12.

"Okay," Mr. Longmore says. "You are dismissed and please remember my five page essay next week. I will not be extending the deadline."

Nate and I make our way to leave the classroom when the teacher calls my name.

"Yes?" I answer turning to look at him.

Nate stops beside me looking at the teacher as well with a frown on his face.

"May I speak to you privately?" He asks.

It is now my time to frown at him. Nate looks at me as if to say if I know him before. I shake my head and his frown deepens in confusion.

"Uh, okay," I say and then turn to Nate. "Save a seat for me."

"Okay," Nate nods taking a long look at Mr. Longmore before finally walking out. "I will be waiting."

The last student( I think her name is Megan) exits as I approach the teacher.

"I want to talk to you about somethings I think you should know," he says and I look at him weirdly. "I suppose you don't remember me, so let me make it clear. I was your guidance counsellor in prep school."

"Oh," I say when realization hits. "The college student doing the year for practical at our school."

"Yep," he replys shortly. "But this time I am a permanent teacher and the time arranged to speak to you in prep school wasn't made-" he pauses and I nod for him to continue. "How about coffee tomorrow evening at Dicken's Café?" I nod in agreement.

"Okay then," he smiles gathering up his things. "See you tomorrow. You may leave."

I quickly leave the classroom without a second glance behind me. I make my way down the hall to stop at my locker to put my books in it.

"Hey," I hear someone suddenly says behind me causing me to drop my books startled.

I turn around to see a grinning Ramona. My eyes immediately pick up that I don't see her minions and I look around to see if they would pop out of somewhere. I heard they did that before to scare some freshman last Halloween.

"Hi," I greet with a tight smile and shut my locker. "What is it?"

"Try outs are this week," she says a little giddy. "I hope to see you there. I heard we are getting a new coach."

"Oh," I say. "And who is that?"

She shrugs. "I think his name is Mr. Long something."

I immediately know who it is, but have no need to tell her.

"Okay," I say. "I'm going to lunch. Later."

"Bye," she waves as I walk away and I see her minions approach her.

I walk to the canteen feeling the same like this morning. The world seems to go quiet and I am their main focus. I walk inside the cafeteria and it's the same thing. Even the lunch lady I glance staring at me. I wonder what's going on. Nate looks up and waves me over. Some of Ramona's minions are there practically throwing themselves at Nate. They seem the most normal persons in the room and the same with Nate as if they are oblivious to their surroundings. Maybe I am just being paranoid. I make a side glance at the persons in the room and realize they awkwardly turn away. That was definitely real. There's something going on that I don't know about.

"Hey Nate," I greet him as I sit at the seat beside him where he pats. "Thanks for saving a seat for me."

"No problem," he says giving me a smile and then grits out, "help me."

"How am I suppose to do that?" I mouth back to him.

He shrugs. "Please?" He mouths back and just then one of Ramona's minions touch his bicep with echoing 'ooh's and 'aah's.

"You owe me," I mouth before doing an utterly embarrassing thing.

"Okay girls," I say firmly and loudly at the minions. "You guys are getting too close to my man, now paws off."

I end it with a glare their way making sure they get the message. Snickers are then heard throughout the cafeteria as the girls hurriedly get up and leave. I see Ramona stare at me standing near the doorway as her minions brush pass her. I shoot a questioning glare her way and she smiles. Like literally smiles. What the hell did I do to get that?! To make matters worse she gives me a thumbs up before leaving. I then sit back down feeling a little freaked out.

"That was weird," Nate says beside me staring at where Ramona was standing. "Anyways, thanks for saving me."

"No problem and that was really weird," I say patting his thigh before eating his lunch. "You owe me anyway."

"Yeah, I like it when you call me your man," he winks and I roll my eyes. "My mom and I are inviting you to dinner this evening. Do you think you can make it?"

"Sure," I shrug. "When since your mom stays home and cook?"

"Never," he replys. "Who said mom will be there?"

I just shake my head forgetting about the persons staring at me in the room. For now. Well, until I go mad or something.
