Chapter 27

Your eyes peeled open as you stretched with a rather loud yawn. You fisted your eyes with a tired grump before picking up Scrouchy.

"Morning Buddy..."

"...."

You smiled slightly and stepped out of bed.

Ah, your blinds were closed ysaturday.

It would seem things were getting slightly back to normal.

A knock was at your door as you went to fo answer. Your smile got a bit bigger when you saw Aaron.

You grabbed onto his pajama pants and looked up at him.

"Yeah?" "That's...Not how you greet someone in the morning." "Morning Aaron." "Good Morning hon'."

You and Aaron aren't on Daughter-Father basis just yet.

Sure, you consider him to be your Dad but you can't call him that as loosly as you call Aphmau Monm.

It will take some time to get used to. Aaron understood that.

You triple-checked him and everything. Snapping your thoughts for a moment you peered behind the man.

"Where's Mom?" "Huh? You...Haven't seen what's outside?" You raised a brow and went to open your blinds.

The sight made your eyes sparkle with joy.

"SNOW! SNOW! AARON, THERE'S SNOW! I HAVEN'T SEEN SNOW SINCE I FIRST MET APHMAU!"

Aaron laughed and nodded, "I Know. Your Moms out there right now." "Can I go play!?" "Sure. But get a sweater..." You grinned and nodded.

Now fully dressed in warm clothes you went to go outside.

You wore a F/c sweater with some regular bants and black boots. The bold words on the front read, 'Big Bad Wolf' which made you laugh a little.

You held Scrouchy close while stepping outside. They had a sweater as well! Can't have them getting cold, can we?

Aphmau, Garroth, and Kawaii~Chan were rolling around into the snow making you laugh and jump into it.

You laughed when realizing it was up to your knees before looking at Scrouchy.

"See? It's snow! Don't worry. It can't hurt you or anything like that. I thought the same thing when I first saw it." You smiled fondlyat the memory.

You couldn't help but feel just a little nostalgic even if that time wasn't too long ago.

You were learning everything about the world and didn't know what anything had been at all.

Now, you know a little more.

Not everything but...your not as cluelss as you were before.

That's what you wanted anyway! To know more. Now you do!

You then looked up and cocked your head to the side in confusion.

It's freezing cold out here.

But the three adults playing in the snow didn't seem fazed at all. Aaron noticed your confusion and laughed.

"Just wait for it..." "Wait a minute..." Aphmau started. It wasn't too long until the cold air sunk in and the three began to shiver.

You laughed as Katelyn sighed, "Awh, c'mon you guys. You just need to get your winter gear on."

"Neverrrrr!" Garroth protested.

"But then you guys'll get sick..." You frowned.

Aaron playfully rolled his eyes, "They come with Holiday cookies~"

"Cookies!?" Aphmau gasped.

"Wait, do they really?" You muttered.

Aaron nodded causing you to grin.

Kawaii~Chan and Garroth also lit up at the mention of cookies and quickly went to go get changed. You laughed at their childish behavior.

"They're like kids in a candy store when it comes to the holiday season..." Zane sighed.

You huffed at him and turned away making him sigh.

"Come on Y/n, what will it take for you to forgive me...Aphmau did!" You pouted.

Before you had woken up and seen Aaron, there had been a small mini party going on downstairs.

Durning that time Aphmau forgave Zane but you've still been sitting on the fence.

Especially since you haven't had a proper conversation since he left.

"I still need time." You muttered.

Zane sighed but nodded respectfully, "I understand. Take all the time you need."

You looked at Zane a bit shocked but nodded. Truth be told, you weren't really mad anymore.

But you also wanted to make Zane feel just a bit more guilty for the hurtful things he said.

"Thanks...A-And you were right. They were acting totally childish." "Tell me about it..." Katelyn scoffed. "Pfft...Yeah. Who would act like that?"

...

You sighed. "Go nuts."

"ooOOH! I LOVE THE SNOW!" Katelyn grinned.

"It's the best!" Aaron nodded.

"WEEEE!" Zane fangirled.

You sighed and shook your head in dismay before falling back into the snow and rolling around with cute little giggles.

"I really like the snow! And I know you will too Scrouchy! Aha!" "...."

Now back in the warmth of the house, you began to put decorations up like Aphmau said.

She told you the place had to be perfect for when they get here.

You weren't sure who they were but you didn't bother questioning it.

"Mm' done over here Mom!" You smiled. Aphmau smiled down at you and rubbed your head,

"Nice job Y/n." Celestia barked up at the two of you as you leaned down to give her a rub down.

"I know girl! I'm excited too! But we have to get this place decorated first before they get here!" Aphmau giggled.

You tilted your head.

It all seem to peek Aarons intrest as well.

"Before who gets here?" "Uh--My Mom! Duh!" You frowned.

That was very obviously a lie.

"Uh-Huh..." "Right..." You and Aaron muttered skeptically.

"Are you excited!?" "I'm excited alright. But I have to admit, I'm still a little nervous about her coming over..."

"Why?" You laughed.

"Well, it's kinda hard to say this but...I'm not exactly used to her being so nice to me."

"Ahahaha!...You know what? Your right. That's going to be really weird." "What should we do?" You questioned.

"Uh...You just act normal. Besides, I have a really big surprise planned for you~"

"Me?" "Mmhm!"

"What about me?" "I'm getting presents for you so you don't need a surprise."

"Well, I'd still like one." You spoke with a small purse of your lips. Aphmau laughed and gave you side hug.

"Come on. We have to decorate the house!" "Right, Right. Where should we start?"

"Well, I was thinking we start with the mantle. It's like the focus of the room, and it'll really make the room pop!"

You grew bored of the conversation and were about to go elsewhere until there was a knock at the door.

"Abuela?" You smiled.

"Uhm...I'm not sure. We haven't even finished decorating yet!" "Yeah. She's way too early." "Abuela!" You grinned, running over to the door.

"Y/n, Hold on--" Aphmaus words fell on furry deaf ears as you had already swung the door open.

You flinched at the very unfimilar face of a man who smelt of chicken.

"You...are not my Abuela..." "Hello little girl! Would you like to buy a catch tree?" "Uhhh..." "Y/n! We don't talk to strangers!"

"Sorry Mom..."

"Here...Take this wrapping paper and go wrap your friends gifts upstairs. Me and Aaron will decorate."

"Oh yeah! Okay!" You ran upstairs and straight to your room before swinging open your closet.

There were tons of gifts to wrap!

You wanted to get your friends something the same way you got Aphmau and the girls something last year.

Asher said he'd get you something too but you wouldn't be able to get it until after winer break.

He did say you'd like it a lot though.

You pulled out Rockys gift first and smiled.

She's going to love it!

The wrapping you did was a bit messy and it almost seemed like it was covered head to toe in tape alone.

"Shoot, Danget...It looks bad."

"...."

"Huh? Shoot Danget isn't a bad word!"

"...."

"You don't know nothin'..."

"Y/n! A letter from Teony just came! Come down and read it with me!" "Teony!? I-I'm coming!"

---

You smiled pridfully at the house that was now covered in decor.

It looked really nice!

"Whew! There we go!" "The house looks super cool you guys!" "Thanks hon'..." "Oo! Are these presents for me?"

Aphmau smiled down at the curious grin on your face.

You seemed to be happier now that Aaron came back.

"Some of them. But you can't open them until Christmas." You huffed and looked down at the neatly wrapped gifts,

"Right...Christmas rules...Wish I could wrap like that." Aaron laughed at your random finishing thought before the doorbell rang.

Aphmau instantly turned to you with a warning glare making you stiffen up.

"I won't move!...Swear." She nodded and went to answer the door.

Your tail wagged when you caught the fimilar scent of your grandmother wash through the room.

"Mija!" "Mommy!" The two shared a hug as you ran to the door with a smile.

"Abuela!" "Neita!" Sylvana lifted you into a hug and kissed all over your face causing you to giggle slightly.

She then peered over your shoulder and cringed.

"And there's my...Erm...Handsome Aaron!" "And there's my...Girlfriends Mom!"

Woof.

That was hard to watch.

"Aww~! Look at you two being so nice to eachother!"

"I thought it was pretty awkward..." "Hush Y/n, don't ruin the moment..."

You rolled your eyes and were sat back down on the ground.

"Of course! I just...Like Aaron so much!" "Why don't you give him a hug!" "Alright, now that's pushing it..." You laughed at Sylvanas words with her slowly joining you and placing a hand on your head.

"I think we've made enough progress for one winter day. Plus, we have a whole week of hanging out with eachother, right?"

"Exactly!" "I guess you're right. There's no need to rush anything. Plus, Mom you just making an effort and everything you did for us...It means a lot."

"Thank you Abuela." "Your welcome Mija, Neita."

"And soon, in time, you'll learn not to be as awkward around him!" "So now it's awkward?" You scoffed.

"Right!...That's important in case I ever have to ask Aph to--"

"Exscuse me?" "What are you muttering about?" "Ahahah! Nothing..." Aaron laughed nervously. You glared at him slightly out of suspicion.

He seemed really nervous just then.

Whatever he muttered clearly wasn't nothing.

"C'mon! Let's go get settled in!" "Me and Mom have a lot of stuff planned for this week! It's gonna be great! We'll make cookies,"

"Pick out a tree,"

"n' decorate outside too,"

"We can't forget get that!" You and Aphmau spoke before going to set up a few things.

Aaron chuckled, "Their so in tune with eachother it gets a little scary."

"Well, it looks like it's going to be a crazy week." Sylvana smiled, stepping in and closing the door.

You paused.

Your nose went up into the air along with your ears.

That's a new smell.

A...Fimilar smell.

A lot of Aaron.

Some nice perfume.

And...!

You turned to the door right as the doorbell rang.

"Ah! That must be my second surprise!" "Huh?" Sylvana and Aaron questioned.
A large grin settled on your face as your tail beat against the wall.

It couldn't possibly be...

Aaron went toward Aphmau as you stay frozen in your spot. You wouldn't like to get yelled at again for answering the door.

"Ah, Aaron...I hope you don't mind but I invited a few special people over to join us!"

"Did you..."

"Uh-Huh! Tada!"

"What the!?"

You squealed as Melissa and an older woman stood at the door.

She's the one who had Aarons scent along with the sweet perfume.

"Surprise Aaron!" Melissa smiled. "Melissa!? Mom!?" "Aaron..." "AUNTIE MEL~MEL!" You called.

You ran over to the door but tripped and faceplanted in the hardwood floor.

"Oh my..." Aarons mother gasped as Melissa, Aaron, and Aphmau jumped.

"Y/n!" "Neita!" They paused in worry but sighed when your tail began to beat against the ground.

You recovered rather quickly and leapt toward your Aunt, nuzzling into her stomach.

"I missed you! Lots and Lots! Oh! Welcome to our house again!"

"I...I missed you too. But are you alright? You've got a bruise..." "Don't even feel it!" You laughed.

(All while blinking away the tears of pain....)

Melissa laughed and held you a bit closer as Aphmau turned to Aaron.

"I hope you don't mind, but I invited your family over!" "I-I-I...Aph, can I talk to you in private?" Aaron grumbled, not waiting for answer.

They walked to the other side of the living room as you looked up at the older woman.

She wore the same coat as Melissa and looked almost exactly like her.

Although, her hair was a tad darker and she had a completely different scent.

You then remembered Aaron calling her, 'Mom' and jumped.

"Grandma..." You whispeared causing her to stare down at you in slight confusion. "I beg your pardon?"

"O-Oh! Sorry! My name is Y/n! It's nice to meet you Miss..." "Rachel."

"Rach-al! Ah! Your the lady that blocked me, right? It's okay, I'm not mad anynore..."

The older woman winced as Melissa laughed nervously.

"It's pronounced, Ray-Chill, Y/n..."

"O-Oh! I'm sorry..."

Rachel didn't bother to ackknowledge your apology and stared at your head.

"You're...A werewolf?"

"Hm? Oh! Yeah! Are you scwred of them? Cause I'm the nicer one!" "Not at all, actually..." "Oh..."

An awkward silence...

"Alright! Who's ready to make," Sylvana paused and began to glare daggers at the woman infront of her, "You!"

"Mm...Charmed."

Melissa let go of you for a moment to shut the door as you looked at the ladies in slight bewilderment.

Did something happen?

"Oh, good! I didn't wear my good earrings today! Just the ones I got at the 99 cent store!" "Are you sure you didn't get your hairstyle from there too?"

Your ears fell.

"H-Hold on--" You meekly called.

"OH! IT'S ON NOW!"

"No. No Mom fight. Look, let me clear up a few things. Aaron, Mom, Y/n...I wanted to invite Aaron's family over for the holdidays. Even if it's just for one day or a few."

"But Aph, I told you what--"

It then clicked.

That's right.

Aaron had told you both everything before hand.

The ignoring, the plan, the lying.

Everything done by Aarons mother.

It would make sense that Sylvana is so upset.

And even so, you weren't ready to shut her out.

Not just yet.

"We know what happened. But Aaron, it's the holidays. I want to forgive and forget and maybe try to start over."

"Aphmau called us and asked us to come!...Ahem...Mom?"

"Right, Right...After everything that happened, well...I started to feel...Bad...about what I did. I'm sorry." Aarons mother speaks.

Her son only growls in response. "She means it."

"Well, whether you mean it or not I'm going to give you the...uhm...Be...Be...Bene...Mama? Whats the word again?"

"Benefit of the doupt..."

"Benefit of the doupt!" Melissa laughed as Aarons Mom nodded. "You seem to have trouble pronouncing sime words...But Thank you." You blushed in embarrassment and just laughed.

"She's working on it. Don't give yoyr benefit away so quickly Y/n." "Aaron!" You glared.

"Aaron, have you ever heard mom apologize?" "She should apoligize for her face, yo'!" "Abeula!" You scowled.

This time your voice got a little more exasperated and threatening.

"Oh, come on! That was good! Up top!" Sylvana smiled toward Aphmau.

She left her hanging.

You clicked your teeth and shook your head in disapointment making Sylvana sigh.

"Ugh, Fine...I thought it was funny."

"Aph, is this really what you want?"

"Yes...Aaron, if we're going to be in your life we want to know your life, and that starts with the people who raised you." Aphmau smiled before pulling you to her side.

"Mhm! Even if they'll be bad and not very nice, at least it let's us take a chance to get to know them. Pleaaase~?"

"Girls...You two are so sweet. Alright, Mom? I'm giving you another chance. And you have these two to thank for that." You copied Aaron and folded your arms, nodding along to what he was saying with a prideful expression.

"That's all I ask..."

"Wait! Just because you're giving them another chance doesn't mean I have to, right?"

"Mom!" "Abeula!"

"Fine, Fine...C'mon, We've got christmas cookies to make!" "Cookies! Oo! Mom! Can I shape mine like a star or something?"

"It can be whatever you want." "Yes!" "Ehe~!"

You went to follow Aphmau and Aaron to the kitchen. That was until your ear twitched at sudden bickering.

"I've got my eye on you..." Sylvana glared, "Jealous I could probably do everything better than you?"

"Ha! You couldn't be a good Mom, now could you?" "Ugh! It, is, on!" "Anything you can do, I can do better!"

"Hey," You shouted with a huff, "No Mom fighting! Mkay? You two Mom fightin~?" "We're not..." The two sighed.

You held your head with a grumble.

This already felt like it was going to be a long night.

---

Now, the four of you watched as Sylvana and Aarons mother had a batter mixing competition.

So much for the no Mom fights...

"Sooo..." "Aha! They're having fun! Let them be." You rubbed the bandage Melissa put on your forehead and sighed.

"I'm not sure Mom...This might get out of hand!" "Yeah...I think they're in competition with eachother."

"I prefer to think of it as...They're just really excited about the holidays! Plus, if they're this into cooking imagine how they're going to do with decorating outside!"

"That's where your mind went...?"

"There," Sylvana sighs, "There! Plain cookies ready for decoration!" "Well, I have more!"

"Perfect! Now let's decorate!" You grabbed a cookie and began to style with grace...

But Sylvana and Aarons Mom seemed to turn it into another challange.

"Ha! Top that!" "Are you insane!? Mine are clearly superior!" "Uhm...I made a bunny rabbit with a cute face!" You smiled, trying to ease tensions but the mothers just continued to argue.

"We...Might want to step in." "Hmm..." The doorbell rings again making you turn your head.

"I'll go get it." Aaron offered.

You grabbed his hand and smiled up at him.

"I'll come too!" He laughed quietly and grabbed the handle.

He opened it with a friendly smile.

But the scent that drifted into your nose didn't even give you enough time to copy him.

A strong scent of Aaron, His mother, Melissa, and something else you couldn't place.

"Hello I--" Aaron was cut off with a sharp gasp if his own. "Who are you?" You quizzed.

He looked exactly like Aaron, but a little older.

His hair was neater too.

"May I come in?" He spoke.

His voice was monotone and deep.

It frightened you.

"Uhm...Would you?" Aaron murmured.

You could tell he was getting nervous and pulled him to the side, giving the male enough room to walk in.

"Aaron...Who is that?"

He didn't answer and only winced. His action made you smile comfortingly and pat his shoulder.

"It's alright Papa. You don't have to tell me..." He jumped slightly and looked down at you.

You laughed.

It would seem he's not used to the new title either.

You two made your way back to the table as the male smirked.

"Wow, you ladies look like a mess!" He laughed. "Oh! Sweetie..I--" "Hi!" Sylvana and Aarons mother blushed.

"Ah, you must be Aphmau! Aarons wife!" "Wife!?" "And you? His child..."

He bent down to your level making you step back slightly before sticking your hand out

"Uhm...Y/n! It's...nice to meet you."

"How proper. It's nice to meet you too..."

He shook your hand making your tail wag a little.

"Wife...I--Duh--Uhh..." You jumped and heard a thud, whipping your head around.

"Mom!? Are you okay--Oh, nevermind. She just passed out."

"Aph!? Aph! Are you okay!?" "What? Was it something I said?" "Dad, you've been out of the loop now haven't you?"

"Ugh...They aren't married, dear..."

"Oh! Well, my bad!"

"I'll get the eggnog to wake her up...This is going to be a looong holiday..." Sylvana sighed.

You tapped your chin and thought before another word caught your attention.

'Dad...Dad...!'

"Grandpa!" You cheered, making Aarons father jolt and look at you.

"Wh...What did you just call me!?"

"Ah, jeez..."
