The car in front of me stops suddenly, forcing me to break painfully. My heart stops in my chest before I lean back in my seat, trying to recover from being shoved forward.

Way to go, buddy.

I glare at the car in front of me.

What is he even doing?

The man in front of me starts to turn the corner of the crosswalk we're at.

He stopped because he was afraid of missing his turn? He could've just passed it and worked his way back. Did he not think about the people behind him? Asshole.

I huff and continue driving, trying to let the disturbance roll off my mind.

I just don't understand people like that, they shouldn't be on the road if they are going to act this reckless.

I'm on the way to Taehyung's trial, hopefully, the last one. I didn't think I'd run into halfwits like that fellow who had the nerve to stop that hard. I continue to drive down this surprisingly quiet backstreet. As I'm driving a gigantic splurge of white covers the midsection of my front window.

I can't see a thing.

I try to use the windshield wipers but to no avail, it only makes the mess worse.

Shit.

I steer to the right in an attempt to pull over. My foot is lighter on the gas to make sure I don't crash. My car comes to an abrupt stop when I feel it collide with something in front of it. My body jerks forwards due to the impact and I immediately take my foot off the gas.

So much for not crashing into anything.

I unbuckle my seatbelt and get out of the car. Close the door and take in the scene in front of me. I look to the left and see a young tree that is slightly tilted now.

So that's what I hit. Well, more so tapped.

I look back at my car and examine the damage.

It's a small dent. The car hit the tree close to the corner but it didn't touch my lights, that's a good thing.

I then look at the window of my car. The white smeared mess had bits of brown and if I sniffed hard enough, it stunk.

Bird poop, I should've known.

I rub my forehead and sigh.

Guess I have to clean this up now.

I look around and see a small store a couple of meters away. I lock my car with my keys and walk towards the store. Once I enter, I grab some Windex and a jug of water.

Should I get paper towels? Nah I'm not wiping it.

I pay and exit the store. When I reach my car I spray the window with the Windex and pour the water on it. It manages to come off without even scrubbing.

Thank god.

I put the materials in my trunk and shut it. I head on back to the driver's seat and shut the door. I put the key in the ignition, and try to start the car. The car lets out a grunt and powers back off.

Oh no. Please, not today.

I hit my head on the steering wheel lightly.

Can we have something go right today??

I look at the time on my phone. I gasp.

I should be in the courtroom by now!

I rapidly get out of the car and shut the door.

What now?"

I turn to the road and start waving my hands around to signal for help. A white pick up truck filled with a group of women.

"Hello, sweetheart." A woman says. She has red hair and catlike eyes. She wore a white scarf and a white puffy coat.

"Hi, would you happen to have a cable?" I ask politely.

"I believe so." A brunet next to the redhead responds. She has on a denim jacket and her hair is in a low bun.

"May I use it?" I request.

"And what would a fine lady like yourself do for it? With a body like that, I think we can come up with something." Another woman with jet black hair and thick make-up says. She wore a red leather jacket with a black hoodie underneath. She smirks at me while licking her lips.

I feel very uncomfortable right now.

"I don't think I can provide what you're looking for," I say.

"You're on your own then sweet cheeks." The woman driving says and they speed off.

Oh wow, they were something else. Rude much?

I wave for a little longer and finally see a cop car stopping by my car.

"Hello, ma'am, are you having trouble?" A man in uniform questions, stepping out of the driver's seat and shutting the door. His partner steps out of the passenger and she walks to his side.

"Yes, my car ran out of battery. Could you help me bring it back to life?"

"Wait, did you run into that tree right there." The policeman asks, raising a brow at my car.

"Yes, but-"

"Miss, I'm going to have to ticket you."

"You didn't even let me explain."

"It doesn't matter. Long story short, you still ran into a tree." He pulls out a yellow pad and pen. He starts scribbling things on it.

"Sir, I don't think that is necessary."

"I didn't ask you what you thought."

My day just got a whole lot shittier.

Already thirty minutes late, I barged into the room out of breath and with my bag in my hand. My breath was heavy and I could feel beads of sweat on my forehead. It feels as though I have run a marathon, that's how out of shape I am at the moment. I look up at the judge who seems to be listening to Taehyung defending himself. She looks unamused with her elbow on a surface propping up a chin. She raises a skeptical eyebrow mid-sentence of Taehyung's explanation, now frowning. Taehyung is dressed nicely, a thing I'm used to by this point. His face held a polite smile while speaking and his hands were making several gestures to explain his idea.

"Yes, that is how it happened. " Taehyung finished.

"And how do you know this, Mr.Kim ?" The judge inquired.

"The question is, how do you know this, your honor?"

What the fuck is doing? He's so shameless, with a straight face! If only I got here sooner. I have to fix this.

I walk to my side of the courtroom and greet the judge.

"My apologies, your honor, there was an unexpected issue that came up," I said.

" Not very professional of you Ms.Y/L/N. Since I am in a good mood, I will refrain from kicking you out." She responds

" Thank you, your honor." I turn my attention to Taehyung. "Sit down, I've got this." To this, he sighs in relief and a seat. I place my bag beside my side's table and walk to the center of the room where attorney Yoon already is.

"You see you honor, that is the exact response that I'd expect from a boy and his lawyer." Mr.Yoon sneers.

I know he did not just....

"What are you trying to insinuate?" I grit through my teeth.

"How old are you Mr.Kim?" He turns to Taehyung, completely ignoring my question.

This man....

"Twenty-five" Taehyung answers, looking as floored as I feel at the moment. Mr.Yoon turns back to the judge.

"You see your honor, Mr.Kim is a child. Most likely, he signed the contract not knowing what it entailed or filled with impulsive emotion. He signed it before thinking of the consequences. However, a contract is a contract, which was signed. Right now he is trying to take back something irreversible just like the kid he is."

What an excuse! So now the courtroom is just filled with a plot of assumptions?

I turn to the judge.

"Mr.Kim is an adult, not a child. He is well over the age of eighteen, and so am I. He pays taxes, owns a business, and gives back to his community through donations when he can. Just because he is younger than most people who sign these kinds of contracts does not mean we should look down on him for being in his youth. I am also an accomplished adult who is trying to defend my client." I voice.

Take that.

"I have heard enough." The judge states.

Oh no.

"Since both sides have been presented and Mr.Kim's side seems less liable, I have come to a decision."

No.

"I proclaim this case-"

"Excuse me, you honor." I start.

"What is it now? The case is over, young lady."

"I have one more piece of evidence."

"Oh?" I walk over to my bag and pull out my laptop. I connect it to the courtroom's projector. I click play and the video is a quick time-lapse of the entrance of Ryu inc. from ten am to twelve pm on the day of the appointment. I stop the video.

"This is a video of the entrance of Ryu inc. the day of the 'contract signing' during the time Taehyung was said to arrive. As you can see, he never set foot in the building on that day." I say.

I look over at Mr.Yoon and his mouth is agape. Mr.Bong and Taehyung's uncle's faces are hard.

You thought I'd let you win another time.

"Where did you get this video? I thought that the cameras from Ryu inc. were down?" The judge asks. I turn my attention to her.

"They were down however, there is a delivery truck that came to Ryu inc. in the morning. I kindly asked for the film of the dashcam of the driver. The video has a clear shot of the front entrance, the only entrance, of the building." I answer.

"This could be fabricated!" Mr.Yoon exclaims.

"In the bottom right corner of the video, you can see the logo of the company that delivers to Ryu inc. That company doesn't fabricate their videos because this is how they track the hours their employees are working. Also, this chip with the film that is playing from my computer is the original." The judge nods.

"But your honor-" Mr.Yoon starts.

"It seems I have underestimated you Ms.Y/N." She turns to the rest of the room and holds up her gavel. "With that said, I declare this litigation approved." I smile in bliss and look over at our opponent's side.

Take that fuckers.

I walk back to my side and Taehyung runs up to me and lifts me in the air.

"We did it Y/N!" Taehyung cries with joy while spinning me around.

No, I can't do this here, he's too happy right now.

"Taehyung put me down," I say with a shaky voice. He looks at me with wide eyes and immediately gives into my request.

"Sorry I forgot, I was just so excited!" He says with a smile.

"It's fine."

He let go just in time.

"Thank you so much Y/N. I get to keep my laundromat!" He grabs my hands in excitement.

He is just like a child.

"Oh please, it was nothing. I was just doing my job." I reply.

"You were so cool just now." He compliments.

"Thanks,"

"To celebrate, I'll treat you to that bubble tea shop!" I laugh at his enthusiasm.

"Sure, let's do it." I look at our opponents and smile victoriously. Taehyung's uncle's face is scrunched up in defeat while Mr.Bong's wears a frown with furrowed brows. Mr.Yoon is beyond livid, his face is as hard as a rock.

Ha! That's what you get! Maybe if you did your JOB instead of flirting with the judge, you could've had me. But then again, I wouldn't have let that happen. Sucks to be you, sleazebag.

We walk out, Taehyung sticking his tongue out at our victims along the way. I chuckle at his immature reaction. When we get into the hallway Taehyung rambles on about many things in his cloud nine states.

I did it, I won. It was impossible, but I did it.

I smile wider, still walking in the courthouse hallway. I continue to walk but I stumble backward when a shoulder collides with mine. The person stops and looks up at me.

"I am sorry, I didn't see you there." The man says. I look up and peer at his face.

It can't be, not him.
