(feel free to skip this chapter)

y/n had spent the past hour trying to clean up her studio. it was the one time a month she would do it, picking up old palettes lying around and throwing out empty paint tubes.

wilbur was providing a bit of background noise through the walls, strumming a familiar tune on his guitar and humming along under his breath. she of course could only hear the guitar, but it was peaceful enough for her to get through her chores.

she opened a random drawer, shuffling through paintbrushes until something had stabbed at her fingers.

"shit."

she mumbled under her breath sharply, seeing loose blades in the drawer, and small drops of blood dripping form her finger tips. the cool air within the atmosphere made it burn, worsening the pain as she clutched her hand.

she looked around for any sort of bandage, only to find an empty box and some paper towels. she quickly used the paper towels to try and stop the blood, rushing out of her studio door and over towards wilbur's, knocking sloppily as she tried to contact the crimson liquid in her palms.

his head permed up at the frantic yet scattered knocking, putting down his guitar and lightly jogging over to the door. his expression dropped into one do worry at the sight of her hand, quickly ushering her inside and shutting the door behind her.

"what happened? are you okay? i can find my first aid kid, take a seat."

his words were rushed and nearly panicked, having her sit down on a free chair next to a table scattered with sheet music. he shuffled through a closet he had, finding a small plastic bin filled with gauze, bandaids and everything else she needed.

he knelt down on the floor in front of her, taking her hand softly in his as he removed the paper towel.

she had injured her pointer, middle and ring fingers. each with a decent size cut, the tips of her fingers a deep reddish pink color.

"it'll sting a bit.."

he mumbled as he applied a cleaning pad to her skin, earning a sharp wince through clenched teeth. she squeezed her eyes shut, her other hand clutching shut and her nails digging into her palm to forget the amount of pain she was facing.

he made sure to he quick, not wanting to injure her further as he shuffled through the him and grabbed our bandaids. he laid them across her fingers, adding an extra around each to keep them nice and secure.

for an extra step, he applied a gentle kiss to each one, smiling softly as he stood up and looked down at her hand.

"just like my mum used to do. kiss away the pain."

he gave her a toothy and dorky grin, quickly turning on his heel to return the first aid kit to his original spot.

her face turned into a deep red color, not only from the kisses he planted on her hand, but from the fact he was so cute while doing it. the face of worry he made when he heard her wince, the genuine care in his eyes.

she almost completely forgot what she had been doing before, being brought out of her trance and clearing her throat as she stood u.

"thank you, i appreciate it a lot."

her voice was soft, waving him a quick goodbye and rushing back to her cleaning. she saw the drawer she had just gone through, the one that caused her to bleed all over her brushes.

she walked over and carefully picked up the blades, tossing them into their designated container and pushing them off to the side. she leant down towards it, smiling softly and tapping the lid.

"thank you. he kissed my fingers because of you."

she chuckled to herself, closing the drawer and going over to her many palettes with dried paint. she sighed and grabbed one of the blades again, using it to scrap away the paint ever so gently. she made sure not to cut herself again on accident, but then again, she wouldn't complain.

getting hurt would suck, but she would get to spend more time with him.

he would take care of her injury, kiss it afterwards, and give his signature smile.

she couldn't help but smile more herself at the thought of it, biting back her bottom lip to hide her goofy grin as she continued to think of him.

his eyes, his dimples, his voice. everything about him seemed to have her in some sort of hypnosis. she was always speechless when she saw or heard him, not knowing what to say or do in his presence.

she was head over heels without knowing, and didn't realize he was the exact same when it came to his feelings.

the two of them spent the rest of the day doing their usual routine. he played, she cleaned.

but they thought of one another the entire time. she cleaned dried paint and made sure her bloodied fingers didn't get injured, while thinking of what he had looked like while fixing her up.

he thought long and hard about the painting she made of him, and what she looked like while painting it. her look of concentration snd her dedication to make it perfect. he truly loved it.
