Chapter 3

   Grace's POV

My mommy has been very sad lately. She went on vacation with daddy and she came back. She called me a lot and she sounded happy. She was happy when she got home. She began calling daddy and she sounded vary sad. Daddy wasn't answering. Every time mommy called daddy she sounded like she was used to him not answering.

I walked into mommy's room one night. I saw her sitting on the floor leaning against the door. Her head was in her hands. She looked at me. I smiled at her. Her face was red and wet. She was crying. She opened her arms like she wanted a hug. I walked over to her. She pulled me close to her.

"Mommy it will be okay." I said.

"I know baby." She kissed my head.

   "Are you okay?" I asked.

   "It's just daddy." She answered.

   "Man troubles?" I asked.

   "I guess." She laughed.

She hugged me tight and laughed. What did I do wrong?

Over the next few weeks and months she was very sad. She was never happy like she was when daddy was around. She tried to hide her emotions. She called and called daddy, but he never answered. She eventually just gave up on calling him. Mommy is not a quitter. She felt like daddy didn't like her anymore. Daddy used to be her screen saver, now it is Aussie and I. Daddy has really changed mommy.

One day I got home from school. Daddy's car was in the driveway. I ran into the kitchen to greet mommy. I didn't hug daddy. I think I made him sad and mad because I didn't hug him. I called him later that night and talked to him. He made me smile. He told me that he was going to see me soon. I was very happy that I was going to see him soon. I really missed daddy. I have Magcon school things that remind me of my daddy all of the time.

When I was talking on the phone to daddy it sounded like there was another girl with him. She was winy and was calling his name. He just ignored her. He was talking to a girl that he actually loves, me. I love my daddy and really miss him.
