"A week? Hyung! That's too early!"

"Told father the same thing but he said you are ready so early and late shouldn't matter."

Mingyu looked back at his older brother in disbelief whilst walking through the campus, having Vernon slumping his arms around his shoulders in a way younger claimed showing his emotional support as.

But Mingyu couldn't appreciate that at this moment. He was confused. Just three days have passed after that traumatising dinner he had with three brothers, he was not slapped with the news of his marriage being held just after a week from today. The thought of marrying Jeon Wonwoo out of all people he met made him feel like curling himself in a ball and throwing himself in dustbin.

He shifted little more towards Seungcheol's side, wanting to seek warmth of consolation that everything will be alright as Vernon had already waved his goodbye and went towards his first class.

Seungcheol and Mingyu on the other had still had about an hour before their classes start. Technically, they shouldn't be here this early but since Vernon had his early classes, he always tend to make his both brothers come together with him. It was good and bad, having both pros and cons for both brothers.

Seungcheol chuckled when he realised Mingyu had shifted a little more closer to him. The younger had clutched on his bag, which hung on his shoulder from one side, so hard that Seungcheol had to slap his hands away, making the younger groan in pain.

"Hyung!" Mingyu looked at him in baffled, Seungcheol on the other hand glared at him, punching him playfully in his stomach, "He is not going to kill you for god's sake Mingyu! Grow up!"

"I am literally taller than you!" The younger protested, earning a punch again and curling himself while pretending that it hurts, "You are a bad human! Punching your brother like that? Infact you are worst than him!"

Seungcheol glared at him again, feeling the urge to punch the shit out of his younger until he heard the murmurs increasing its volume around them. Both brothers couldn't help but look at front, finding Jeonghan and Wonwoo coming from other side, Seungkwan being absent because of probably being inside the classroom with Vernon.

Mingyu wanted to hide away the moment he saw the both, specially his soon to be husband walking towards him but he didn't, mainly because his older brother was clutching on his palms, making him stay on his spot like a statue.

The whispers increased more when Jeonghan and Wonwoo stood in front of them, probably expecting them to side away when they were literally standing in middle of empty corridor, people already backed off the moment they expected the meeting of four brothers.

"Side." Jeonghan ordered, wanting to make his way in between the brothers but Seungcheol stood in front of him, staring at him as if he was challenging his audacity.

"And what if I don't?" Mingyu heard his brother ask in a tone he didn't remember being used on him. His eyes then went on Wonwoo, the man who was visibly in bad mood, maybe after hearing the news of wedding in early morning.

Mingyu wanted to laugh the way Wonwoo had so much restraint on himself while he was trying not to punch him hard on his face. He took a step closer to him, definitely catching him off guard when his realised the eyes behind those glasses had somewhat widened from their actual size. Mingyu's tone was huffed, "If you are that displeased by me, why not call this off?"

It took Wonwoo a moment to realise what was asked before him. He looked at Mingyu, exempting if he really wanted the answer before he bust on him, whispering threateningly back at him, "Looks like you are the one who is more displeased by this all in two of us."

Mingyu was, but admitting it was never an option, "Then I'll see you at wedding. Let's see who is more displeased by whom there."

"Okay then." Wonwoo raised his brows, "The one who runs off would be a coward."

"Deal!" Mingyu, who was all sad about the wedding a few moments ago, was now betting his whole future in hands of a competition he knew winning would not solve a shit. His hands were suddenly grabbed by Seungcheol, who looked at Jeonghan, the one who was clutching his younger's hands tightly, "Let's go Mingyu."

He ordered and Mingyu did what his Hyung told him to. From the corner of his eyes, he saw Jeonghan dragging Wonwoo in the opposite direction and the mere eye contact between them had locked a pact between them.

The pact of backing off  being the one to be a loser.

"You shouldn't have said that." Seungcheol finally stopped when they were near the stairs, "This is not a competition Mingyu."

"I can't help it Hyung." Mingyu admitted. "He is an asshole but don't worry, I'll make sure to drag him to the point where he himself says no to this fucking wedding."

"I am not sure if that will happen."

"Atleast I am trying, a last try but it's worth giving up a shot."

================================

The class ended soon with Mingyu and Wonwoo constantly avoiding eachother. During the lunch time, Mingyu slid off towards the only table in cafeteria he was familiar with.

Upon keeping his tray on the table, Mingyu met with Seokmin, Minghao and Jihoon already digging into their food, not much impressed by his arrival, "You could have waited for me."

He complained but still adjusted himself beside Seokmin, the man who just glared at him, letting him know that he was mad, "Really? Then how about you letting us know that you weren't going to come University for three whole days?"

Mingyu laughed, finally realising that he fucked up. His friends just shook their heads, ignoring him further and continuing with the topic, "See, even the most popular onces are getting rejected."

Mingyu couldn't let his curiousness die, "Who got rejected?"

"That Cha Harin, she just got- wait a minute, I was ignoring you! Don't ask me anything, I am still mad at you for ghosting me." Seokmin sighed, trying to focus on the ignoring part than the bitching one. Mingyu on the other hand leaned towards his side, calling him in his higher tone, "Seokminah~"

Seokmin turned his back towards him, almost on the verge of giving up when Mingyu tried to hug him from side. Even Jihoon couldn't take it anymore, "You always do this! You always disappear and come like you didn't! Atleast pick up our calls fucker!"

It was a lie if Mingyu said he didn't felt bad for the three only friends he made in his whole University life. They cared for him, no doubt but Mingyu couldn't bring himself to do the same. His life was different, he wasn't atleast as normal as he was being treated by them. Still, he was trying, trying to keep them around without letting any of them in denger.

Being around him was like walking closer to tiger's den. You never know who will attack whom from where. Life was unpredictable to him, and on the top of that, Mingyu cherished his friends too much to let them involve in his personal life.

When he showed his big enough puppy eyes, stretching his arms and wanting to hug Minghao, the latter narrowed his brows, slapping his hands away, "We are letting it slide off just this once, if you disappeared again, we'll too forget that you ever existed."

Mingyu nodded at the pointed finger eagerly, grinning widely when Minghao shook his head and sighed. He was forgiven! His friends were too sweet to hold grudges for too long!

He then looked at the gossiper Seokmin, "Tell me bro, what's the news I missed up today."

Seokmin was back in his enthusiastic form, looking around as if making sure the said person in story wasn't there before continuing, "That Jeon Wonwoo, he rejected Harin this morning. Boy, you should have seen her face, imagine being so popular and well loved by everyone and still facing a rejection? I can never."

"That's because you are not popular." Jihoon snapped, leaving Seokmin being on the edge of throwing his chopsticks at him if it wasn't for Mingyu holding him already.

He couldn't help but scoff at the news. The rejection had something to do with their marriage for sure. It couldn't be just something, if Wonwoo had rejected her, that means he was mentally preparing himself for the wedding coming in a week. It was both a good and a bad sign, something Mingyu couldn't understand at the moment.

"Jeon Wonwoo is really something." Mingyu heard Minghao speaking, "What does he really want in a partner if Harin doesn't fit in his definition of perfection? Who does he really want? I can't see someone being more perfect in university than Harin anyway."

"Did he really said that?!" Mingyu was flabbergasted while Minghao had already kept his chopsticks down, all into the conversation, "He did! On her face! He even said she wasn't her type, in front of whole campus! Can you imagine?"

Mingyu shook his head in disbelief, "He... doesn't need to be that harsh."

The sentence only earn him few glances if curiousness from his friends. He suddenly felt like wanting to clear himself, turning all defensive, "I mean, i always knew he was a cocky man and I obviously don't like him, but rejecting Harin? That went overboard."

Minghao seemed convinced from his explanation, "I know right. He is really an asshole as you always say."

Every single cell on Mingyu's skin panicked in fear the moment Wonwoo passed from their side, Minghao visibly rolling his eyes while watching him leave and take his table in other corner. There was no way he didn't hear Minghao calling him an asshole, Mingyu added this on the list of 'things Wonwoo can kill me about'.

He just shrugged it off, thinking of living his a week of freedom on doing whatever he feels like. If cursing Wonwoo out was one of them, he'd too it too.

"He is a very typical basterd I must say." He heard the sunshine Seokmin say that while glaring at the man sitting in corner, alone. It was an understatement to say that he was offended on behalf of Harin. She used to be her all time crush when he entered in the freshman years, not just him, every man out there once or twice must have checked her out. Even Mingyu couldn't deny that she was pretty. It was obvious for her to have that all sympathy. "If not Harin, what is he really looking for in his partner?"

"There might be something in her he doesn't like." Jihoon added, stuffing the rice in his mouth and being the neutral one in four of them.

"Like what?" Mingyu found himself asking, thinking of if he got to know about Wonwoo's dislikes, he could make him back off from the marriage easily.

"Like her popularity? I don't know, he is too reserved to get to know about."

"I heard few people talking when I was coming here. They said Wonwoo is not a fan of people being nosy, people who cut him off when he is speaking, people who don't smell good and maybe the ones who are messy. But that doesn't fit the description of why would he reject her at all. I bet she had none of these nonsense!"

"I agree."

Mingyu on the other hand made a mental note to these qualities. He will do whatever he can to make Wonwoo call of the wedding. Anything means anything.
