Chapter Three ; Bury a Friend

A/N; Sorry if this isn't one of my more better chapters.

Samantha closed her eyes as she tried to tune everything out. Everything begin the questions. Their questions. Their as in the team of earths supposed mightiest heroes that stood around Samantha. It was uncomfortable. Really, uncomfortable as Percy had stormed away leaving her all alone to deal with these mortals. Which sucked because she didn't do crowds of people. Even both everything. Samantha sighed. They weren't going to drop this. Not that she blames them. Curiosity is natural thing, much like how death is; It's inevitable and will always be in back your mind and controlling every motion you make. So, she knows they won't give up in tell all their questions answered. Especially, Tony's annoying questions.

" Me and Percy are both Greek demigods. Though Percy did serve time as a Roman demigod but is she a naturally born and raised Greek. " She finally breathed out. Her eyes falling to the floor in front of her as her stomach churned uneasily. " Demigods are the product of a god coming down to earth and having interactions with mortal. Which means, demigods are only half god and half mortal." She explained further.

" If you half god then why did you guys flip out on Thor? Is it some sort blood purity thing like in Harry Potter?" Questioned Tony. Samantha instantly looked away at the mere mention of the male Asgardian.

" It's complicated. He Norse, I'm Greek. Where very, very, very different and where both from two different worlds... It's just up things work. Okay, ....just don't question it." She tried to explain flatly.

" Thor also mentioned something about a war?"

" No," she states firmly. Her eyes shift upwards and towards them before turning into a cold and sinister glare. " I can't speak any more about that. It's a very private and serious matter for us Greek. Hell, I shouldn't even be telling you any of all this to begin with." Said Samantha. The others fall silent.

" Then why are you?" Questioned Natasha skeptically. Samantha fell silent.

" Because...Because... I don't know. Okay! Is that what want to hear. That I'm a girl surrounded by death, powers I can't control worth shit and I just so tried of lying and keeping secrets and pretending that everything okay when it's clearly not." Snapped Samantha in agitation. The room fell silent as did Samantha. She didn't mean to have an outburst but she just couldn't handle anymore.

" Uncontrollable Powers?" Steve questioned.

" The curse of Thanatos." She explained.  " I'm pretty much a banshee."

" How long have you had it."

" For long time..."

- flashback-

Samantha glanced around the valley and tried to remembering how camp Half-Blood looked the first time she layed eyes on it. It seemed like billion years ago that she arrived. From the dinning pavilion she could see pretty much everything. Hills ringed the valley on the tallest, Half Blood Hill. Thalia's pine tree stood with the golden fleece hanging from it's branches, magically protecting Camp from it's enimes. The guard dragon, Peleus was so big that Samantha could see him, sending smoke signals as he snored. To her right was woods. To her left was canoe lake and the climbing wall that was pouring lava down one side of it. Twelve cabins, one for each Olympian gods made a horseshoe shape pattern around the common area. Farther south was the strawberry fieds ,The armory , And the four story big house.

In some way, Camp hadn't changed. But you couldn't see war by looking at the buildings or the fields. You could see it in the faces of the Demigods and the sytrs. Sirena let out a soft sigh as she made her way towards were Percy was standing. There seemed to be a bug crowed sounding her. Samantha managed to push past some of the people so that she could get to her friend. Samantha watch as Chiron galloped over to Percy before she could get to her.

" Thank the gods. But where's ..." Said Chiron. Soon Annabeth came rushing right behind Chiron. Her blonde hair was in it usual mess and pulled into a ponytail. She wore her orange camp Half-Blood shirt along with dark blue jeans. Silena Beauregard pushed her way past Samantha and made her way towards Percy.

" Where's Charlie." Silena demanded. She looked around like he might have been hiding. Percy glanced at Chiron helplessly. The old centaur cleared his throat.

" Silena, my dear let's talk about this at the big house."  Said Chiron sincerely.

" No. No." She muttered. She started to cry. Sirena instainly made her way to her friends side as did Clarisse.

" Come on girl. Let's get you to the big house. I'll make you some hot chocolate."
Said Clarisse speaking solftly to the girl. It seemed so out of charcter for Clarisse. Silena's eyes softed abit as her two best friends lead her to the big house. Silena's sorrow filled eyes were so salient. Samantha couldn't help but shake in fear as she placed her hand of her throat. She had gotten new power that night. Her new power was scream. Scream warning of death. She had subconsciously known of Charlie's death and it made her absolutely sick.
