THE EERIE SOUND OF SILENCE SURROUNDED US

"Kageyama?" (Y/N)'s voice was all Kageyama heard. Everything was silent, no one was moving nor making a sound.

"I- uh- I'm going now, see you!" Kageyama said as he almost tripped obviously embarrassed about the situation he put himself in.

'What a way to catch your crush's attention Kageyama." Kageyama thought as he ran across the hall, 'Wait.. crush? I have a crush on him?'

When Kageyama felt like he's far enough, he stopped running to catch his breath. He's not easily tired because he practice a lot but with the nervousness he's feeling, he thought he'd pass away anytime soon.

That was definitely the most embarrassing moment he's ever been through in his life, he mentally noted not to pry again.

'Wait.. he called me by my name... HE KNOWS MY NAME!' Kageyama's face flushed red as he thought about (Y/N) calling him by his name.

(Y/N) was still confused about what happened. He was surprised to see Kageyama out of nowhere.

'How long has he been there? Did he hear me sing? Oh god that's so embarrassing.' (Y/N) thought as he covers his face.

Little does he know, someone's looking at him with an unreadable face.

They decided to go to their respective classrooms before the bell rings.

(Y/N) laid his head on his table, trying to process what has happened.

"Oh~ is our little (Y/N) tired? What did you do last night hmm?" (Y/N) already knew whose voice it's from and faced him.

"Oh no Tsukkipie, I am perfectly fine~" (Y/N) said with a smug look on his face.

"Tch" was all Kei could say, "So what's up (Y/N)? Is something troubling you?" Yamaguchi questioned and (Y/N) just smiled.

"Nah, I was just tired from running. How're things doing in your club?"

"Oh right! Speaking of that, (Y/N), Daichi told me to tell your friend that the two of you should watch us play on Friday!" Yams said which made (Y/N)'s mouth form an 'o'.

"Ehh? Really? Okay then, I'll try to go too!" (Y/N) said smiling, 'Of course I'll go, I'd get to see Kageyama.' (Y/N) thought to himself.

"That's great! See you there!" Yams said and (Y/N) just nodded since the teacher finally arrived.

Soon, classes ended and the students are either going home or to their clubs.

(Y/N) decided to go to the vending machine first before heading to the club.

I was on the way to the gym when I heard a familiar voice speak, I decided to hide behind the wall.

I saw (Y/N) in front of the vending machine, looking like he's making a life or death decision.

"Ahh~ what do I get, I love these two but I must only drink one.." (Y/N) whined which I found very adorable.

'Snap out of it, Kageyama!' I thought as I slapped both of my cheeks.

Then all of a sudden (Y/N) started banging his head against the vending machine.

"H-hey! What're you doing!" I asked, approaching him.

"Oh Kageyama, I'm just having a hard time choosing between these two.." He said, rubbing his forehead.

"Geez, you didn't have to bang your head like that. What if you get injured?" I nagged and he just giggled.

"Okay mom~" He said making me blush.

"N-no i-it's-"

(Y/N) laughed, "I'm just messing with you." Oh to hear that laugh everyday..

"I guess I'll just take this. I still have a few minutes, wanna hang out for a while?" He said, passing me one milk box, my favorite one.

"S-sure.. how did you know that this is my favorite flavor?"

"Hmm? I didn't, it's my favorite and I didn't know what you want so I just gave that one."

"Oh.."

We were walking in silence, it wasn't really awkward but I'd love to know him more.

"By the way, which year are you, (Y/N)?"

"I'm a first year, what about you?"

"Oh, I'm a first year too.."

"Really?! That's so cool! I'm at Class A-1, what about you?" He asked, stars visible in his eyes.

"Class B-2.." I said, feeling a little embarrassed.

(Y/N) seemed to notice and spoke, "Y'know, I sometimes wish I'm in Class B or something!" He said making me look at him with confusion plastered on my face.

"Why's that?"

"I hate how competitive everyone is in Class A! They always want to be the first on shit, I don't get them. The only chill ones in my class are Yamaguchi, Tsukishima, and I." (Y/N) ranted and proudly said that he belonged to the 'chill ones'.

It made me laugh which made (Y/N) look and smile.

I felt shy and just kept quiet again.

As we were walking, (Y/N) kept making jokes, lame and corny jokes. Sometimes only he will laugh at his own joke, which will make me laugh too.

With him, I feel at ease. I feel free and happy, I want him by my side all the time.

Then we reached the hall where his club room is located.

"Oh my, I didn't notice that we're here already! Thank you for accompanying me, Kageyama!" (Y/N) said and smiled.

"No problem, I'll be going now then.."

I was about to walk away when he stopped me.. by holding my wrist.

"Wait!! Let's exchange numbers, we're friends now right?" He smiled sheepishly.

"O-oh.. yeah, here's mine.." I gave him my number and he did the same.

"Alright, thank you again Kageyama! See you tomorrow!" (Y/N) said as he waves his hand at me.

I smiled and waved back, trying to keep calm.

'You can do it Kageyama, just a few more minutes..' I thought to myself.

As soon as (Y/N) closed thee door, I let out a big exhale. I started jumping around like a madman, I cannot contain my happiness.

I proceeded to the gym all jiggly, everyone's eyes were at me looking like they saw a ghost.

"This Kageyama scares me more than the usual Kageyama does.." Hinata said and I glared at him.

Daichi looked at me and smiled, I smiled back. He knows me and probably has an idea on what happened.

"Oh right everyone, I invited (Y/N) and his friend to watch the first years' match." Daichi stated which made Hinata jump in excitement along with Yamaguchi.

"Yay! Pretty boy is coming!" Hinata said while going in circles with Yamaguchi.

I just smiled and proceeded to practice.

I got home, prepared everything and did everything that I must do. I thought about texting (Y/N).
