"Max. I've been waiting to hear those words, Max." Billy Hargrove appeared through the foggy sky, Max gulped standing up from the ground hearing the voice of her dead brother. "Waiting so very long."

Max trembled in her own skin as Billy came closer, slightly gasping at his clothes, there was blood all over his white shirt along with a huge bite mark from the Mind Flayer. "But it wasn't the full truth, was it, Max?"

Max breaths out shakily, not moving when Billy reached up touching her cheek wiping away the tear. "You know, I think there's a part of you, buried somewhere deep, that wanted me to die that day."

Max shook her head denying the truth. "That was maybe even relieved." Billy cocked his head. "Happy."

"Billy, no, that's not true." Max sobbed shaking her head, her thoughts were racing, she was seeing her dead brother after a year.

"That's why you stood there, isn't it, Max?" Billy stared down at her. "It's okay. You can admit it now. No more lies. No more hiding."

Max sniffed shaking her head again. "Billy, that's not true, I swear. I saw it's not true." She cried out as she began to walk backwards as he towered over her.

"That is why you feel such guilt." Max cried out even more moving further back, but he continued to taunt her. "Why you hide from your friends. Why you hide from the world. And why, late at night, you have sometimes wished to follow me."

The grandfather clock chimes over them, not so loud but enough for Max to hear it with her brother taunting over her. "Follow me into death. That is why I am here, Max."

"No." She muffled.

"To end your suffering, once and for all." Billy blinked letting one single tear roll down his cheek, Max shook her head moving further back until she tripped with a gasp, meeting the eyes of Vecna.

"It is time, Max. Time for you- to join me."

Max breaths out jumping back up to her feet running the opposite direction, she hopes anyone would come and save her.

Julia didn't know how fast she ran until she was kneeling down in front of the girl, her eyes were white as ice, they all called out her name, shook her shoulders, but nothing happened she wouldn't wake up. "Max!"

"Can you hear me!"

"Call Nancy and Robin!" Steve screamed clutching to the front of Dustin's hoodie. "Go get 'em! Call Nancy and Robin!" Pushing the boy away. "Go!"

"Please, Max!" Lucas plead.

Julia rose from her kneeling position circling around the girl until she sat down with her back touching Max's, knowing what she had to do, Steve wasn't going to like it. She didn't care.

"What are you doing!?" Steve shouted, he didn't mean to shout but with everything going on, Julia brought her hands forward laying them over her thighs.

"I have to go into her mind." Julia muttered closing her eyes, Steve eyes widen shaking his head, he refused to let her in with Vecan, though it might save Max's life, he couldn't bare the thought of losing her, he knew it was selfish of him

"You go in you will die, he'll get you too."

"And if I don't, Max will die. I wont fail her too." Julia snarled as her eyes flashed scarlet red, she didn't let him say anything- her eyes closed searching Max's mind.

Max ran until the air in her lungs couldn't keep up with her, she looked back every time seeing if he caught up with her, turning the corner hiding behind a stone wall, trying to keep her breath steady, she peeked around the stone seeing Vecna.

"You can't not hide from me, Maxie."

Max pushed off the ground immediately running further down the cemetery, she stopped looking around the darkness she couldn't help but feel like she was running in circles. "Lucas! Dustin!"

She cried out hoping someone would hear her.
"Julia! Please help! Lucas!" Her cries for help didn't work seeing a dark red fog appear in front of her, she grew curious walking though.

Every step she took made her feet stick to the ground, peering down seeing nothing but darkness. Her bright green eyes looked away up to the view in front of her, the dark clouds with the thunder clacking in the back of the destroyed home.

The clock chimes above her head as she got closer, a floating door caught her attention along with a set of stairs. "What are you doing in here, Max?"

Max looked around hearing his voice but not seeing him, she stepped forward only for to hear a wet noise making her stop in her tracks, lifting her leg seeing tiny baby spiders underneath her shoes, with a gasp she moved back bumping into a statue.

Looking back seeing the body of former cheerleader, Chrissy Cunningham, her bones snapped into different places, she no longer had eyes. Max eyes trailed down at her hand, terrified. "Come back to me." Vecna voice echoed.

Max moved back slowly catching other body, but this time it was Fred. "How do you like them, Max?" Vecna appeared from behind her, Max gulped staying frozen in her spot.

"Would you like to join them?" Vecan walked further closer to her, Max turned away running but with a twitch of Vecna's hand a vine wrapped around her leg and she smack down onto the ground.

Max screamed trying to kick away the vine, until she was being dragged back and her body was thrown against a vine tree, the vines clasp around her wrist holding her still, she gasped at the vine wrapping around her neck.

Vecan stared at the young girl as she choked trying to catch her breath. "Max, wake up!" The voice of Dustin Henderson made them both look out to the open portal, as the familiar song "running up that hill" by Kate bush played loudly in her mind.

Venca couldn't believe his eyes what he saw, Julia slowly made her way with nothing but an angry expression on her face, every single vine he sent her way she crushed it without giving it a single glimpse.

"Wake up!"

"Come on, Max."

Max stared at the portal not missing the eyes of dark red peering into Vecna's head, the creature moved away from Max as the vine around her neck loose with Julia's magic.

"006."

Vecna called out her number from her time in the lab, she didn't show her curiosity on how he knew that and stopped in her tracks. "You know me?"

"I know more then you think, you can't help her, 006." Vecna turned back to Max inching closer to her, towering over her. "You belong here, with me."

Julia raised her hand towards them, picking up Vecna tossing him away across the forest, he flew back, rolling with the ground, Julia flew above the vines straight towards Max using her magic, ripping the vines off of her.

"Go! Get out of here!"

Max gasped taking her arms into her own. "How- how are you here? Are you in my mind- did I make you?" She didn't understand how she got here but was very glad she was.

"Magic." Julia breaths out watching from the corner of her eye, Vecna was slowly regaining consciousness raising up back to his feet. "Go now!"

Max looked behind her over at the portal, her body in mid-air with her friends screaming her name, in an instant she ran pass Julia heading back to her home, her family.
