"Why wouldn't you know yourself?"

They were engulfed by a deafing silence as no one dared to talk after Dahyun blurted out such question.

Dahyun metally facepalmed herself as she internally cursed, feeling her heart beat race by the tension rising up.

"I'm asking you a proper question—"

"Which I answered properly, as well."

Nayeon stared at her, trying to find any traces of jokes on Dahyun, testing if she's just joking around.

"Come on, Dahyun. Cut off the chase, I'm not joking—"

"And so am I."

It was the cue Dahyun took to walk towards her, carefully placing the small envelope on Nayeon's hand, the latter looking at it.

"D-Dahyun..."

"If you don't want to accept my invitation, that's fine. You could just invite another someone as well if ever you still want to go to Paris."

"I—"

"If ever you want to come with me, the flight will be tomorrow... 9 AM sharp. I'll wait at the airport."

Dahyun forced a smile before backing off, grabbing her purse and case as she excused herself, leaving Nayeon inside.

It was a few minutes before the boarding of passengers going to France but Nayeon's still nowhere to be found.

Glancing at her wrist watch, she heaved a sigh as the announcement had been finally said.

: Calling the attention of passengers for Flight 922 going to France, please board within 15 minutes now.

She grabbed her bag as she proceeded inside,  boarding the plane and settling herself on the window seat.

The seat beside her would probably be empty as it was supposed to be Nayeon's seat if the latter just accepted her invitation yet to her dismay, she didn't.

Going to a place meant for couples, here I come then. She quietly chuckled at her own thought.

She closed her eyes but once again opened it the moment she felt someone sat beside her, on a seat that is supposed to be empty.

"Thank god I managed to wake up just in time."

She found herself frozen when a familiar voice spoke, soon planting a soft kiss on her left cheek.

"Should we take a rest for now and just explore tommorow or you want to explore now?"

Dahyun was still perplexed that the girl she invited, she admires the most, is with her.

The two of them alone in one hotel room.

"I need answers, Hyun. I didn't waste my sleep and rest just to get in time and come with you here."

"I— Unnie..."

She tried finding the right words to say but she just couldn't.

She's vulnerable whenever the older's around.

"I thought you'll ditch me..." Was the first sentence that came out from Dahyun's mouth.

"Well fortunately, I didn't."

Dahyun can't help but run towards the latter and engulf her in a hug, causing them to stumble on the bed with Dahyun on top of Nayeon.

"I like you a lot, Bun..."

Nayeon can't help but smile as Dahyun nuzzled on the crook of her neck, feeling her inhaling her scent as the Tofu's arms wrapped around her waist which she mirrored towards her.

"I don't like you tho..."

She refrained her chuckle as she felt how the younger's body got stiffen by her statement.

She felt Dahyun's hands that were on her waist earlier was now grasping the bed sheet, holding on it tight.

"You don't have to—"

"It's because I love you, Dubu... a lot."

Dahyun smiled through her camera as she captured candid shots of Nayeon who's infront her, admiring the Eiffel Tower right in front of their eyes.

"Ba— hey! That's a crime, yah!"

Dahyun started running when Nayeon started chasing her, both of them giggling the moment Nayeon catched her in her arms.

"You're taking pictures without my consent!"

The Tofu had her arms behind her to keep her camera from the older as she was trying to steal it from her.

Some people whose passing by and was taking pictures in front of the Eiffel Tower also turned to look at them with smile plastered on their faces.

"Dubu~ let me see it. What if it's not good? Wha–"

"So are you saying that I'm not a good photographer, Ms. Im?"

Nayeon pouted as she shook her head no.

"It's not about you, it's about ME."

Dahyun's smile faded as she let the camera strap hang around her wrist before cupping Nayeon's cheeks, staring at her through her eyes.

"Are you hearing yourself, Nayeon? There's nothing wrong about you, you're perfect."

Before Nayeon could even tried protesting, Dahyun had already closed their gaps, connecting their lips together.

"Ah! The married couple are finally back from their honeymoon.."

Dahyun remained silent, not bothering to answer or to engage with their teasing and conversations as she stared at her laptop screen intently.

There's something wrong...

But she can't seem to pinpoint what it is.

"Dahyun, how was—"

"It was fun and full packed. Now, could you please... leave me alone for now?"

Her friends looked at each other, mirroring the same confused expressions on how Dahyun acted.

"You're stressing yourself out again, Hyun..."

"That's because it's Nayeon's life we are talking about here! SHE'S IN DANGER BECAUSE OF ME!"

They were all taken aback as it was the very first time Dahyun bursted out in anger, she's mostly the most calm one whenever handling such situation but this Dahyun in front of them is different, WAY DIFFERENT from the Dahyun that they know.

"Unnie, calm down... we can talk this out..."

"HOW?! HOW CAN WE, WHEN WE ARE TALKING ABOUT MY LOVE'S LIFE LINE BEING IN DANGER HERE?!"

"What's going on here? Why are you guys so loud— Dahyun? What happened?"

They all made way as they watched Nayeon rushed to Dahyun, engulfing the Tofu in a hug but the latter didn't even budge as she remained silent, tears continuously flowing down her cheeks.

"We'll leave you two be..."

After their friends left Dahyun's office, it was just then that Nayeon separated from the hug, wiping the younger's tears.

"I'm sorry..." Was all that Dahyun could say.

"There's no need to be sorry, Baby... what happened earlier? Why does your face looked so red? Were you angry?"

"Who wouldn't be angry when I, myself was the reason your life is now in danger?!"

Nayeon was frozen as she stared at Dahyun, her monolid eyes sucking through her.

"What?"

"I never should've asked you to come with me to Paris. I never should've followed my heart. I never should've—"

"Then we wouldn't be where we are right now..."

"That's the point! We wouldn't be here where your life is now in danger because of this sh-tty person in front you!"

Nayeon remained silent as she tried to calm Dahyun down, she can't bare seeing the younger in such vulnerable state like this.

"I wanted to pursue either going on Law School or being a Detective because I wanted to correct what my parents had done! They were syndicates, Nayeon! They're criminals and just how lucky I am to be part of their family with their blood flowing on my body, right?!"

Tears were continuously streaming down Dahyun's cheeks as she broke down.

It was the very first time she let her vulnerable state be seen by anyone, specially now that it is Nayeon who's in front her.

"I never wanted to be their daughter because they never wanted such person like me as well. They wanted me to follow their steps just like how my Brother did but I refused, resulting for me to be kicked out. They disowned me as their daughter as I did the same, disowning them as my parents."

"Dahyun..."

Nayeon tried reaching for the latter but Dahyun was quick to back away, not wanting the love of her life to lay a hand on such criminal's daughter like her.

"No... let's stop this, Nayeon. I don't want your life in danger."

"Ending what we have is like letting me be in danger as well. I can't live without you by my side."

"You're a detective yet you wanted to be with me? A daughter of the most wanted criminals in our country who killed countless people? Even some— no, A LOT of people that we investigated before were killed by them!"

"But you, yourself had already said it that you already disowned them as your parents."

"BUT YOU CAN'T STILL DENY THE FACT THAT I HAVE THEIR BLOOD FLOWING IN ME! A PURE CRIMINAL'S BLOOD!"

"If that's the case, then I'm willing to risk my life just to be with you."
