Tuesday, January 11th, 2022: 7:15 p.m.

"Shhh, Bebe, mommy got you, mommy got you." I whispered to Luciana.

"Dì a Boss che siamo arrivati." the big buff dude said to another man that was standing guard by the gate.

I understood them clearly because I, too, spoke Italian.

Translation: Tell Boss that we've arrived.

"Ok Boss sarà così entusiasta di incontrare il bambino e la donna." the other man said with a smile, then the gates opened up slowly, revealing a vast mansion.

Translation: Ok, Boss will be so excited to meet the baby and the woman.

"Hey, are you ready to go inside?" he asked, looking back at me as he drove up the long driveway.

"I have to pee, so, yes," I said, gathering up our things in the backseat.

I know you're wondering. Why was I so willing to go with the man. The answer is I didn't want to die. I want to be there for Luciana as she ages, so I'm just hoping they let me free. I've done nothing wrong. I want to be a mother.

"Aiuta, tira fuori le loro case dall'auto e indirizzale in un bagno." he said, looking at a group of men while holding the back door open for me.

Translation: Help, get their things out of the car, and direct them to a restroom.

"Sì." the men said, nodding their heads.

Translation: Yes.

"Come, we no hurt you or baby, yes." the buff man said, looking at me.

"Can I have your name?" I asked, getting out of the car; then I reached over and grabbed Luciana out of the car seat, which was in there when we got in.

"Fernando, my dear."  he said with a smile, then I nodded.

I was following the men to the entrance of the house. I looked down at Luciana, who was now sound asleep. I'm new to this whole new mother thing so getting her to sleep was perfect, even if it was for a couple of minutes.

The two doors opened with the help of more men, and the doors revealed an elegant foyer with a fountain in the middle with beautiful decorations.

Standing in the middle of the foyer, a man walked out from the left, and he was breathtaking. I usually only find ebony men attractive, but he was a different breed.

"You had my baby." the man whispered in a thick accent.

"Huh? I don't know my baby's father, I-" I started to explain, but he held his hand up, causing me to stop speaking.

"You got baby implanted, no sex. I know, but that's my baby." he said, resulting in me looking around the place.

"H-how did you know?" I asked, now scared.

"Don't be scared. I know because only one person had access to my sperm, and it was you." he elaborated, then I nodded.

"Are you trying to take my baby? Please don't take her. I love her." I cried, stepping away from him as he got closer.

"No, no. Don't cry. I want you and il bambino safe, yes." he said softly in his broken English.

Translation: The baby.

"We are safe." I said, wiping my eyes.

Fuck! I showed him weakness.

"Sorry, people know who you and il bambino is, so you're not safe where you reside anymore." he said. Then I shook my head.

"Can I go to the restroom?" I asked, hiding Luciana's face with the blanket.

"Yes, I see il bambino?" he inquired lowly.

"After, yes?" I said, then he nodded and directed me to the bathroom with Luciana.

Closing the door, I handled my business and washed my hands. Then I looked in the mirror and let out a silent cry.

Why me?

Why can't I be truly happy for once?

Taking a deep breath, I wiped my tears off and smiled at my reflection.

This may be the start to my happiness; who knows.

I was opening the door with Luciana still in my arms. I traveled back to the foyer where Boss stood waiting for me to return.

"What's your name?" I asked, gazing at the man.

"Leonardo, amore." he replied with a smile.

"Leona." I said, then he nodded.

"Name is wonderful, Leona. What about il bambino?" he questioned with the same hopeful smile.

"Luciana." I asserted with an enormous smile.

"Beautiful. Can I see her now? Only if you want to." he reassured, then I nodded.

Lifting the blanket, I was met with a pair of wandering eyes, so I nodded my head.

"Can you wash your hands, please?" I asked; then, he held his hands up.

"I washed and sanitize when you were in the bathroom," he said; then, I took Luciana's blankets off her head.

Walking up to him, I allowed him to take her from my arms, and he started smiling big, staring at her face.

"Amore mio sei così bello e prezioso." he spoke softly, and Luciana gave him a toothless smile causing me to smile.

Translation: My love, you're so beautiful and precious.

"Da!" Luciana said, causing my eyes to widen.

"Luciana, your second word. How did you know that's your papa, hmm?" I asked, playing with her hand while he stood there in shock.

"Can we talk formally, yes?" he asked, then I nodded.

"Yes." I replied, following behind him.

"Wow, this is beautiful." I said, looking around the living room.

"Thank you." he said; then I sat down on the couch, and he sat next to me with Luciana.

"I move if you'd like." he said, causing me to shake my head. 

"It's fine. Let's talk." I said, gazing at him as he held Luciana.
