Fern (Point of View):

I kept tossing and turning, the bed felt so uncomfortable, and the chilly air cut through, making it seem almost like it was snowing. (Why can't I find my blanket anywhere?)

Slowly, I opened my eyes, gazing at an unfamiliar place for about five seconds, trying to process what I was seeing. (Is this a dream?)

I rose from the ground, taking in my surroundings. It felt too vivid to be just a dream.

"What on earth is happening? Am I still asleep?" I muttered to myself, standing alone in the quiet street.

(Where on earth am I?)

In an attempt to make sense of my surroundings, I pinched my arm, wincing at the sharp pain, and surveyed the unfamiliar place.

"Oh no... did I die and get reborn?" I panicked, questioning the circumstances of my death.

(How did I even die?)

(I don't even know where this place is.)

(What am I going to do now?)

(I don't even have any survival skills.)

"I want to go home; I hope this is just a dream. I really wish," I muttered, closing my eyes and crossing my fingers, desperately hoping to wake up back in my room. However, as I opened my eyes, I found myself still in this mysterious place.

"Oh no... why haven't I returned? Is this a reincarnation? What exactly happened? This is unbelievable," I pondered, halting in my tracks when my reflection caught my eye in a nearby glass.

(What in the world!?)

"Oh my goodness, my hair is black, and my eyes are purple!? What's going on with my eyes? They were supposed to be light brown, like my original hair!" I exclaimed while staring at my reflection. Suddenly, I noticed a stunning woman with silver hair and purple eyes.

She was captivating, her snow-white hair was incredibly beautiful, especially as she shimmered under the moonlight. Her beauty surpassed any celebrities I'd seen in my world; it was truly out of this world.

"Wow," I uttered, mesmerized by the woman in a gorgeous purple dress. She was undeniably the loveliest creature I had ever seen!

(Oh no. She's looking at me!)

"Excuse me, dear child, have you seen a star in the sky? I believe it landed in this area," she asked, her beautiful face still capturing my attention.

(Her waist is incredibly small, like a Barbie doll.)

(She's so beautiful.)

(If I were a tall man with a good reputation, I'd marry this wonderful woman in front of me.)

"Dear?" the woman with silver hair said, and I couldn't help but be captivated by her beauty; I couldn't stop gazing at her face.

"Yes, miss pretty lady?" I replied with a smile, feeling even more blessed when she smiled back so charmingly at me.

(Oh my goodness!)

(Her smile is even more beautiful!)

(Marry me! Or let me be your little maid, miss!)

(I'll worry about my situation later...)

"Have you seen the shining light that landed here? If you don't mind telling me," she asked, and I shook my head indicating that I hadn't.

"I-I apologize, I didn't witness any light landing here. I just woke up in this spot after sleeping," I explained with an awkward smile.

(Yeah, and I'm not lying about that.)

"You were sleeping outside? It's cold; you could catch a cold," she expressed concern, to which I simply smiled.

"Y-Yeah, but I have nowhere else to go; that's why I'm here," I explained, glancing at my reflection.

(Why do I look like a five-year-old in my reflection? I'm supposed to be a tall person!)

"Poor child, tell me your name," she requested, and I looked at her.

(She's asking for my name... but.)

(I don't even know where I am right now and what exactly just happened to me.)

(Did I die and get reincarnated, or maybe it's something else?)

"I don't have a name, pretty miss; I grew up without one," I lied, and she believed it.

"My dear goodness, which parents would do such a thing to a young soul like you?" she exclaimed, and I hid my awkwardness.

The lady in front of me smiled and delicately touched my hair with her pretty fingers. "You have very beautiful hair, and your eyes are just like my mother's," she remarked.

"Oh, she must be pretty like you then," I replied with a smile, and she mirrored the gesture.

"Yes, she's indeed a beautiful woman too," she confirmed with a smile.

"May I know your name, pretty miss?" I inquired as she continued to gaze at me.

"My name? Haven't you figured out who I am?" she asked, and I shook my head.

"Well, that's good. People have given me many titles, and all of them are quite..." She trailed off, looking upset and hurt.

"You're pretty. May I know your name, pretty lady?" I asked with a smile.

*chuckles* "Why, of course. For someone as nice as you, I'll tell you my name," she said.

"My name is Cynthia Van De Roos, daughter of Grand Duke Luk Van De Roos. I'm the lady of the De Roos Duchy," she announced, leaving me speechless.

...

(Cynthia? Cynthia Van De Roos from the Promised Under The Moon?! My older sister's first novel that I ever read?!)

(Cynthia, the infamous villainess from the novel?!)

(She's 'the' Cynthia, known by other readers as the greatest, most venomous, and evilest villain destined to meet her end at the hands of the foolish prince of the Lazourel Empire?!)

(She's the Cynthia I shed tears over?!)

(Oh my goodness! She's even more beautiful than the book described!)

(And she doesn't have any cunning personality at all! What on earth is this?!)

"Are you alright, dear?" she asked, noticing my shock.

(My sister's story portrayed her as cunning and with a mean personality.)

(That's why Cynthia in my older sister's tale was framed for horrible crimes she didn't commit in the story.)

(And... I find myself facing the villainess, who doesn't match the description from the story.)

(She appears more innocent than the cunning woman depicted in the tale!)

(What in the world!)

"Pretty lady, please let me be your adopted daughter," I blurted out, immediately covering my mouth.

The words slipped out unintentionally; they were supposed to stay in my thoughts.

(Oh my goodness, no, why did I say that? She'll probably say no.)

"You... want to become my daughter?" she asked, looking surprised.

(This might be a chance to reshape her destiny!)

(This must be why I'm here! Did God hear my prayers before I went to sleep?!)

(I sound crazy, but this situation is even crazier right now.)

"Y-Yes, I'll do anything you say or want. Please let me become your adopted daughter, even if it's just for a year," I pleaded in front of her.

(I'm stuck in the body of a small child; only luck can save me in this situation!)

"And what do I get if I make you my daughter?" she asked, suddenly looking intimidating. The look that the story of my older sister described had finally manifested in front of me.

(Wow, she looks terrifyingly beautiful with that intimidating expression.)

"Name your price, pretty miss. I can even give you my life if you want," I offered, which made her smile.

"Oh, you don't have to go that far. Get up and come with me first," she said, and I got up from kneeling in front of her.

"I'll think about this later. I'll tell you about my decision tomorrow," she said with a smile.

Yes! All that's left here is luck and my actions.

Don't worry, Miss Cynthia. I'll do everything to prevent the fate you're heading toward.

I'll keep you from falling for the prince of this empire! You don't deserve someone like him.

I'll make sure I become your daughter and change your destiny. I'll make sure of that.
