"Hey Nana, I hope you're doing well there." Jeno smiles as he fixes Jaemin's bangs a bit.

It had been three days since he's started to visit Jaemin everyday, it had been three days since his boyfriend's father had let him take care of him in his place.

┈— 3 Days ago. 🎞 ᝰ ↷

"Is it alright for me to visit him everyday?" Jeno asked him and the man just nodded whilst having smiled at him.

"Of course," Jaemin's father patted his back gently. "you seem like a very lovely person." He slowly held out to Jeno's hand. "Please take good care of my son for me."

"I will, don't worry."

Jeno sighs as he takes short glimpses around the room, stopping when he sees a few picture frames on a table.

He glances down at Jaemin's face and giggles softly as he holds his hand in his, just reminiscing himself in the quiet, comfortable ambiance.

After a solid minute, he recalls what Jaemin had told him before he came back here.

'Jeno, please.. Don't leave me.'

It plays in his mind like a broken record player, and as more seconds pass by, he feels tears running down his cheeks.

"I'll never leave you, Jaemin." Jeno places a kiss on Jaemin's hand as he continues to let out his tears silently.

"So, that's the Jaemin guy you told me about?" Donghyuck asks and Jeno just nods as he closes the door behind him.

"Sorry that you guys are having a harder time with the shop because of me.." Jeno mutters when they both start to walk towards another hallway.

"It's fine, you've worked hard the past few months so you deserve a long break." Donghyuck hums, putting his hands in his pocket.

"I appreciate you guys visiting me everyday too," Jeno takes in a deep breath as they stroll more towards the exit. "but Johnny hyung seriously has to stop trying to breakdance everywhere.."

"Hey, it's his specialty, he can't help himself."

"He almost broke someone's nose two days ago.."

"That was because he was too into it!"

"Yeah.. Sure." Jeno rolls his eyes teasingly, though he soon smiles brightly when he sees someone familiar.

"Injunnie!" Jeno waves at him enthusiastically to which Renjun just waves back whilst grinning.

"Hey," Renjun lifts his hand up to ruffle Jeno's hair. "you seem different, did something good happen?"

"Yep, he found the love of his life." Donghyuck chuckles as he winks at Jeno.

"In the hospital?" Renjun quirks an eyebrow at Jeno when Donghyuck nods.

"Okay, okay—you're here to get him right?" Jeno points at Donghyuck and Renjun just hums in agreement.

"We have eight deliveries to do for today," Renjun lets out a sigh as he takes a glimpse of his watch. "so we better hurry up or else Ryujin will kick our asses." He drags Donghyuck by the back of his collar to their car.

"Bye Jen! Don't do anything stupid!" Donghyuck shouts as he gets in the car.

"I won't!" Jeno shouts back, smiling at them both as they drive off.

Jaemin, I hope you wake up soon.

"I really can't wait for you to meet my friends, they're really weird—but they're nice!" Jeno giggles as he scrolls through pictures on his phone.

"Hyuckie's pretty excited to meet you too, he said he'll give you a bouquet or something when you wake up." He puts his phone back in his pocket as he sighs.

Jeno glances at the small but prettily decorated box placed atop of the table.

"I have a gift for you too," He grabs the box and slowly opens it right after. "I hope you'll like it." He smiles endearingly as he gently lifts Jaemin's hand, putting a ring on his finger.

"Now.." Jeno intertwines their fingers together. "We match!" He giggles in content as he watches the rings glisten from the light alluringly.

Jeno opens the door to see a peaceful Jaemin, still laying on the hospital bed as the sunlight hits the room.

"Hi, Nana." He smiles as he walks up to him with a paper bag in his hand.

Once he sits down, he places the bag on his lap as he proceeds to grab the item inside.

He puts the bag down on the floor as he gazes at a drawing that's framed.

"Remember when you drew that drawing of us? I tried replicating it.. But it doesn't look as good as yours." He chuckles to himself as he places the frame on the table delicately, careful not to mess anything up.

I,

"You know Chaeryeong? Ryujin's friend?" He trails off as he looks at Jaemin fondly. "She's pretty great at drawing so I'm taking some lessons from her."

"Once I'm better at drawing.." Jeno lets out a long sigh before continuing. "I can try replicating it again!" He giggles at the idea, getting more motivated to draw more.

you,

"Ah, who am I kidding.. I'll still be bad at it." He pouts as he glances at the drawing. "Should I just stick to photography then?"

so,

"Maybe once you wake up, we can help Hyuckie out with his shop together!"

much.

"I'll keep waiting for you, okay?"

Jeno doesn't notice Jaemin's finger move a bit.

He's been waiting for two years, two whole years.

If you were to ask him for the second time,

does he regret it?

No,

he doesn't.

"Hey, Nana." Jeno calls out in a quiet voice as he holds Jaemin's hand tightly,

like if he doesn't hold on tight enough,

he won't be able to catch Jaemin when he falls,

he won't be able to catch him when he lets go.

"I don't have a gift today, sorry." He sighs tiredly as the pad of his thumb grazes over Jaemin's hand ever so gently and softly.

"I love you a lot Jaem, I really do." He smiles when he thinks about their moments together, those times where they went on fun dates, that time where they had baked cupcakes for Jaemin's birthday, that time where they giggled at each other whilst kissing.

The times and moments that he considers special,

memories he wants to keep forever,

memories he doesn't want to be forgotten.

"I want you to always be happy without a care in the world, I want you to feel loved by everyone, make you feel special and out of harms way." Jeno tries to smile as he stares at Jaemin so adoringly.

"You make everything so much better, and I'm thankful." Jeno stands up slightly to lean closer towards Jaemin's face, trying to fight back the tears threatening to come out.

Jeno moves Jaemin's bangs to place a soft kiss on his forehead, smiling in delight right after.

He sits back down and lets out a sigh, holding Jaemin's hand and bringing it up to his lips shortly after and kisses the back of his hand.

"I miss you so much."

And with that, he finally breaks down, tears running down uncontrollably as he feels his heart ache so much from emptiness.

Jaemin, continue to be happy for me, okay?

And as even cheesier as this sounds,

you have the key to my heart,

so when you come back,

can you open and fill it with love again?

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Jeno glances up instantly to see Jaemin smiling up at him,

he misses that smile so badly,

so,

badly.

"Nana..?"

"Ah, why're you crying so much? I'm not dying." Jaemin chuckles as he cups Jeno's face with his hands, sitting up to press a quick kiss on the tip of his boyfriend's nose right after.

"Am I dreaming again? Are you really awake?"

"You're not dreaming, and yep, I'm really awake."

"Are you really my Nana?"

"Yes I am, Nono."

Jaemin giggles when Jeno hugs him immediately after the confirmation, feeling so content and relieved.

Jeno pulls away a bit, though still holding onto the other—and captures Jaemin's lips onto his own.

"Thank you for waiting for me."

I've put my other Nomin AU on hold for this, but I'm quit glad I did or else this wouldn't have existed in the first place—

Expect an upcoming sequel for this! Unfortunately not centered towards Nomin but Markhyuck instead, hope you'll like that too though!

Edit 9/17/21 : Sadly discontinued the Markhyuck sequel, it felt draining to write it and it contained a lot of sensitive topics—and writing it feels so hard, I'm so sorry!! :((

Literally everything here is so confusing, even I don't even know the what fuck's going on😭😭

So, Donghyuck is indeed an owner of a shop! (It got taken over by him after something happened.) His and Jeno's mutual friends help him out with it since it got hard managing it on his own after a while.

I wonder what shop that is though..🤭

Is this a time travel AU? A dream AU? I don't know either so uh, I'll leave that up to you...? It doesn't make sense but in my head it kinda does, though I don't think I'll be able to explain it that well..

As much as I want Yuta and Jaehyun as Jaemin's brothers, sadly in the 'real' world, he's just an only child.

So you may be thinking, (or not, but have this info anyways) where's Jaemin's mother? Well, due to unforeseen events, she died after giving birth to our lovely Jaemin.. ':((

the counter aiding customers most of the time.

JN (Jeno) : Is the photographer for them and
has been working for Donghyuck ever since
he took over the shop.

JHNY (Johnny) : In charge of drawing customers
in and is basically the life of their group.

RJ (Renjun) : Handles deliveries a long with Yangyang
and sometimes tends to help Chaeryeong out when he's
free.

RYJ (Ryujin) : Is kind of like their manager,
helps Donghyuck out with almost everything.

CHRY (Chaeryeong) : In charge of making
posters and ended up being the one to help
design the shop.

YY (Yangyang) : Isn't actually working for
Donghyuck but helps out with deliveries
anyways.
