both girls flinched at hearing their short-haired friend's sudden cry, their eyes flickered towards minji who was looking up with both arms shooting towards the sky

as if they shared the same mind, jaein and yena sighed and exchanged a look before shaking their heads together at how dramatic their friend is,

yena tightens her hold around the pillow she's hugging and unconsciously pursed her lips into a pout, "i'm not ready to get rejected"

her words brought 2 different reactions from her friends. jaein who was right beside her, instantly outstretched her hand and patted the pouting girl's back as she felt she can sympathize with her.

minji on the other hand, had her mouth agape as she lets out another dramatic cry and slammed a pillow into her face to muffle her frustrated wails,

as they were already used to how kang minji acts, the two girls waited for the short-haired girl to calm down as they began to engage themselves in a different conversation to pass by the time

sensing her other friend became quiet, she turned towards minji to see the pillow already back on her lap as her blank eyes were staring at the wall in front of her

"you done?" jaein asks in a bored tone, making yena also turn her focus towards the short-haired girl

minji nods her head before outstretching both her arms and flexed her forefingers at the two, startling them

the short-haired girl squinted her eyes at them as disappointment was written all over her face,

"i can't believe my friends are total puss—" minji wasn't able to finish her sentence at seeing the threatening glares being thrown at her from the two girls in front of her, it was like they're daring her to finish her words

she had her mouth agape as her eyes blinked awkwardly. she broke into a small smile as she nervously chuckles before putting both of her hands into fists and held it in a cat like position at the side of her face,

"—puss puss m-meow?"

before the short-haired can even blink, she already got pillows thrown straight at her face. as the pillows fell to her lap, she had her eyes closed as a pained smile was worn on her lips

"ouch?" her 2 friends giggled at her late reaction, making minji sigh as she rounded up the thrown pillows into her arms and hugged it tightly

"no, like seriously- there's nothing to be afraid of, they like you back"

yena had doubt written over her face as she didn't know to trust her friend's words or not while jaein had her brows furrowed,

"they? back?"

minji glanced at jaein and immediately scoffed at seeing her surprised expression, "are you seriously unaware of your own feelings, ms. smarty pants?"

slightly irked by the nickname, jaein narrowed her eyes at the short-haired before sighing tiredly,

both girls noticed the distraught look on her face and instantly shifted closer to jaein until the both of them were on each side of her,

"it's just what?" minji asks using a gentle tone that still had worry laced in it,

yena was no different, worry was visible on her face as she silently encouraged jaein to continue by squeezing her hand

the silence jaein gave them made their minds travel even farther into any worst case scenarios possible as they also began to think of any consoling methods they can do in order to help their friend,

but turns out, what they were thinking was the total opposite of what jaein said next,

"it feels too good to be true"

all the negative thoughts left their minds as their faces brighten up once the worry disappeared. both girls internally sighed in relief before slightly leaning away from the girl in the middle as they shared a knowing look before returning to their previous positions,

thank god jaein was too immerse with her thoughts to notice their small interaction,

minji awkwardly cleared her throat as she moved her hand behind jaein's back and passed yena her phone while saying, "kindly elaborate"

jaein being the dense human ever to notice any movement around her only hummed as she tried to think of what to say,

her moment of thinking bought enough time for yena to press the record button and seconds later, jaein began to speak

but the smiles didn't last long as jaein suddenly let out a heavy sigh and glanced at both of her friends with a sad smile,

minji quickly zipped her lips shut at seeing a deadly glare from their tall friend before reaching out to hug jaein and rested her chin on the girl's shoulder,

"what i'm saying is.. you can't be scared if you haven't give it a try first, who knows—"

minji raised her both of her forefingers to their head level and held it in a decent distance, "—once you try it'll become like this—"

minji connected both of her fingers and locked it, "—instead of this—"

then she parted her fingers and made them cross each other, as to sign them heading separate ways

jaein couldn't help but break into a smile at her friend's attempt in comforting but also encouraging her,

as she was too immerse with minji talking, she didn't even notice yena who also joined in on their hug fest and also planted her head on jaein's vacant shoulder

feeling a head nodding up and down on her shoulder, jaein looks to her left to see yena giving her a warm smile,

"minji's right, it's never wrong to try first right?"

jaein felt undeniably grateful to be able to meet these two amazing girls, she actually felt glad to had herself trip over her own foot or else that book wouldn't land on minji's head and she wouldn't even meet minji

and if she never met minji, she wouldn't be able to meet yena

jaein wraps her arms around the girls' shoulders and pulls them closer to her until their heads were touching her chin,

"how on earth did i even meet you guys?"

"ugh this is getting way too sappy and emotional, i'm disgusted"

jaein and yena broke into fits of laughter at minji's comment as the short-haired followed their laughter before all of them broke their hug session,

"so as a conclusion, you—" minji pointed a finger towards yena, startling the girl

"—don't be a coward and give the damn milk yourself instead of leaving it on his desk, who are you? santa?"

the girl being pointed only pout at how straightforward her friend's words are as the other stifled her laugh, finding the scene amusing

but her laugh didn't last long as minji already had a finger pointed at her with the same intimidating look she gave yena seconds ago,

jaein became quiet as she averted her eyes elsewhere and waited for what minji has to say to her,

"laugh all you want, jaein but if by tomorrow i do not hear any news of you and donghyuck dating—"

jaein's eyes followed minji's hand that pointed towards her piano and immediately gulped nervously,

"—i'll pluck each and every key on that piano, got it?"

jaein cherished her piano more than anything so who is she to retaliate against friend's threat?

the frightened girl immediately nod her head quickly making the short-haired smile in satisfaction,

as the taller sighed, jaein's mind quickly registered what yena meant and immediately clapped once, catching their attention as she had a finger pointed towards the short-haired

before the short-haired can escape and run from the bed, yena and jaein were quick enough grab her arms and pull her right back on the bed not forgeting to firmly hold her arms down in place,

minji couldn't help but burst into fits of laughter as she had herself tickled by the sides of her stomach by the two girls,

she kept on laughing as her eyes got teary, she squirmed around on the bed endlessly as she tried to avoid their hands but couldn't due to having her arms locked in place,

she prayed to the skies above to let the girls have mercy on her as she hoped for the torture to end sooner,

and as if the skies heard her desperate cries, their tickling torture-fest came into a stop at hearing a familiar ringing from a certain phone,

"i-it's.. my.. phone.." minji spoke between her pants before slowly sitting up as they distanced themselves from her

yena passed her the phone and couldn't help but chuckle at seeing minji's worn-out state with the messy hair and all,

"h-hello?" minji quickly put the call on speaker and placed it on her chest as she continued to catch her breath again,

both girls peeked at the contact's name and found out it was renjun and they both thought minji might need some privacy as they didn't see the speaker mode on until the person from the other line yelled loudly to their phone and instantly got heard throughout the silent room

"WE NEED HELP! MARK HYUNG SENT THE KITCHEN ON FIRE"
