Dorothy Gale has grown up to be a much older woman. She has vague memories of a magical world called Oz, but knows that's all it was... memories. However, things take a sharp turn when her granddaughter, Amber, visits this strange land of witches and talking trees. For some reason it isn't the same place Dorothy had described. This Oz, the present Oz, has been overrun by something entirely evil. Trapped in a tainted world far from her grandmother's lighthearted tall tales, she must figure out how to get home. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route, they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West to earn his help.But their adventure won't end there. Soon after their return to Kansas, Dorothy and (Y/N) find themselves whisked back to Oz to save her friends and Glinda from the Jester - the younger brother of the Wicked Witch of the West. The Jester is using his late sister's broomstick as a magic wand and is destroying Oz one yellow brick at a time. With new companions, the two girls set out to rescue old friends and restore order. But during this new adventure, (Y/N) would hear the constant talk of Scarecrow's love for her when she's only known him a day in her world. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, is an American children's novel written by author L. Frank Baum and illustrated by W. W. Denslow, originally published by the George M. Hill Company in Chicago on May 17, 1900. It has since been reprinted on numerous occasions, most often under the title The Wizard of Oz, which is the title of the popular 1902 Broadway musical as well as the iconic 1939 musical film adaptation.
