy placed a reassuring hand on Lucy's back, "Don't worry Lu, we are all doing our best to figure it out." "Agreed and tomorrow we will have more information and support," Simon told the group. "Simon is right, in the meantime let's try to get Nashi through another night." Igneel said looking over at his sister. "Do you want me to come help?" Emery asked Igneel and the other members of Team Nashi. "Nah, you need your rest. You've already done your part, now it's our turn," Gale said smiling at his younger sister. "Ugh my head," Nashi said, finally gaining consciousness. "What the hell happened?" She asked looking around at her friends and family. Everyone turned to look at Storm who was just scratching the back of his head. "Don't worry about it idiot, we're getting ready to go anyways," He finally said. A few of the members laughed at Nashi's confused face. "Go where? I'm starving," She responded back to him. Storm let out a sigh and Igneel stepped in to help him, "Come on, I'll make you some food at our place."

The group left the guild and made it to the boy's house. Igneel began cooking dinner with Nashi sitting at the table. "Geez cool it Nash, save some for the rest of us," Storm said watching Nashi devour the rice balls as fast as Igneel could make them. She mumbled something to Storm with a full mouth. "Say it don't spray it idiot," He yelled back to her, wiping his face. "You lookin to fight," Nashi said through mouthfuls of food. Storm grumbled back at her while the vein on his forehead popped, "Would you just finish eating? You're starting to piss me off." Gale started laughing at the two, "Aw look at you two fighting like an old married couple." Nashi rolled her eyes at Gale while Storm yelled, "We are not a couple." Igneel now started laughing, "Yeah, Nashi would need to know how to flirt and Storm would have to make a move for that to happen." Gale started laughing even harder when he saw Storm's red face and his crossed arms. "Huh?" Nashi said, looking confused at the boys, making them laugh louder. "Hey Igneel, why don't you demonstrate how to make a move on Emery," Storm finally said smirking at him. The blonde mage's face turned red and Gale stopped laughing. He raised his pierced eyebrow at Igneel, "Did he just mention my sister?" Now Storm and Nashi were laughing. Simon finally returned home and pulled up a chair at the table.

"Yum looks good," Simon said, grabbing some of the food before Nashi did. "What's the plan for tonight?" Simon asked the group. "I think I'm going to go home and take a bath," Nashi responded to the group. "Why can't you bathe here?" Igneel asked his sister. "This place smells and besides I don't have any of my clothes and stuff." Igneel signed, "I didn't think about that. Can't you just sleep in that? It's not like you're wearing that much anyways." He pointed to her shorts, strapless cropped top, vest, and dragon scale scarf. Nashi's eye twitched at her brother. "Fine, I'm going to take a bath." She stormed off to one of the bathrooms. Meanwhile the boys worked out a plan to make it through the night.

Nashi finished her bath, dried off, and slipped on her clothes from earlier. When she walked out she noticed everyone seemed to be in their rooms. "Hey," She turned slightly to see Storm standing in his room doorway. He held out a large black t-shirt and offered it to her. "Thanks," She said, taking the shirt from him and walking into the bathroom to change. Once she finished she walked out wearing Storm's large shirt with her white scale scarf wrapped around her neck, "That's way better." Storm turned to walk into his room to hide the blush and smile now appearing on his face.

Nashi made her way over to the couch and laid down. She could feel the exhaustion hit her once again and closed her eyes to let out a frustrated sigh. "Here," opening her eyes she saw Storm handing her a pillow. She offered him a small smile and took it, "You don't need it?" Storm shook his head, "Nah, I don't know how much sleep I'm going to get and besides, I have more." She placed the pillow behind her head and sank into the couch. She let out a low growl, "I just want some damn sleep." Storm took a seat on the floor resting his back on the couch where Nashi was laying. The two sat in silence for a while. "I'll be fine, I doubt I'll be able to sleep anyways, you should get some rest Storm," Nashi finally said. Storm got up and walked to his room. She thought he was going to bed, but moments later he returned with blankets and pillows from his room. She giggled as she watched Storm make himself a bed right on the floor below her. He then covered Nashi in a blanket and turned the lights off.

"I guess if you don't plan on sleeping I won't either," Storm said quietly laying down on the floor. She turned to face him and rolled her eyes. Storm looked into Nashi's brown eyes as she let out a yawn. "I'll be right here Nash, try to sleep for a little bit." He said quietly. She pulled the blanket up and wrapped it around herself, taking in Storm's scent all around her. She felt her eyes flutter closed and drifted off to sleep. Storm rolled over laying on his back after making sure she was asleep. "Is she okay?" Igneel said standing over Storm with Gale next to him. Storm nodded and sat up, "Yeah." "Damn did you move your whole room out here?" Gale asked, looking at all the pillows and blankets. Storm rolled his eyes, "None of you idiots thought to give her any pillows or blankets." "I knew I was forgetting something," Igneel said scratching the back of his head. "I just figured she'd sleep in Storm's room," Gale said frankly. "Idiot," Storm said, rolling his eyes and laying back on his made up bed on the floor. Igneel narrowed his eyes at Gale and smacked him on the head.

The boys took turns waking up Nashi through the night. Gale sat up reading some of the books during his turn while Simon drew new ideas for his armour. Each came to sit in the living room on the other couch while Nashi slept except Storm who never moved from his bed on the floor. "Hey Storm, your turn again." Igneel said, looking exhausted while waking up Storm. "Alright I'm up," Storm said sitting up. "This should be the last shift until morning," Igneel said walking over to his room. Storm nodded and sat up with his back on the couch. This sucks, we are all exhausted Storm thought to himself.

Storm accidentally dozed off but awoke to Nashi quietly growling. He shot right up, "Crap, Nashi I'm so sorry." Nashi was shaking, blood dripping from her arms and forehead. Storm quickly got the first aid kit and began treating her injuries. After Storm finished he saw her still shaking, she looked up and his heart broke when he saw the tears in her brown eyes. She tried to offer him a fake smile saying, "I'm okay, don't worry." Storm sat down next to Nashi and put his arms around her pulling her close to his chest. Nashi's eyes went wide but she didn't fight him. She tried to hold in the tears when she heard Storm whisper, "It's okay to let it out Nash. It's just me here." The tears began to flow from her eyes as she silently cried into his chest. Storm wrapped his arms tighter around her and rubbed her back to calm her down.

"I feel alone and weak in there," She finally whispered. Storm let out a sigh and lifted Nashi's chin to look at him. She searched his blue eyes, then he placed his forehead on hers. She closed her eyes as a few more tears fell. "We're going to figure all this out, today." She nodded at his reassurance and finally gave a small smile. "Thanks Stormy," she said quietly as he pulled away and looked at her. "Now let's try to get some rest so we can get this guy," He said and she nodded at him. He got up to go lay down on the floor again, "Could you stay up here with me?" He turned to see Nashi looking at him with a slight red blush on her cheeks. He climbed back on the couch this time sitting behind Nashi with his legs on each side of her. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her towards him, her back resting on his chest. Nashi pulled the blanket over them and rested her head on Storm's arm. Storm smiled to himself when he heard Nashi's soft purring and he rested his head back closing his eyes and falling asleep.

(Storm POV)

Later in the morning

The light shining through the windows was bright but I could feel warmth around me preventing me from waking up. Finally I forced my eyes open and saw pink in my arms. Nashi. I smiled seeing her sleeping in my arms. I could get used to this, I sighed knowing that I needed to wake her.

"Nashi," I said shaking her awake, "Time to get up." She slowly sat up, her long pink hair was all over the place and I couldn't help but laugh. "Shut up," She said standing up and stretching. I watched as she began folding and cleaning up the blankets. Igneel walked out, "Hey Nashi, are you going home already?" Nashi nodded at him, "Yeah I want to go home, change, then get some food at the guild hall. Raiden and them will be back today, I want to see how it went." Ugh my blood boiled when she mentioned Raiden. "I'll walk you back," Igneel said, grabbing his coat. I walked towards the kitchen, why did I feel so angry whenever Nashi wanted to see or spent time with Raiden?

"Something on your mind?" Simon asked me looking up from his cup of tea. I came back to reality and looked at him shaking my head, "just tired." He raised an eyebrow at me, "You looked very cozy last night curled up with Nashi." I felt my face heat up when he said it, "I don't know what the hell you're talking about." I saw a small smile on the corner of his mouth, "Oh not even your shirt Nashi was wearing? Or her curling up in your blankets and pillows?" I should just knock this guy out. I turned my head to grab some coffee and hide the red on my face. "Well whatever happened, Nashi was resting peacefully in your arms." He never gives up does he? I fought the urge to smile when he said that.

3rd POV

(Later at the Guild)

Nashi was sleeping on one of the benches while the rest of Team Nashi was waiting for Jellal and Crime Sorciere along with the thunder legions. Then the doors flew open while Jellal and the rest of Crime Sorciere walked in. "Hi Dad," Simon said, walking over to greet his father and the other members. "Hi Rob," Emery said to Simon's 16 year old younger brother. Rob smiled up at Emery. He had Jellal's blue hair with Erza's determined eyes. Jellal walked over to Erza and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, "Erza, it's good to see you." He told her softly while he saw the slight blush on her cheeks.

The guild was lively while everyone was catching up. "Alright let's get down to business. Someone wake up Nashi," Gramps said after everyone had time to talk. Ur ran over to the sleeping Nashi, "Nash time to wake up." Ur struggled and couldn't wake her. "I'll help," Igneel said, walking over. He noticed instantly that something was wrong. Nashi had black scales with hints of red beginning on her arms. There was blood coming from cuts on her head and carvings on her chest. "Wendy," Igneel screamed causing everyone to stop and rush over.
