After MC's sudden death, he realized that he was a cannonfodder in a novel and ML, his arch rival was actually inlove with him this whole time. ML fell into demonic cultivation after his death and started searching for resurrection elixir all over the world for him. After rebirth, MC recognized ML's 'sharp tongue, soft heart' attitude and no longer quarreled with him.

The two of them entered the same Sect as the previous life except this time, MC chose to study medicine instead of sword cultivation. His Talent also improved, and he was regarded alongside ML as top disciples in their Sect. Anyways, after MC's Talent improved, he encountered some stuff he never learned about in his previous life, like Higher Realms for example. ML is actually from a Higher Realm but he decided to stay in the Lower Realm to be together with MC. He is also hiding his true cultivation level. #Spoiler MC is actually from the Higher Realm too but his parents sent him to the Lower Realm to hide him (MC didn't know). After MC encounters the scroll which caused his rebirth, MC learnt his true origins (From Medicine Valley). He also learned that they were in a loop, and the scroll kept resetting their lives in an attempt to avoid BE. In each life, ML is always beside MC. #spoiler Ending is everything going back to the beginning (pre-rebirth MC who often quarrels with ML) and ML slowly guiding MC's memories to come back.

Hmm... I really like the earlier chaps when they were still staying in the Lower Realm. They enter the Sect together and each make great achievements. MC is practically an idol in their Sect XD The adventure to a hidden realm is also awesome, there's treasures and dangers and alone time with ML. It really made me miss cultivation novels~

But when they got to the Higher Realm, how to say...it doesn't feel too...solid(?). Aside from ML's family and MC's dormant Medicine Valley, the only other forces mentioned are the Enemy Camp and the Monster Clan controlled by Enemy Camp. Considering that the situation was precarious, ML's family was basically their last bastion against evil spirits but no one else made a move when they were attacked by the enemy camp??? I also kept thinking how come nobody ever noticed / connected the dots before MC came to the Higher Realm. The Scroll plot twist was a bit confusing to me as well, and I'm not sure if it's solely because of MTL.

Overall, I really like the first part (Lower Realm), the settings, the adventures etc. but in the second half, I mostly stuck to it for the sake of MC & ML and just to get to the ending. I guess I prefer a more...detailed(?) worldview, but considering that MC & ML didn't climbed step by step, bur rather, just 'came back' to the Higher Realm, some things might've been skipped.
