Ran asked, the two walking the halls together. The two attended Tokai university, though his younger brother attended a separate college. Y/N and the two siblings had been rather close since birth, being next-door neighbors and such. They'd walk to school together each day, and grew up together in general.

Y/N walked her usual walk, except this time, in new clothes. New, stylish clothes. That was unusual for her, considering Ran knew where she worked. He doubted working part-time at the supermart made enough money for new outfits every day, but it was none of his business.

"I have to work as soon as I get home." Y/N said, Ran quirking an eyebrow."You work at home now? Is this some new job?" He asked, the two exiting the building.

When her mother died a few years back, she was stuck to provide for herself on what she had left, though Y/N used all her mother's money to get into this college for a good education.

"Yeah Issa new job. I work from home whenever I want, and it brings in big stacks." Y/N hummed, glancing down at her phone."What's it called? You got a title?" He asked her, the girl taking his hand.

"Not really. I'd just call myself... an online worker." Y/N said, laughing softly while she felt somewhat nervous under his glances. His tired eyes watched her, analyzing her reactions as he hummed.

He accepted her answer, though he did have a few suspicions. But maybe he just needed to mind his damn business this time. As his love interest and best friend, she was his business though.

It was now 10 pm and Ran laid in bed, Y/N on his mind as he pondered what exactly she did for a living. It must be something lucrative, considering she was able to quit her other jobs for it. He picked up his phone and began to face time her, his hair up in a bun as he yawned.

The girl didn't answer, which was weird considering they stayed right next door to each other. He huffed as he got up, grabbing his keys as he left his home to walk over to Y/N's.

He doubted she was asleep, considering she'd always stay up until 2 am. He noticed her room led lights were on from the street, so he hurried over out of the cold climate.

He knocked on the door, the girl not answering though. He sighed as he just unlocked the door, considering the girl gave him a key a while ago.

He entered the home, slipping off his slides as he walked up the stairs. He made his way to her room before knocking, though she still didn't answer. She had her music on kinda loud anyways. He opened the door, only to be met with a rather...
