Rowing Our Way through the Lagoon

Hello! My name is BlessedLove14! (Say in a PewDiePie voice. Just do it!) Anywway. So I decided that Andy Biersack would play Jaxon but I need to make this very clear. Jaxon is not Andy Biersack! Yes, your going to learn new things about Jaxon in this chapter but I swear he is NOT Andy in desigues. I promise. Now I hope you enjoy the chapter and get ready for the next one!

Your Sweet Author,

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I lay on the pull-out couch bed listening to the Thirty Seconds to Mars album I had on my phone as I tried to sleep. It felt impossible. I was finally tired enough to fall into a sleep but it wasn’t a good one.

Dream:

“Mom!” I screamed as I saw her thrown up against the wall by the hands of my father.

His evil laughter continuing on and on as he started to walk up to me. I tried to move but I couldn’t. He pulled out a knife and I just kept screaming and just before he was about to stab me in the heart I was woken up by Jaxon.

“Rowan, Rowan it’s okay. It was just a dream, Rowan.” He said as I hugged him tight tears running down my tired eyes.

“He’s going to kill both of us. He’s going to…” I said to him over and over again in shock.

ƱƱƱ

Last night was a horrible one. The dream kept popping into my head every single time I wasn’t asleep. I was also completely embarrassed. I had woken Jaxon up to my dreadful screaming and I felt so bad.

He told me over and over again that it was okay but I still felt horrible. He offered to stay with me until I could fall asleep again but I told him it was fine. I never did fall asleep though so around seven I got up and looked in the fridge. Eggs and bread. I put a couple eggs into a warm pan while I put the bread into the toaster. I made scrambled eggs and buttered the bread putting them on two plates. I set my plate down on the table as I took Jaxon’s into his room.

“Morning.” I said in a bright voice as I placed the plate on his bedside table.

He moaned and put the covers over his head and then when he smelt the food in his room he gratefully sat up in bed.

“Rowan. You ruined my plan.” He said taking a bite of the toast.

“How so?” I said crossing my arms over my chest.

He finished chewing and then looked up at me with his beautiful bright green eyes.

“I was going to make you breakfast.” He said to me.

Holding out his hand and placing the plate on the table I didn’t expect him to basically throw me over the bed when I grabbed it but he did and I ended up below him. That was the moment I realized just how many tattoo’s he had.

There he was, his body hovering over mine. He had no shirt on and his black hair was all messy from sleeping. I saw every tattoo on his chest. I mean his chest was basically covered in them which I found very attractive.

“I’m sorry. Should I have not made you breakfast?” I asked jokingly.

“No. Now you get payback.” He said to me with a devious smile.

“Payback?” I said before getting interrupted and tickled to death.

I squirmed underneath him as he tickled my sides. The sound of our laughter filled the room and also the sound of me trying to get away helped the energy.

“Stop!” I said as he continued his evil deeds.

“Why? Is someone ticklish?” He responded back to me.

“Yes!” I said back to him.

He stopped but then pinned my arms over my head looking down at me.

“What’s the magic sentence?” He said with his smile.

“Will you please let me go so you can eat your breakfast that I made for you?” I said to him trying to even my heartbeat.

He sat back on my legs and pretended to think before pinning my hands back down and looking at me with his beautiful face.

“Nah.” He said with a big goofy grin.

“You forced me to go there then.” I said to him before using all my strength and flipped him off the bed.

He groaned in pain as he hit the floor.

“Damn you’re strong.” He said looking up at me.

“Get up off your butt and eat the food I made alright?” I said crawling off the bed and exiting the room.

I dug into the food yawning as I did which I thought was funny because I didn’t have to force my mouth open to take a bite. Oh jeez, who have I become?

I was just finishing the plate when I heard Jaxon trying to sneak up on me. I waited just until he was in arms reach before turning around and taking him to the ground.

“Jesus women! How did you know?” He asked me as I now held him down on the floor.

“Easy answer. I have eyes in the back on my head.” I said with a smile.

I got off him and helped him up from the floor. I took my plate to the kitchen and washed it off before drying it and putting it back in the shelf it came from. After I did that was when I realized tomorrow was Monday.

I walked back into the living room and made the bed before laying down on the floor and closing my eyes.

“Uh… Rowan, are you alright?” I heard Jaxon say to me.

“No. I don’t like Monday’s.” I said sitting up and looking at him.

Jaxon started to laugh and we walked over to me and sat down across from me.

“Your hair is a bit staticky.” He said smoothing down my hair.

I looked at him, my lower lip poking out.

“Why do you got to laugh at me?” I said crossing my arms.

“Because you’re so damn adorable and stubborn and when someone’s hair is staticky you have to admit that you laugh at them.” He said grabbing my hand in his.

I nodded and then smiled. Whenever I was around Jaxon all I did was smile. It was a nice feeling, being happy all the time. Jaxon pulled me into his lap and we sat there just talking for a good thirty minutes. It was a good thing because we didn’t really know anything about each other.

“What’s your birthday?” I asked Jaxon as I played with a strand of his hair.

“April Tenth. Yours?” asked looking at me with a smile.

“May Fourteenth.” I said returning the smile.

Jaxon looked at me a moment and then cleared his throat looking away.

“What’s wrong?” I asked him concerned.

“It’s just that every time I look at you I want to kiss you.” He said looking back at me with an innocent smile.

I took my hand and placed it on cheek before leaning in giving him a small kiss on the lips.

“Rowan, we’ve only known each other for like two weeks so I totally understand if you say no but would you please be my girlfriend?” He asked holding me tighter as he said it.

I was just about to say yes but then I realized that there was another guy wanting to ask me that very same question. I put my head in my hands and Jaxon held me closer as if he thought I was about to cry or possibly run away.

“Jaxon, I would like to get to know you better before we make anything official. I really like you don’t get me wrong, but let’s just hang out a bit more.” I said to him feeling guilty on the inside.

His reaction surprised me because he nodded with a smile picking me up from the floor bridal style.

“What are you doing?” I said laughing as he walked out of his apartment still holding me in his arms, locking the door behind him.

“Well, I guess I’m taking you on our first real date.” He said putting his forehead to mine.

“I’m not even dressed!” I said to him as he walked towards the truck.

He stopped and looked down at me.

“You’re beautiful.” He said before he kept walking.

He opened the door and sat me down before closing it and making his way to the other side of the truck.

ƱƱƱ

I didn’t think Jaxon would ever stop driving. I think the drive took two hours straight so it was pretty long. I don’t even think we were in the same city anymore. When he did stop though, he pulled into gorgeous lagoon.

“How did you find this place?” I said sitting up in my seat observing the view in front of me.

“When I was little, my dad would take me hear with my little sister. By the time I was able to drive I knew my way here like the back of my hand.” He said looking at me with a smile.

I turned to him returning the smile.

“This is beautiful. Thank you for showing this to me, it means a lot.” I said grabbing his hand in mine.

“Come on, I’ll show you around.” Jaxon said before letting my hand and getting out of the truck.

I followed him and we connected our hands as we started to walk.

“So do you just live on your own now?” I asked him as we walked.

“Yeah, I dropped out of high school last year and moved out of the house and into that apartment. A couple of my friends and I are in a band and so I thought it would be more private.” Jaxon said to me, bringing me closer to him.

I nodded and looked at him, his green eyes were even brighter when he was outside.

“Was your dad and sister okay with you moving out?” I asked him treading lightly on the subject.

“Yeah. They support me and the band. They come see me at least once every week so I don’t get to home sick. Plus I had to pay for the place somehow so that’s why I dropped out of high school.” He said looking at me when we came to the small pier that held small a paddle boat.

Jaxon got in the boat and almost fell in but caught his balance before holding out his hands for me to jump in. I almost laughed.

“Have you not seen how clumsy I am? I’ll tip the boat over with one step!” I said to him, taking a few steps back from the pier.

“If you fall in so do I. Come on Rowan.” He said to me, keeping his arms out.

If he hadn’t let me stay last night I would have never grabbed his hands.

“One foot at a time. Place it closest to the middle as you can.” He said instructing me as I took his hands in mine.

The boat rocked violently and I took my foot back out of the boat.

“Nope! Nope can’t do it. We’re going to fall in.” I said taking my hands out of his.

“And what’s the worst thing to happen if we do fall in, we get soaked? Come on Rowan we’re going to be fine.” He said holding his hands out again.

I sighed and then grabbed his hands again.

“You’re lucky I like you.” I said to him stepping in the boat with one foot.

“Good… now the other foot.” He said ignoring my last comment.

I did what he said and although the boat rocked I sat down on the small piece of wood before it could tip. Jaxon sat down and grabbed the paddle boards and then we were off. The weeping willow that stood tall above us reminded me of the weeping willow in the movie Pocahontas where Pocahontas and John Smith officially meet.

“I would like to hear your band one day Jaxon.” I said to him before a breeze came through and sent a shiver down my spine.

“I don’t think you would like to hear my voice singing.” He said with a laugh as he continued to row.

I swatted him on the arm making the paddle splash some water onto the side of the boat.

“What was that for?” He asked as he stopped rowing.

“Why would you think I wouldn’t want to hear you play? I better the music is amazing.” I said to him in a matter-of-factly tone.

He looked down at the bottom of the boat, his black hair covering his face. In response to the way his hair ended up he slid it over to the side before looking up at me with the most (I think) adorable face in the whole world.

“You really think that?” He asked me with a slight smile on his face.

“Yeah, I do.” I said grabbing a paddle and this time purposely splashed him with water with it.

Jaxon reacted my following suit and then end the end half of our bodies were soaked while the over stayed completely dry. Jaxon rowed us back up to the pier and got out in the water and pushed the boat up onto the dirt.

“That boat is actually really well built. Was it there when your dad first came here with you and your sister?” I asked him as he helped me out of the wooden boat.

“No. My dad and I built it together the first summer we discovered the place.” He said with a proud smile.

“Really?” I asked amazed.

Jaxon was by far one of the most amazing guys I knew. He knew what he wanted and he went for it, something I wished I could do for myself.

“Yeah. I was about eight when we built her. My sister would play in the meadow over there as my dad and I would find large dead tree’s so make the base. We looked for maybe two weeks before we found her body and the seats were pretty easy. I think it’s one of the best memories I have to date.” He said wrapping his arm around my waist as we begun to walk.

“Amazing.” I said to him as we walked.

When we got back to the truck he unexpectedly picked me up by the waist and spun in circles just like Alexei had two nights ago. The sky threatened us with thunder and lightning so we quickly got into the truck and started to make our way back to his house. I found my eye’s starting to shut so I turned up the music and guess what band just so happened to be singing? Thirty Seconds to Mars. I recognized the song immediately.

“Grab your gun, time to go to hell, I'm no hero guilty as charged, Search and destroy. Found my faith, living in sin, I'm no Jesus but neither are you my friend, I'm a whore above the broken dreams, this simple answer is never what it seems…”

Search and Destroy. I hummed along to it until Jaxon looked at me like I was crazy.

“Sing with me, Rowan.” He said looking back at the road.

“I will kill your ear drums.” I said to him looking out the window.

“Just fucking sing for me.” He said laughing.

I rolled my eyes and looked at him. This was my favorite line in the song so I sang this part constantly.

“Sold my soul, from heaven into hell sick as my secrets, but never gonna tell lock the blame, burden of my dreams. Cause of faith in a blessing I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, Oh, I believe (a million little pieces), I believe…” I sang embarrassed as he whistled at me like I was some hot girl he just saw. You know the whistle.

“Stop. Now it’s your turn.” I said with a smile.

He waited for the song to come back from the instrumental part of it and then begun singing and that’s when I realized if they ever sold any albums I would be the first person to buy it.

“Search and destroy (a million little pieces), A million little pieces, A million little pieces, A million little pieces (search and destroy), A million little pieces, A million little pieces, A million little pieces, Stolen from you…” He sang with such power and god I hate to say this but hot damn so much sexiness.

The song shortly ended and I felt tired again.

“Nope! We’re not done with our date yet. You can’t fall asleep.” Jaxon said to me swatting my arm with his hand.

“Ow! You’re pretty strong to you know.” I said rubbing the spot where he hit.

The next place Jaxon stopped at was at a waffle house. Hmm… weird.

“Why are we at a waffle house Jaxon?” I said as we pulled into the parking lot.

“To eat. Duh.” He said getting out of the truck.

I followed him and we walked in together.

“Hey Ricky!” Jaxon said to the older man at the entrance.

“Jaxon my boy! How are you today?” The older guy said with a very heavy Irish accent.

“Well I’m doing pretty good. Taking my friend here, to eat the best food in the world.” He responded back to the man.

The old man looked from me to Jaxon and then back to me and then back to Jaxon before laughing like Santa Clause.

“Are you sure she’s your friend, son? You two look great together.” He said out loud making me blush.

“As of right now just a friend sir.” Jaxon said with a smile.

“Okay well follow me.” Ricky said taking two menu’s from the holder where they sat.

He led us back to almost basically the back of the restaurant which I thought was funny because the place had plenty empty tables.

“Can I start you two off with a drink?” Ricky asked us.

“You know my usual Rick.” Jaxon said to the man.

Ricky wrote whatever Jaxon’s “usual” was and then looked at me with a smile.

“Do you have Pepsi?” I asked him hoping he would say they did.

“We have Coke?” He said and then laughed hysterically. “I’m just joking dear. I’ll be right back with the drinks.”

I smiled and then looked down at the menu.

“I’m sorry, he can be a lot to handle when you first meet him.” Jaxon said pulling my attention from the Biscuits and Gravy that looked really good.

“Oh it’s fine. He’s a really nice guy.” I said with a smile.

Three minutes later I knew that I was getting biscuits and gravy with bacon. I didn’t have to ask for the syrup because it was sitting right there on the table. Ricky walked up to us with my Pepsi and Jaxon’s… well, I don’t know what is was. It looked like a chocolate shake that had bacon, a waffle chunk, whipped cream, and a cheery on top of that.

“Ready to order Rowan?” Jaxon said taking a bite of the chocolate covered bacon.

“Um… yes. I’m going to have the biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon and that’s all I’m having.” I said handing the menu back to Ricky.

I looked at Jaxon as Ricky walked away.

“Aren’t you going to order?” I asked him as I saw him bite off the stem of the cherry.

“Nah. This fills me up every time.” He said with a smile.

I nodded slowly and then snuck a look at my phone. Alexei had sent me twenty one texts asking me where I was and if I was mad at him, and then I had a text from my mom telling me she was alright so that was good, and then I had a call from Roland that I would check tonight when I got home.

A couple minutes later, like not even five minutes passed before Ricky came out with my order. Damn this place is better than our McDonalds!

“Enjoy!” Ricky said setting the plate down in front of me.

“Thank you.” I said to him with a smile before I dug into the heavenly drenched biscuit.

I closed my eyes and just sunk into the chair.

“That good huh?” I heard Jaxon say to me so I shook my head and just kind of waited for the first bite to evaporate in my mouth (If that makes sense.)

By the time I was done eating Jaxon had finished the shake, thing, his “usual” which I still didn’t know all that it had in it. Before we left we talked to Ricky a bit more and then we were on our way again. So far today had been great. I don’t think I had ever had this much fun in such a short amount of time and it was so simple I mean Jaxon paid ten dollars for both of our meals and the boat ride and him talking to me about his band and actually hearing him sing was just amazing.

This time Jaxon did drive all the way back to his apartment but the night ended with a great ending because we just sat on the pull out couch bed eating pizza and watching movies until bam, I fell asleep on his shoulder.

The next morning when I woke up I had my head on his bare chest listening to his heartbeat. It gave me a chance to really soak in everything that happened to me the day before. I mean seriously, one of the best dates I’ve ever been on.

As I was looking at him I saw all of the tattoos on his chest and arms. They were all so well done and beautiful. My great morning was then ruined though when I just so happened to remember that school started in less than thirty minutes.

“Dammit!” I screamed in my head as I got out of the bed. I ran to the bathroom and brushed my hair with my bare hands and put it back up in the ponytail I had it in before. Then I ran out of the bathroom and tried to find a paper to write Jaxon a note so I didn’t have to wake him up.

I finally found a sticky note pad and wrote him a short note thanking him for letting me stay and to not think I left him and explained that I had school today. I stuck the paper on the tv and then ran to the door putting on my shoes and locking the door behind me before running down the stairs and almost killing myself in the process.

In the end I got to school ten minutes late but it wasn’t that bad because I had gym first and although I had just ran faster than an Olympian I ran down into the gym and got dressed just in time to run some more.

Great!
