CREDITS + INSPIRATION:

The concept is inspired by @/animatedrapture's (on tumblr) Suna smaus.
I don't remember much of the plot of their stories, just the gbf concept and the emotions it gave me at the time.

This is also inspired by all the filo smaus I've been reading. I was so tempted to write this fic in Filipino since it'll be so much easier to write dialogues and I wanted to make them conyo just because lol. Iykyk.

This story is brought to you by my delusions and red flag playlist.

Enjoy reading!

00 - Why It Never Lasts

U N E D I T E D

"But when I touch her, I feel like i'm cheating on you."

- Cheating on you by Charlie Puth

"Saw someone running outside, how many girls are you planning to break up with this month?"

Oliver groaned as he heard the voice of his friend, accompanied by more than one pair of footsteps.

Great.

Oliver scowled as the faces of his friends came to view.

"Can you guys not? It's like six in the morning, leave me alone." Oliver groaned, looking away as he refused to acknowledge the presence and expressions of his friends.

"You need to stop dating if you're just gonna leave them in a week or two." Yukimiya said, tossing the discarded boxers from the floor to Oliver, causing the said man to roll his eyes in response while catching the garment thrown his way with ease.

"Even a week's generous, man." Karasu teased.

"I'm not the one breaking up with them." Oliver argued before casually wearing the garment under the blanket.

"You don't, but you're shoving the reasons why they should, right at their faces." Karasu said, smirking at the reaction his friend had given him.

"It's like you're begging them to break up with you. Why don't you just date Y—" A pillow landed on Otoya's face before he could finish his sentence. Not taking any offence to the action, he only snickered before throwing back the pillow at his irritated friend.

"Don't even finish that shit Eita, I swear to god."

"What? You treat her better than any of the girls you've been with anyway."

"—which is a really shitty thing to do by the way." Yukimiya added as he glared at the three men. While the other dark haired man was nowhere near the level of the other two, the three still shared similar quirks.

Otoya only raised his hands while Karasu raised a single brow at their friend's implication. He knew he was nowhere near as bad as the two but that didn't necessarily make him any better.

"Whatever. You guys know y/n and I aren't like that. She's my best friend, that's all there is." Oliver explained.

"Then why did that girl break up with you?"

"First of all, we weren't dating. We just have... sleeping arrangements." Oliver said as he ignored the side comments and snickering of his two other friends.

"That's what they call it now?" "At least I don't word it like that."

"Then why did she leave so early in the morning while crying?" Yukimiya drilled even more, genuinely annoyed at whatever his friend possibly did. He had been reprimanding them over and over to be better. While they had undeniably gotten better compared to their freshmen days, Oliver was still somehow the worst among their group.

And Yukimiya knew there was one specific factor why.

Oliver muttered the answer under his breath, leaving the three confused by what he said.

"Boy if you don't speak up—"

"Ver why's your door open?"

Before Karasu could even finish his statement, a voice echoed through Oliver's condo. A very familiar voice at that.

Otoya and Karasu could only chuckle while Yukimiya deadpanned at Oliver as they indirectly got the answer they were looking for.

"Oh, you guys are here too?"

In the door stands the h/c haired woman they were just talking about.

"Hey, Y/n-chan! Whatcha doing here?" Karasu asked, approaching the mentioned girl.

"Oh, I asked Ver if he could come with me somewhere. Did you guys have plans, I can leave—"

"We don't! These guys just came to pick something up." Oliver said, cutting off Y/n while grabbing the bag she had been holding.

"They're leaving anyways, right?" Oliver asked, the three immediately understood and followed through, fully knowing that it wasn't a question.

"Yeah, we're gonna go now." Otoya nodded before patting the back of a slightly annoyed Yukimiya.

"Have a great day ahead Y/n." Yukimiya bowed as the three passed the door, all saying their farewells to the two.

"You still look tired, Ver, we can just go tomorrow you know?"

Oliver turned and gently smiled at the girl beside him.

"I'm not, just wait for me and I'll quickly get ready, yeah?"

"Alright."

Oliver returned the sweet smile he received. The words his friends mentioned earlier suddenly echoing louder in his head. Maybe it was because the person they were pertaining too was here right now. Oliver shook his head, refusing to think about it much deeper.

That's stupid. Y/n's my best friend. Oliver mentally told himself.

Nothing more.

Nothing less.

EXTRA:

"I thought you said Oliver was coming?"

Otoya looked at the red-haired and blonde duo coming their way. The blond noticing Yukimiya's slightly annoyed expression, laughed, already guessing what might have happened.

"Did Y/n visit Oliver?"

"If you already know the answer, why bother asking." Yukimiya replied in annoyance.

Shidou laughed even more. Sae looked at the tan man with an unchanging expression before returning his gaze to the three.

"So even his close friends aren't safe from getting kicked out and ignored when it's Y/n?"

"Please, i'm pretty sure even his parents aren't safe when it comes to her."

Author's Notes:

I haven't written in a year now so i'm quite nervous on how this will turn out. If you're waiting for updates on my other story, I can't really promise anything right now, i'm sorry 🥲 Even this story will probably have inconsistent updates because college is keeping me busy.

I won't be rating this as mature cause there won't really be anything explicit but do let me know if you feel like I should!
