Donghyuck Focus

Donghyuck and Mark haven't been talking much lately.
Mark was leaving for work and adjusted his tie a bit.

Donghyuck saw Mark checking himself in the reflection of the window and walked over to the coat rack.
He looked for his husband's black coat and grabbed it out.
Then he walked over to Mark helping him slip it on, the two didn't even make eye contact.

Mark simply just didn't want to speak. The two made eye contact and Mark leaned in to kiss the younger.
Donghyuck gave him a short kiss and then smiled a bit.

"Okay then... i think you should.. get going"

The two boys at the table looked at each other with panic all over their faces.
Minchan was just finding this whole situation odd, she didnt want to point out the obvious though.

Mark head out the door and drove off towards his work.

Minhyuck scoffed and looked at his brother, he was scared...

" why are they acting like this?"

The middle child thought to himself, full of curiosity and confusion.

" you two! Boys go slip on your shoes! The bus is arriving now!"

The two boys nicely placed their plates in the sink then slipped off their slippers, putting on their shoes for school.
They grabbed their bag packs and said a quick, goodbye, before leaving the house.

Donghyuck smiled and then locked the front door.

"Are you exited for today?"

".. huh? Oh.. of course mom! What are we doing today "

" today we'll play the flash card game but English version!"

" what? English version!?"

The little girl sighed and threw her head back.
She continued to complain and whine a bit,

" but mommmmmmmm!"

" yes hon i know how much you dont like them but the "sh" and "th" sounds are very important"

" sh and th?! MommmmMMmm!"

" baby... remember just once a week ok?"

"Ok fine... as long as i get something after..."

"It depends..."

"Hmm... we can buy a movie!"

"And... that is?"

" Coraline!"

Donghyuck looked at her with a smile then answered,

"Coraline? Ok then... you just after to listen and try your best, promise?"

He held up his pinky and waited for her to lock hers onto his,

The mother and daughter had been playing the flash card game for about 15 minutes now.

Donghyuck showed a card saying the word " SHE "
The tiny girl thought for a moment and said with a bit of confidence,

" SH-A"

Donghyuck chuckled and then answered,

" close! It's, SH-E "

The little girl chuckled and then nodded, taking a mental note.

"Ok then! Let's take a break!"

The little girl nodded and then cleaned up her flash cards, putting them away nicely.
She took out her coloring books and markers. Then opened to a random page and began to color.

Donghyuck looked at her and then asked,

" Minchan? Baby I thought you wanted to buy Coraline"

She looked up at her mother and said while smiling,

" we can later.. when Oppas get home and we can eat snacks and watch!"

She said with a load of joy in her voice. Donghyuck nodded and threw himself on the couch behind the girl, so he could see her back and what kind of things she was coloring.

He went onto his phone and while he was scrolling through instagram he got a text.

He clicked on the message and saw an old image of him and Mark from their high school days.

Donghyuck smiled at the photo and texted Jaemin back by saying,

" make sure to give me that photo back on Thursday! I've been looking for it!"

He closed his phone and then he was reminded of something.

" memory chest?"

The little girl turned around and looked at her mom with a questionable face,

"Are you ok...mom?"

He nodded and then asked her suddenly,

" hey uhm.. baby?"

"Yesm...?"

"Can mommy go upstairs for a few minutes??"

She nods her head still keeping her focus on the coloring book.

"Go ahead momma.. I'm grown girl"

He smiled softly then rushed upstairs into his room, immediately looking under his bed.

" where is it.. where is it... where is.. HERE!"

He grabbed a medium sized chest and then unlocked it.
He opened it up seeing so many photos of him and his friends from their school days.

He picks up a photo and then suddenly it all comes rushing back...

"Donghyuck!"

A young Na Jaemin yelled from afar. Donghyuck turned around seeing the blue haired bunny boy waving at him from the end of the hallway.

He waved back and gave the younger a smile.
They talked a bit about their weekends and what they did.

" so then! Guess who asked me out today!"

The older scoffed and looked at his best friend in shock,

" Na Jaemin its..."

He looked at the clock then back at his best friend, continuing what he was saying,

"10am in the morning and you already have yourself a date for Valentine's Day?"

"Dates"

Donghyuck looked at him in confusion but his jaw dropped when he saw two boys approaching them.

One tall intimidating guy with brown chocolate hair and big.. arms.

The other was the total opposite, short and cute with blonde hair.

They gave a small wave to Donghyuk before snatching his best friend away just like that.
He looked at them with a confused face and then shrugged it off, knowing the younger would be back in one piece.

He put in his locker combination and it opened up.
A small pink heart shaped letter fell out of his music book and he picked it up.

He examined it and smiled a bit, he grabbed everything he needed front he locker then shut it. He looked at the time seeing the next class was about to start. He ran to his English class and sat down in his chair.

He quietly unfolded the paper with curiosity and read the paper in his head.

Your perfect sun kissed skin and your beautiful pink lips. Everything about you is perfect and your voice sends me to heaven. Your amazing style and breathtaking smile makes time stop for me. It's a shame we have the same last name because now you cant steal mine! I never knew what Love was till I saw you.

Donghyuck looked around the room and saw the boy across the room looking at him.
He slightly showed him the letter asking if it was from him. The other across the room just smirked then looked away.

" Mark Lee? "

" here!"

Donghyuck heard the boy respond and then smiled at the letter and then tucked it nicely in his bag back.

" Mark Lee... "

Donghyuck smiled at the pink heart shaped letter and then sighed.
He then saw something all the way at the bottom of the chest.

"What...?"

he took out the photo of right after Minchan was born.
Tearing up a bit he sighed and said,

" I love my family..."
