*Spacial* The Date

Dipper's POV

Mabel and I made it to the park before Pacifica. I was completely nervous since this is my first date with any girl and I hadn't think of a strategy at all. I looked at Mabel and she can tell that I was nervous about it.

"Don't worry big bro, I'm way ahead of you." Mabel said as she dug into her bag. "I have a walkie-talkie headset that you can use".

I was extremely surprise about how Mabel thought this through and took the headset from her and put it on.

"Now you're all set. I'll be hiding behind that bush over there." Mabel said pointing at the bush next to the bench.

"Okay, thank you and see you later." I said. Mabel waved at me and walked away towards the bush.

When I was left alone, a few seconds later Pacifica and her security guard walked towards me. Pacifica was wearing the same outfit that she usually wear, but today she looked somewhat different.

"How long are you going to here." Pacifica said. At first, I thought she was talking to me until she turned her head to her security guard. "I'll be leaving then. Come to the car when you're done." the security guard said.

Pacifica gave a deep sigh and turned her head towards me, looking down. Anyone could tell that something was bothering her.

"What's the ma-." I stopped myself when I saw her move her head up. That's when I realize what was different about her today. She had mascara on along with glittery eye shadow and perfume that smelled like fresh lavender. What made it more cute was that her eyes are sparkling and it was on me. It almost seemed like I can see my reflection through her eyes.

"Big bro what are you doing, take her somewhere or at least walk around the park." Mabel said.

And she was right. It had almost been five minutes that we stand at the same spot ever since the security guard left. I have to think of a way to make this date a very good date.

"Um...you look great Pacifica...do you want to walk around the park or go and grab ice cream or maybe-"

"Walking around the park seems okay." Pacifica said immediately.

I started to blush thinking how embarrassing it is to see someone with no dating experiences talk on and on on which activity they should do.

We started walking and all was heard was the kids playing in the playground. This is literally boring and awkward. Though I guess it's my fault since I'm the man here and I should be the one making a move. Next thing I knew it, I saw Pacifica stick her hands out as if she wants someone to hold, but at the same time, want to hide it. I grabbed her hand and walked a bit ahead of her to not show her my face. In the end, we were both blushing.

"D-do you want to get some ice cream." I said. 'Shoot I didn't mean to stammer like that.'

"Sure." Pacifica said.

We walked to the ice cream stand and the ice cream man gave us one medium size bowl of ice cream. I didn't get mad at the man for giving us one ice cream and Pacifica didn't say anything. Based on what is happening, anyone can clearing see that Pacifica and I are having a date and people with keen eyes can tell that we aren't really having a fun time.

We walked to a bench that was on the opposite side of the other bench where Mabel was hiding in the bush. We sat down and start eating the ice cream.

"Okay, this is boring. Let me tell you what I want you to do to spice things up." Mabel said.

"Like what?" I said quietly so that Pacifica wouldn't hear me.

"I want you to--." Mabel told me what she want me to do, which made a me blush. But if it was a way to spice things up, I'd rather do this than to have this in one of my "worst summer memories".

Pacifica ate as much as she could before her mouth was too cold to take another spoon. She lied back on the bench and looked at the clouds. I noticed that on the side of her mouth, there were some remaining ice cream on her.

'This is my chance to do what Mabel wanted me to do.' I took a deep breath and was ready to take action.

"Pacifica, you have some ice cream on your face." I said as I whipped the ice cream off her face. Pacifica watched me as I licked the fingers that had ice cream on it and started to blush. 'Jackpot! I got myself a score!' I noticed that the ice cream was melting and ate the rest of it.

"T-there's a hot dog stand we can eat at a-and they have drinks." Pacifica stammered. 'So cute.' I thought.

We got up and walked to the hot dog stand. Once again, we had one medium-sized drink with two straws, but had our own hot dog. We sat down at a different bench where the bush, where Mabel is hiding at. Or is she? I looked at the bush carefully and didn't see Mabel at all.

"Get the pamphlet off the ground." Mabel said. I picked it up and saw a upcoming event happening today. There will be a firework show and the best place to see it was at the lake. I showed it Pacifica, but she didn't respond. Instead, she smiled, got up and walked away.

"I'll be back." Pacifica said.

'Crap, did I mess things up?' I thought.

"*deep clear throat*". I heard Mabel clear her throat and looked for her, just to find out she was behind me.

"Ah, you scared me." I said. "I don't care if I scared you or not big bro. How dare you let her walk away from you? You're making her feel all lonely." Mabel said. 'Jeez, and here I thought you would cheer me up not scold me.' I thought. "She said she'll be back. I'm sure she had something to do." I said. "I hope that you're right. I wish you the best of luck." Mabel said and ran to the restroom.

I hoped that I was right too. Pacifica had a troubled face expression when she told me that.

A few seconds later, Pacifica came back with a small present in her hand.

"I'll give it to you when we see the fireworks." Pacifica said looking away from me. I could tell she was embarrass about it, especially when she was trying to hide it with her hands.

"Are you okay? You looked a bit troubled when you left me." I said.

"Oh, um...that's because I had to tell my security guard that it will take a while and that he can find something to do for the time being." Pacifica said.

"Oh, okay. What do you want to do before the firework show starts?" I asked.

"Go to the gift shop." Pacifica said.

We walked to the gift shop and I got Pacifica a flower hair clip. She asked if I wanted something here that she should get and I declined. For the fact that she already got a present for me, if she buy me a gift here, I would feel as if I'm being spoiled.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was almost time for the firework show, so Pacifica and I walked to the lake and borrowed a canoe. We were all set and with the paddles I moved to the middle of the lake. Soon enough, the rest of the people that were in the park made their way to the lake too. When everyone came into the lake, all of them were silent as they waited to here the fireworks. A few seconds later, all of us heard the fireworks.
"I didn't know there'll be a holiday today." I said.
"No silly, today's the day when the park first opened." Pacifica laughed as she took out two firework sticks and the small present.
'Why does this kind of remind me of the movie "Tangled".' I thought. Pacifica handed me one of the stick, but there was one problem.
"Um, what are we going to use?" I asked. Pacifica smile turned into a frown. Instead of pouting about it, she looked at the fireworks that lit up the sky.
While Pacifica was distracted, I talked through the headset to talk to Mabel, but there were no reply. Next thing I knew it, I saw a figure in the water and out came Mabel in her swimsuit, disguised as a bush. She took one hand out and put a lighter in the canoe.
"Don't worry, I just found it on the ground. The choices are all yours." Mabel said before disappearing in the water.
"Oh, um Pacifica, I found a lighter in the canoe." I said. Pacifica looked at me and smiled. I lit up our stick and we both watched our stick before it all ran out of rooms for more sparks.
Pacifica gave me the small present. I opened it and it was a locket.
"Sorry, this was all I can think of." Pacifica said.
"No, I like it. It's nice." I said.
Pacifica smiled and blushed when one of the fireworks came out big to where we could see each other. I blushed too and leaned closer to her. Pacifica didn't flinch and I kissed her on the lips. She didn't hesitate and kisses back. We stayed like that until the last firework sparkled the night sky.
Just like that, our date ended.
