I mentioned writing this a while ago in a story of mine, and someone urged me to post it! So this is an essay that I wrote for my Writing 150 class about queer female representation in television. I got an A in the class, so I think it turned out good!

Basically, I was watching this chick flick with my sisters a few days ago: 10 Things I Hate About You, and I was inspired to start writing this Jily fan-fiction based on it. Anyway...Lily was the most beautiful, intelligent and popular girl at Hogwarts. All the guys used to want to go out with her - that is, until she got a reputation of hexing, slapping, threatening and punching any guy who showed interest in her in any way that wasn't platonic.
