Chapter Five - Dramatic Quest

"Alright, how do we keep this up?"

Gray and Erza were in Gray's apartment, planning their fake relationship for the sake of Juvia disliking Gray for the rest of his life. [[Though I'm not sure it might work. But, read on!]]

"I think we should go out on dates more," Gray insisted, "In fancy restaurants, I mean, because the Sorcerer's would catch it. Then, everyone would know that we really are dating."

"That's good, but..." Erza began to shake, a blush on her face.

"Erza, you alright?" he asked.

"D-Dates?"

Great. I guess, we'll have Lucy in this plan, Gray thought.

"Yeah, like eating, or hanging out together, the like," he answered.

"I-I'll do my best," Erza nodded, "But, I do believe it'd be better for us to go on quests together. That way, we can convince everyone at Fairy Tail that we really are dating."

"That's a good plan."

They spent the rest of the night talking about the upcoming seven months. The night ended with Erza falling asleep on Gray's shoulder as they watched Titanic for ideas.

---

"Clothing quest?" Gray asked.

Erza nodded, "It's not S-Class or anything, but Lucy says it's a good quest. The client, Sapphire, is a fashion designer. We're going to become models."

"Models? I strip a lot."

"Oh, Erza, Gray!" Mira got to them, "The quest you were talking about was taken by Lucy... Sorry."

"It's fine," Erza said, "We're going to look for other quests."

"Okay," And Mira went away.

"I want to defeat stuff and capture robbers," Gray said, "But, I don't know about you."

"Alright, then. We'll do a quest like this," Erza pulled a flyer off the board and showed it to Gray.

"A strange beast rampage," Gray said, "So, in this quest, there's a creature that goes on a rampage in several towns."

"Yeah. Isn't this the quest you want?"

"Okay, we're on it," Erza said.

That was quick. My last quest with only Erza was just capturing bandits, and it was really awkward. This time, I'll show her that I'm worthy enough of being her boyfriend, Gray thought.

"Let's go."

---

"We don't know why this beast goes on a rampage," Erza said as they took a train to the city of Lanree, "But, it's odd that the beast goes on a rampage in towns that are connected. For example, Lanree is the first city it went a rampage on. Then, it goes to Brago, and Lanree is a city that is connected with Brago. And, a city named Predisca is where the beast is, and this city is Lanree's former property."

"Possibly, these three cities tried destroying it," Gray replied, "Like, in the old times. So, today, this beast is trying to like, get revenge for itself."

"Don't go Iced Shell on me, alright?" Erza said, "I don't want to lose you."

"I know."

---

They got to Lanree and asked people about the beast.

"The beast is not so strong, but we aren't wizards."

"Guild mages like you can defeat this beast."

"Save us, please!"

"Got it," Erza nodded, "We're going to Predisca."

"The thing is... there's no train to Predisca," The mayor of Lanree said, "But, we do have a magic vehicle to get you to Predisca in an instant."

"Alright," Gray said.

---

Gray and Erza got to Predisca in an instant. Erza requipped into her Giant Armor and took her Lance (of Haja).

"I'll need you to strengthen the lance, Gray," Erza said, "That way, we could hit the beast's eye and kill it for good."

"Right!"

Gray put sharp (and dry) ice on the top of the lance and Erza threw the lance. It did hit the beast's eye, and they finished the quest.

"That was quick," Gray said.

"I know, but we still have to know why it went on a rampage in the first place," Erza went to a survivor.

"400 years ago, we tried killing the beast," the survivor said, "but it was stronger than us."

"Heh," Gray crossed his arms.

"Alright, we'll tell the people of Lanree through a lacrima."

---

After the quest, Erza and Gray went back to Magnolia through a train.

"So, what do we do now?" Gray asked.

"Go back home."

"No, about the seven-month thing."

"Nothing."

"Oh."

This is really, really awkward... should I just tell her that nothing's real?

"Erza, how about a short trip to the cake shop?"

"Cake?" her head immediately turned to him.

"I'll pay for it."

"Yes."

"Let's go, then!"

---

"This is heavenly," Erza said as she ate the cake Gray bought her.

"I prefer chocolate cake, though," Gray replied, "I think it's cool."

"This cake shop is really something," Erza smiled, "I'd have to say, you are a wise picker when it comes to stores."

"Thanks."

"Oh, I'm done... can you buy me another one?"

"Since you're my girlfriend, alright."

Erza smiled.

That's it, because I'm too lazy to write dramatic scenes.

Question: Which cover do you prefer? This one or the previous one? [[Hope you remember the previous one.]]
