"Oh..."Hiccup stated, scratching the back of his head in nervousness. The Whispering Death snarled at him and curled in on itself. Zira chuckled and pushed him forwards, making him stumble.
"Now tell me what's wrong with him" she demanded Hiccup, crossing her arms. He glared at her and inspected the dragon closely through the bars. It hissed at him and Hiccup smiled gently.
"It's alright..." He looked at Zira questioningly
"His name is Tempest" she said to Hiccup and he nodded.
"It's alright Tempest, I'll get you out of this cage and back to burrowing in no time" he made to unlatch the cage and Zira caught his arm.
"What the bloody hell are you doing! He's dangerous!" Zira yelled anxiously which surprised Hiccup.
"He's not tamed?" He cocked his head in confusion. "I thought you said he was your dragon"
"Course he is! I found him and I kept him! Tempest is the one who made these tunnels right here, I was getting chased by Drago and happened to fall in one just in time. I lured Tempest into the cage cause well... You know why" Zira said steadily keeping her gaze on Hiccup.
"Okay...if you want him to really be yours you need to show him he can trust you first" Hiccup shoved Zira off him and unlatched the door. She gave him a nervous glance when he stepped in slowly. Hiccup grabbed her hand and pulled her with him. Tempest growled warningly and Zira faltered.
" Zira, I'm going to get you in closer and when I give you the signal I want you to reach your hand slowly towards him and touch his head" Hiccup told her. She started to protest and he shushed her. Zira sighed and rolled her eyes.
"If you get me killed, Dragon Boy, I will end you" she told Hiccup crossly and he grinned. Zira got lost into his bright green eyes for a second, then shook her head and scolded herself. Stop that, you just met the dumb kid, she thought and walked up to the dragon. It growled another warning and then looked at her hand curiously when she held it out to him. Tempest stared at it for a while and then he finally put his head forward until her hand came in contact. Zira watched as the dragon closed its eyes and then drew back. She felt a hand on her shoulder to find Hiccup smiling in victory.
"Guess what?" Hiccup told her and she looked at him with wide eyes.
"What?" Zira whispered and he gave her a crooked smile.
" You just tamed a dragon"
