*Alex's POV*

Today is finally the day that Servando and Maggie return to Orlando. Sophia and I have practically been counting down the days since the minute they walked out the door six weeks ago. My excitement was so high last night that I barely got any sleep. I quietly roll out of bed, careful not to wake Kona and Blue and make my way to Sophia's room.

"Morning," I smile as I lean against her door frame. A smile creeps up on her face as she rubs her tired eyes. "Did you sleep at all last night?" she asks. I laugh and shake my head. "Not at all," I smile. "Me either. I was watching the clock all night," she chuckles.

"Well we've got a few hours until their flight lands. I still need help figuring out how I'm going to tell Servando about the pregnancy," I explain as I sit on her bed. She pushes herself up into a sitting position and smiles. "I bet we can figure something out. We should go shopping. That way we can pick something up and I can get a new dress for the adoption hearing tomorrow," she grins. I give her a skeptical look. "Is this your way of getting me to pay for said dress?" I question. She laughs and nods her head. "Get changed and meet me in the car," I smile as I pat her leg.

...

"So what kind of dress are you looking for?" I ask Sophia as we wander through the mall. She looks mesmerized by the clothes as she drags her hand along the store windows. Sophia has never been one to get excited about shopping so I'm surprised she insisted on looking for a new dress. Usually she just throws on my old Cal sweatshirt and some jeans and calls it a day.

"Mm I don't know. Nothing too flashy. I just want to look nice tomorrow," she shrugs, not taking her eyes off of the display windows. "You'll look beautiful no matter what you wear," I smile, kissing the side of her head. She mumbles a thank you before pulling me into a nearby store.

...

"Okay what about this one," Sophia asks. I sigh and slump down onto the bench. "Soph this is like the fifteenth dress you've tried on. You look great in all of them," I tell her. She huffs and crosses her arms. "Alex I'm serious! I need your opinion," she frowns. I sigh and then motion for her to spin around so I can look at the dress. I like this one. It's a nice maroon color with light pink flowers spotted all over it. "I like it Soph. You should get it," I tell her. She frowns, still looking unsure. "Are you sure? This isn't too casual?" she questions, looking herself over in the mirror. "Soph why are you stressing out so much?" I ask her. She turns to face me then plops down next to me on the bench.

"I don't know. I think I'm just nervous about tomorrow," she explains. I start to panic a bit, worrying that she may be having second thoughts. "Are you not sure about doing this? We can always hold off," I ask nervously. She looks at me in shock, almost surprised by my question. "No! No! It's not that. Of course I want to go through with this. I guess it's more like I'm feeling overwhelmed. I never thought this day would come. I just figured I'd be thrown into the system until I turned 18," she explains. I take her hand in mine and give it a gentle squeeze.

"Well tomorrow is gonna be great. We're gonna make this official and then we're gonna celebrate," I grin. I can see a small smile start to spread across her face. "Come on. Grab the dress and whatever else you liked and let's get out of here," I laugh. She eagerly jumps to her feet and begins grabbing as many items as she can carry.

...

"So have you thought about whether or not you want to know the gender of the baby?" Sophia asks as we look at the baby announcement items in front of us. "I definitely want to know. That way we can prepare a little bit. Hopefully Servando will want to know too," I tell her. I spot a little square wooden frame that says, "baby on the way!" and pick it up. "What about this? It's so cute and it's got a clip for the ultrasound picture," I squeal in awe. "I love it. You should get a little gift box for it," she insists. I nod as we walk up to the checkout counter. "Perfect timing. We've got about 30 minutes before they get home," I tell her as we walk out of the store.

...

*Sophia's POV*

"Alex are they close?" I ask impatiently as I sit by the window. "They should be here any minute Soph!" she yells from the kitchen. I can see her scurrying around the kitchen trying to finish setting up dinner and getting her surprise ready.

After a few minutes, I spot the faintest of light in the road. "Finally!" I squeal, jumping up from my spot at the window. I sprint towards the front door and pull it open just in time to see Maggie jumping out of the car. She sprints towards me and tackles me in a hug. I wrap my arms tightly around her, not wanting to ever let go.

"I missed you so much! I'm so happy you're home!" I tell her happily. "Me too! Longest six weeks of my life," she laughs. I can see Servando slip into the house as we stay wrapped up. After a few more seconds of holding on tight we let go of each other. We walk side-by-side through the front door and find Alex and Servando chatting away in the kitchen.

"There she is," Alex smiles as she engulfs Maggie in a hug. I make my way over to Servando and wrap my arms around his waist. He gently rests his chin on my head and I feel my body relax into his. "I missed you bud," he mutters just loud enough for me to hear. "Are you nervous for tomorrow?" I ask him curiously. "Not at all. I can't wait until you're my kid," he says in a matter-of-fact tone.

His kid

"That's sounds so unreal when you say that," I say almost unconvinced. "What does?" Maggie asks as she brushes her blonde hair over her shoulder. Suddenly she and Alex are tuned into our conversation. "That we're gonna be their kids. It almost doesn't seem real," I explain to them. "Well it's real. You're gonna be stuck with us forever after tomorrow," Servando states. "Now we have to figure what kind of parents we're gonna be. Are we gonna be the cool parents? Are we gonna be the embarrassing parents? We have a lot of options here," Alex posits.

"Okay, okay, I don't think we need to get into that. I think we have better things to talk about... like the announcement that Alex has to make," I interrupt. I can feel her eyes staring at the back of my head now that I just put her on the spot. I quickly spin around to face her and can see the surprise on her face. "Al... the surprise," I grin. She scratches the back of her neck nervously and clears her throat.

"Right... the surprise." She gently tugs at her fingers before scooting around the kitchen island and opening one of the drawers. She pulls out the small silvery box and walks gingerly towards Maggie and Servando. The quizzical looks on their faces signal confusion, but the smiles tugging at their lips say otherwise. Servando takes the small box and places it down on the kitchen table.

He and Maggie pull at each end of the bow wrapped around the box and unravel it. "So are we just popping the top off of this thing or are we counting it down?," he asks Maggie. I loop my arm in Alex's and watch as they quietly discuss. "I think a countdown would be good. Knowing these two, anything could be in this box," Maggie answers. "Agreed. Alright count us down," Servando insists. Alex and I look at each other and smile nervously.

"3...2...1...open!"

*Alex's POV*
My heart feels like it's about to burst out of my chest right now watching the two of stare into box. I honestly don't know how Servando is going to react. My hope is that he will be happy, but this is also not something we really planned. The longer they stand there staring into the box the more anxious I get.

Finally after what feels like eternity Servando turns around and looks at me. His eyes are glossy and his smile is weak. "We're... we're having a baby?" he stutters. I can feel tears prick at my own eyes as I nod. "Is that okay? I know it's-" Suddenly his soft lips are against mine and my body relaxes against his. "It's more than okay," he whispers. Maggie and Sophia join our hug with excitement. Then it hits me.

"Oh no," I whisper. We all pull apart and the three of them look at me. "What's the matter?" Sophia asks. I feel around for the edge of the island and lower myself onto a chair. "Three kids... in the matter of months," I mutter. I never really thought about it before. Our family has really only ever consisted of the two of us. Now in the matter of months, we're gonna go from zero kids to three... plus two dogs.

"How are we gonna do this?" I ask looking at Servando. He looks at me with confusion and grabs my hand. "How're we gonna do what?" he asks. I stare at him in panic. "Manage three kids?" I ask. He chuckles and rests his hand against my cheek. "Babe I think you're forgetting that two of them are grown. It's not like we're gonna be juggling three infants. It's just the one. And these two are gonna help out. Right?" Servando explains. "Right. Absolutely. We'll help out with the baby. Make sure that you guys get some rest here and there," Sophia insists.

I take a deep breath, feeling a little less anxious. "See. We can do this," he smiles. He gently presses his lips to my temple. "Let's do this," I smile sheepishly.

"Now the real question is, what's for dinner? I don't know know about you guys but I'm starving," Maggies asks. We all look at her and laugh. "Well I did make pasta for dinner, but I think we need something better," I offer.

"PIZZA" we all call out in unison.

"Just what I was thinking. I'll call it in if someone picks out a good movie," I inform them. "Maggie and I are on movie duty. We'll be back down in a few," Sophia yells as the two of them scurry out of the kitchen. "Perfect," I sigh.

Servando gently wraps his arm around my waist and leads us to the living room so we can enjoy our last night together before we become an official family.
