In 1920s Hollywood, young John Doyle learns the craft of cinematography when a stupid mistake costs him his job. On a tip, he heads to Sloane Hall, the estate of a famous silent screen actress, Pauline Sloane, where he lands a position as chauffeur. Sloane Hall first offers him peace as he enjoys the bounty of the luxurious home, then unrest as its beautiful namesake returns and starts preparing for her first talking picture. Despite his best efforts to resist, John falls hopelessly in love with his employer. His future brightens, however, when she appears to return his affection, leading to plans for a secret wedding-until other awful secrets intrude, leading to heartbreak and separation. A story of obsession and forgiveness, Libby Sternberg's Sloane Hall was inspired by Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre. It is a wonderful companion book to that classic. Some strong language in this book, however.------"An original story with complex character development...(Sternberg) knows how to tell a story and she does it well....a refreshing tale." Carolyne Van Der Meer, Bronte Studies journal, September 2011"Libby Sternberg's intelligent and intriguing Jane Eyre reimagining has achieved two of the most difficult goals in a novel: being a page turner and paying a worthy tribute to Charlotte Brontë's immortal story." -- THE BRONTE BLOG"Sternberg never loses sight of the story she's re-telling, but this novel is definitely her own. Readers have things to figure out and look forward to. Her prose flows beautifully with vivid descriptions of people and places, bringing to life a Los Angeles of times gone by. Fans of historical fiction and Jane Eyre in particular will relish this novel, and readers who enjoy a love story should definitely pick this one up."-KATHERINE PETERSON, FRESH FICTION

Note, this takes place before Infinity War and ignores the bit in Black Widow where the Red Room, also known as the Black Widow Program, was terminated. Also ignores the Socovia Acords. It stands to reason that there were others to escape the clutches of the Red Room other than Natasha Romanoff. Would they also be Avenger material? Would they maybe even help Natasha to see that her past does not need to haunt her forever, that she can let go and have what normal people have? Luka-short for Lupus-was a widow. The Red room ran experiments to create the best widow. They experimented with cell manipulation. They've fused Lu's cells with wolf DNA and they can not know that they were successful-at whatever the cost. Shortly after she was experimented on, Luka escaped and supposedly died from the inhuman transformation. However, she did not die and went on to live a life as an assassin-the only life she knows how to live. When a string of strange, animalistic, maulings occur in New York in a time between battles when the Avengers have too much time on their hands, Captain America aids in the investigation. Little do they know that the perpetrator is an ex Widow experiment and that she needs their help. Note, it's a slow burn and all characters belong to marvel other than the oc.**currently I haven't added any smut, there's some hot scenes tho

I didn't mean to fall in love with my brother's best friend. Kingsley Pierce has been my enemy since he befriended my twin brother in first grade. Who constantly tugged my pigtails at nap time in second grade? Kingsley. Who was to blame in fifth grade when an entire bottle of glitter glue just happened to pour onto my head? Kingsley. What about ninth grade (the first go around) when a full tray of beans appeared onto my seat just as I was sitting down? You guessed it: Kingsley Freaking Pierce. The man in question and I have been at each other's throats since we both realized only one of us could be my brother's favorite, and I have been determined to win. That is, until I started fighting a bigger fight. Four years ago, the government announced the presence of Enhanced individuals. People across the country started gaining what can only be described as super powers. There are the Generics (like my brother and me) who have heightened senses, strength, flying - basic stuff really. Then, there are the Advanced. The Advanced have unique and powerful abilities - like being able to control spiders or the elements. My brother refuses to acknowledge his powers, instead insisting he can live a normal life. I, on the other hand, partnered with the government to rise up as Tri-City's hero when the last one disappeared only two years ago. Despite being all by myself, I've put away more Advanced supers than I want to count - never losing a fight. My undefeated streak comes to a screeching halt when a new super appears out of nowhere. Crimson Current. He is wreaking havoc on the city with powers I've never seen - powers I can't compete with. So, why am I so twisted up about Kingsley Pierce when I have a hell of a lot more to deal with? I honestly have no idea. But can I just say, I am shocked.

Does the phrase "term paper" evoke even more fear than "gym class"? Does your brain cycle to "how long can I put it off" instead of "what do I write about"?Term papers are a lot of work. There's no way around that. But one of the big reasons we're so afraid of them is that we never really learn how to write them, at least in some useful way. And that creates a lot more work than you really need to do.This short guide will step you through the process that I figured out (through a lot of trial, error, and all-nighters) and has worked pretty well. This isn't an essay on how to write, but rather how to pull together all the other stuff.
