FandomCx compares Percy Jackson, and one of Tropical_Fineapples 's favorite heroes: Sora from Kingdom Hearts
Have you ever met a murderer?" the old man asked me as we walked along in the park. I was taken aback for a few seconds then I looked up at him through the light mist of rain and said " No, I haven't met one but I'd seen many over the years on tv and it scared me into never wanting to meet one, let alone talk to one." The old man wondered out loud how an average, everyday person would be able to get close enough to a murderer to talk to them-I said "Times are very different now, there's something called Social Media, and you can meet all kinds of people from all walks of life!" The old man, incredulous, said "Even a murderer the likes of Manson?" Yes, I responded sadly, even a perpetrator and abuser such as Ted Bundy. The old man said "How can we put a stop to this?" I told him I would think of some way. #nevermeetwithamurderer

Mack's just trying to survive high school. Not being able to decide on a college major, being a good best friend, and hiding from her always-disappointed mother are all time-consuming enough... and she thinks she's finally gotten a handle on things. But when she and her friends find a pirate ship in the middle of a landlocked lakeshore, things really start to go off the rails: her best friend's little brother professes his undying love and then mysteriously runs away; Mack gets shade from the entire town for being the babysitter-on-duty when it happened; her best friend stops talking to her, and Mack's parents force her into therapy to "talk about it" before she leaves for college... and *right* as the freedom of adulthood is within her reach, one of the souvenirs from the pirate ship starts acting weird and strands her *in the future*!Now, she's stuck helping to recover displaced artifacts from up and down the timeline, putting them all back before paradoxes rip the universe apart... She liked history, but she never thought she'd be living it!AUTHOR'S NOTE: I started writing this story in 2015. This is the first time I've dug back into it in about five years, really, so I know it needs a lot of updating in the "modern" scenes. (I'm catching some pre-#metoo mentality, and the lingo doesn't fit, etc. Don't worry, I won't be offended if you flag things like that that you notice, since I know it needs work!) Thanks in advance for any comments, as I thrive on feedback and am desperate to finish telling Mack's story (or, really, begin! lol)...
Sometimes I get a scene or idea stuck in my head but don't see it evolving into a full story. They'll be one chapter each but may vary in length. You'll find those short vignettes here! No solid plans on when I'll update as inspiration comes as it will - at rather inconvenient times.Currently:-Armory: Awakened abruptly by unwelcome house guests, Nael finds men going on a quest requesting her aid have taken over her living room.-Burn: Jonas is the last to speak to his dying grandmother, leader of their clan. She decides it's time to tell him the story of the blood red feather she keeps braided in her hair.-Red and Gold: Death looks different to the person who's dying. A woman coolly contemplates her death as she quickly bleeds out onto the golden carpet of her family's home.-The Side of Good: After the end of the war between Phillia and Stolryn, a soldier is sent to kill Vesh the Destroyer, the one who started the war. But when she captures him, instead of killing him she tells him her story.-Slay Your Own Dragons: A symmetrical poetry piece with a fantasy bent.-Ten Reasons: Are your reasons good enough? Might act as a fun prompt for someone.
