Rhonda never gave a damn about her reputation when she was alive, and it didn't change after death. She was grumpy, and she knew it, but she always enjoyed school dances, and she didn't hide her excitement when Kat came to find her in the school theater.

She was already scrolling through different dresses, debating between a wine red color and, to no one's surprise, a black one. "The red one would look so good on you!" She looked up at her friend, not even trying to hide her grin. "Yeah, I know, I wore it last year already," and still, it was her favorite. And it had pockets.

"And who is your date for tonight?" Kat asked with a malicious smile. The girl had noticed some weird interactions between Rhonda and Dawn, but she didn't want to make any assumptions about her friend's love life.

"No one," she smiled back, but it didn't reach her eyes. "Why not? There are like 40 ghosts in this school ! No one good enough for you?"

"No one that cares."

She sighed, setting the dress next to her before settling on a velvet couch, watching Kat brush different options with her hand. "You mean -" Kat hesitated, not wanting to push her, but Rhonda was no fool. "Come on, Kitty Cat, spill the beans."

"Well, I know I'm new here, but you and Dawn," she was avoiding her eyes but finally looked at her when she added, "you used to be a thing, right?"

Rhonda finally growled, covering her face with her hands. "Girls have needs," she finally replied, making them both laugh. "But you like her?"

"If you tell anyone, I'll kill you, again."

The joke made Kat laugh even harder. "I knew it!"

"What happened?"

"Well, she was always weird and too clingy, too quick. Kinda scared me, so I kinda pushed her away. And we never spoke about it again. Then she began her weird fixation on the hallway, and you know how I feel about it, so I just-" she didn't finish her sentence, but both girls looked at each other with understanding.

"do you regret it ?"

She didn't respond, nor did she need to because her face said it all. "Let's talk about you and Wally." She extended the pronunciation of his name with a smirk, making Kat blush a little. "About that, I wanted to ask you something."

"Shoot."

"Can ghosts have like... you know."

"I'm not sure I follow, Kitty cat."

The blood rushed to her cheeks, so red it was maroon when she spoke again, nearly whispering, "Sex."

At that question, Rhonda laughed so hard Kat could see tears forming at the corners of her eyes. "Are you asking me if ghosts can have sex?"

"Yeah." She replied with embarassment.

"Of course, we can. How boring death would be without it. Can you imagine never having sex again?"

Kat didn't reply right away, and realization struck Rhonda. "Oh."

"What?"

"Did you, like, die a virgin?"

Just as her question left her lips, a loud noise made the girls jump in surprise, only to find Wally standing in the doorframe, his mouth open in surprise. Kat was glad to already be dead at this moment because if you could die from embarrassment, she would be deader than dead right now. She still didn't fail to notice his stare shifting from her eyes to her lips for a second, looking lost in his thoughts.

"Hi, girls," he waved, his face as red as Kat's. Rhonda didn't even try to hide her smile as she waved back. "I just wanted to confirm for tonight. If you don't want to, we don't have –"

"I want to, I really do." Kat instantly reassured him, ignoring the amused stare from her friend.

"Okay, great, amazing." He swallowed slowly, as a grin lit up his face. "See you at eight, kit kat." He passed a hand through his hair before finally exiting the room.

"I want to, I reaaaally do" mimicked Rhonda before she received a purple dress right in the face. "shut up Rhonda"

Nat had finally managed to zip up her dress when music reached her ears, more precisely "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift. She let out a chuckle as she hurried to her bedroom window only to find Noah leaning on the front of his car, holding flowers. "Such a dork," she muttered to herself, feeling hundreds of butterflies invade her stomach.

She skipped a breath when she realized he was wearing a suit and looked drop-dead gorgeous in it. "I'm fucked. Sideways," she thought to herself.

"I'm coming!" she screamed at him, gathering her phone and lip gloss in her tiny purse.

"That's what she said," she heard him reply as she closed her window and hurried downstairs.

"Bye, Mom," she yelled as she closed the front door before turning around to meet his gaze.

Her satin dress was a light pink, almost pastel, that shimmered in the sun. She loved it. And according to Noah's reaction, he was also a fan of it.

Indeed, Noah couldn't stop looking at her, wondering how he wouldn't end up murdering every guy who saw her in that dress tonight. She was spectacular, and she was his. Despite all she had gone through in the last weeks, she never lost her spark.

Her smile meant everything to him. When she walked down her alley and turned around to show him her bare back, his heart skipped a beat, leaving him no choice but to check with his hand if it was still beating.

"You are--" She didn't let him finish his sentence as she brushed her lips against his. When she tried to take a step back, he grabbed her waist and kissed her harder, leaving both of them breathless.

"I'm never going to get enough of this," she smiled. "Yeah, that's kind of the point, sweetheart," he kissed her again before opening the car's door. "Shall we?"

As they made their way to the dance, they unknowingly passed by a nervous Kat, playing with the hair tie on her wrist. She checked for the hundredth time that everything was okay with her strappy light blue dress.

Rhonda had assured her it was perfect for her, and she couldn't agree more. But she was still nervous about Wally's reaction to it. Would he like it? Was it enough for a dance? She still wore her converse and felt so small next to all the girls wearing heels. She finally spotted him, and man was he sexy in his suit.

His dark hair was brushed back, and she could see all the effort he had put into his looks, which made him even more... kissable. She really wanted to kiss him right now. She noticed for the second time again his eyes lingered on her body and her lips. The tension was more than palpable between them. "Here," he got something out of his pocket.

"Is that?" She smiled, taking the corsage in her hands. It was a white flower that matched perfectly with the aesthetic of the dress. "I know it's out of trend, but," he smiled shyly, "it's perfect." She put it on her wrist and suddenly had an idea.

"Give me your arm." He did without any question, and she slipped her hair tie on his wrist. "Here," she said with pride.

She got on her tiptoes and kissed him. He had to bend a little to fight the height difference between them. The kiss sent shivers down her spine, and she intertwined her fingers with his to enter the dance.

Tonight was going to be the best night ever.
