Hooriya's POV:

We had finally reached Lahore and were currently staying over at Usman Uncle's house here in the city. My head still hurt thinking about all the lectures I'd got from my parents and Chachu and Aala. Heck, even Usman Uncle and Khateeja Aunty were immensely displeased by the quite dangerous stunt I'd pulled earlier. They were so mad that my father forbade me from ever driving again, and knowing my father, he probably meant it. I pouted in displeasure as I recalled Suleiman's reaction.

The man hasn't even looked at me since the whole incident, it acted as an ignite for yesterday's argument, and I knew for a fact that he was now mad beyond words. Sighing and trying to get rid of the troublesome thoughts for the time being, I stood up and headed over to the dining room for dinner. Just as I entered, Madiha and Mansha beckoned me over and asked me to join them. Luckily everyone's anger seemed to have dissipated as everyone was back to their cheerful moods.

"Hoori Api, hum kal ghumne phirne ki planning kar rahein hai. Kitna maza aye ga na! Lahore dekh ei way itna arsa hogaya hai, ab tou mein aur bhi excited hoon! (Hoori Api, we're planning on going out tomorrow. It will be so much fun! It's been a while since I last visited Lahore, that makes me all the more excited)" A chirpy Madiha dreamily exclaimed and started making a verbal list of all our destinations for tomorrow. I, along with everyone else, chuckled at her enthusiasm. After having gobbled down the delicious chicken tikka and naan, I let out a dreamy sigh. Nothing could ever beat the food of my wonderful country. Just as I was about to get a hold of some of the mango ice cream we'd got for dessert, my father cleared his throat and asked for everyone's attention.

(Hungry, anyone? 😏)

"Hum theeno ke aik bohat azeez dost ki call ayi thi aj, aur unhone apne ghar dinner par bulaya hai kal. Aur unki beti ki shaadi ki invitation bhi di hai agle hafte kay lia, (A very good friend of ours called us today and invited us over for dinner tomorrow. And he's also invited us to his daughter's wedding which will be held next week)" Madiha and Mansha squealed out loud at the prospect of attending a wedding whilst everyone else seemed pleased with the idea as well. After all, who'd want to miss out on all the scrumptious free food they'd be serving! My mouth watered just at the thought of it.

"But I didn't even pack anything fancy or wedding-worthy, after all, how was I supposed to know we'd be attending a wedding?! What will I even wear?!" An overly-panicked Mansha gasped in realisation as a cute pout adorned her features.

"Beta, ye bhi bhala koi sawal hai? Parso shopping pay chalein gein hum sab, koi masla nahi hai. Tum log filhal kal raat ki planning karo, (Dear, is that even a question? We'll go shopping the day after tomorrow, don't worry about it. Focus more on tomorrow night's dinner for now)" Yaqub Chachu passed Mansha an assuring smile and the elders soon got engrossed in their own talks.

"Haye, kitna maza aye ga! Itne arse say humne koi bhi shaadi attend nahi ki, we're going to have a blast! (Ah, we're going to have so much fun! It's been so long since I've attended a wedding)" Madiha immediately got into over-excited mood as she and Mansha started talking about what to buy for the upcoming wedding.

"Mere mou mein tou abhi se hi pani a raha hai khanne ka soch ke, (My mouth is already watering thinking about all the food)" Umar let out a slightly exasperated sigh as Bilal and Ahsan joined him and the three actually started discussing what types of dishes they were expecting to see. I just shoke my head at their childish behaviour and joined in with Mansha and Madiha. Suleiman, though, seemed to be deeply immersed in his phone throughout the whole dinner.

I woke up at 1.30 pm the next day as we all had gone to bed at 5 in the morning after watching two comedy movies in a row! These five idiots were really starting to get to me, I thought as a light smile crossed my face. After having eating a delicious breakfast, we all decided to go out and have a quick tour around the city. We visited the Badshahi Mosque, Lahore fort and Minar-e-Pakistan. After finally spending about four hours travelling around, we rushed home to get ourselves ready for the night.

I took out a beautiful black kameez and paired it with a black net dupatta my mother had gifted me for my birthday the previous year. After showering and getting dressed, I applied light makeup that consisted of eyeliner, a mascara and light lip gloss. I really wasn't one for doing expert makeup, or any makeup at all for that matter. Once I was fully satisfied with my look, I grabbed my bag and headed towards the lounge where everyone was supposed to be waiting. As soon as I entered though, the only person present was Suleiman.

He looked up when he saw me coming. But he didn't look down again. His expression was a mixture of amazement and appreciation as his eyes scrutinized my figure with their soul shaking intensity. He was clearly checking me out. I looked away from his heated gaze as the shyness started seeping in, but before I could go back and hide away from his shameless staring, I saw my parents coming in. Sighing in relief, I patiently waited for the others to arrive.

"Mashallah, bohat pyari beti hai apki, (Mashallah, you have such a lovely daughter)" Zubaida Aunty, my father's friend's wife, exclaimed. I blushed at her compliment and gave her a polite smile while she continued to talk with the other three ladies.

I wasn't one for socialising much, you see. After politely excusing myself, I walked over to Mansha and Madiha who were busy talking to the bride-to-be and her sister. I passed them a warm, friendly smile as I sat down next to the bride's sister and started a polite conversation with her. I learned that her name was Maria, and that she was currently in her second year of university studying Psychology. She was a sweet, soft-spoken girl. Just as I was about to start up a conversation with the bride, I heard a deep, manly voice greeting everyone and my brain immediately recognized the voice.

I turned around to come face-to-face with my best friend of five years, Sameer Ahmed. At first I was shocked as to what he was doing here, but as Zahid Uncle (The friend) introduced him as his nephew, my confusion faded away and I was genuinely happy to see him. I stood up with a huge smile on my face, and after a few seconds, Sameer too returned it with a thousand-watt smile of his own.

"Why hello there, mi amigo, fancy seeing you here," He passed me a wink, which I knew was totally innocent, and gave him a goofy grin.

"Hello to you too, mon amei, fancy being here," I did a fake French accent at the end and we both laughed it off as everyone else gave us confused looks. All except one. I could practically feel his lethal glare burning holes in my body.

Uh-oh. This was bad.

Sameer is here! πŸ™Š I feel sorry for the poor guy, he's being dragged into this story to face Suleiman's wrath for no reason, but do I at all feel guilty?

Nope, not in the least! 😈😏

Anyways, just to clear things, Sameer over here harbours absolutely no wrong intentions towards our Hooriya, in fact, he considers her his sister! So no worries from his side! 😁 *winking and smiling at all the wonderful people out there*

Also, is my writing style satisfactory? I feel being an AS english student I should be confident about my writing, but still, is there anything I could perhaps change or improve? Please do point out anything you find displeasing or wrong, it'll help me out tons!

Anyways, hope y'all enjoyed! πŸ’ž

Till next time,

K
