The Coffee Incident

Clint's POV
I watched Spider-Man swing off. Then looked at the man covered in webs below me. What the heck just happened. Spider-Man... saved me? Me?! An avenger?! What the heck, what the heck, what the heck. I ran my hand through my hair. I was not going to hear the end of this.

(Time Skip!)

"So at first I thought, what the heck this guy is attacking me for no reason, but then a gun shoots and I was like 'how the heck did he see that coming' and I saw him shooting webs towards the ground and then a grab an arrow and shoot at the gun right? Then I was gonna shoot the guy again and he yelled 'stop!' And I was like 'huh?' And then he shoots the man and absolutely covers him in webs and I accidentally let the arrow go and it just got stuck in the webs so yeah. Then he just swung off saying he had somewhere to be." I said pacing back and forth in front of the expensive over sized TV. "Thing is, if he didn't tackle me I would have gotten shot."

Everyone was staring at me. We had told the others about what Fury wanted, but I wasn't sure if I wanted that anymore. I had left out the fact that he seemed younger then we thought when I was right there next to him. I wondered if it was possible.

Was Spider-Man just a kid?

"Could have been a staged save though." Cap said standing up right. He had been leaning against the wall.

"You mean you think Spider-Man is working with Hydra? And that he staged that to gain our trust?" Bruce asked. It had been hard to pull him and Tony out of their work but now they were fully invested in what had happened.

"It's possible." Steve said. I shook my head.

"Couldn't have been." I told them simply.

"How do you know?"

How did I know? It was just a feeling. The way he was surprised. The way he made sure there was space between us. The way he didn't quite seem trust me. Maybe it was the way his voice seemed younger.

"I don't know." I whispered.

Everyone was quite.

"Well next time we'll all go in. I almost got his pattern down." Tony said. Everyone nodded. Including me.

Peter's POV
After get a little ways away I pulled out my phone. I was surprised to see a text pop up.

Merida
Hey kid.

Peter
Hey! Glad you texted! It distracts me!

Merida
No! Do your homework!

Peter
I'm walking home from a friend's house! It got dark quicker then I thought and my aunt is at work. Also I heard gun shots not that long ago.

Merida
You shouldn't walk home in the dark alone!

Peter
Too late!!

Merida
Okay well I'm a bit shaken up too right now. We can be each other's distractions.

Peter
Okay!

Merida
...

So how's the internship?

Peter
Pretty cool! Unlike my boss' temper.

Don't tell anyone I said that!

I don't want to complain.

Merida
If your boss' is giving you problems for no reason you should tell someone!!

Peter
Who am I gonna tell?

My boss?

I don't want to get fired. So I just suck it up.

Merida
Okay good point on the 'who should I tell' thing.

Do you at least get to build things?

Peter
Yeah. I miss lunch tho.

Merida
Why??

Peter
The nice lady in my department has lunch before hand so she works at lunch and she lets me help her.

But I miss lunch then.

Well. I only eat lunch from the cafe on Saturdays. Because it's free then.

I gtg. I just got home.

Merida
Okay bye kid.

(Time Skip! It was previously Friday when they were texting. Now it's Saturday.)

I rushed over to the tower. If I got there early then maybe I could work on my web shooters or one of my other projects.

I ran pass a black car just starting up. I did catch a glimpse of a shocked Happy in the driver seat. I had been trying to convince him that I could walk but when that didn't work and he said people wanted donuts anyway so I had started walking there early as well. Or just not meeting him.

I rushed pass Ms. Emily—the lady who had checked me in the first day—and she laughed.

"Hurry Peter!" She joked, still laughing. I smiled. The elevator took me up to my floor. I rushed to the lab.

"Parker! Glad you're early! Go get me coffee! Make it snappy too." My boss commanded. Of course he was early also.

"Yes sir." I mutter walking back out into the hall. I sighed. I got in the elevator and pushed a button for the cafe. Everyone had access to the cafe so I didn't have to swipe my card.

After getting coffee I started back to the elevator. The elevator opened well I was still walking down the hall and a golden retriever came bouncing out.

"Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah!" I shouted as the dog ran in between my legs and I slipped. I fell backwards and hit my head. Then I heard the elevator ding again.

"Uggggggggh." I groaned. My head pounding I just laid there in a puddle of coffee. Thank goodness it was iced. The dog came up to me and licked my face. I chuckled a bit.

"Lucky! No! Bad dog!" Someone shouted. I recognized that voice. I lifted my head slightly to see Hawkeye offering his hand. I took it.

"Sorry. He got away from me." He said helping me up. "Are you okay?"

"Hmmp." I hummed still trying to get my pounding head to function correctly.

"Clint! Get back here! You cannot prank me and get away with it!" A woman yelled. His eyes went wide.

"Let's find a janitor and then I'll help you explain to your boss what happened!" He said quickly he clutched my arm and pulled me along. Clearly wanting a shield of some sort.

We found a janitor and then I got another cup of coffee. On our way back to the elevator a very mad Black Widow dropped from a vent.

"Clint I swear I if you think this is funny." She had jumped in between me and Hawkeye so I just walked over to the elevator and gave a nervous wave as the doors closed. He gave me a look that said trader. I laughed. But that was short lived because I remembered my boss's temper. He probably wouldn't believe my incident earthier.
