โ€ข CHAPTER FIVE โ€ข

Recovery girl was busy with something today, so you were left to be in charge. Instead of doing certain hours of the day you were to work all day, but you didn't really mind. Your teachers were informed with this so there would be no problems.

Not many students came to the office so far. There were a few from class 1-A who had gotten hurt during their training. You were surprised to not see Izuku come in, considering his class was doing training, and usually when they did he would get injured somehow.

Maybe he was getting better control of his quirk?

The thought made you smile. He was progressing quickly, getting closer and closer to his dream. You were glad, happy for him. He works so hard all the time, if he has to break every bone in his body just to get closer to his goals, then he'd do it. Proof of that is him coming in the nurse's office every other day.

You were happy with how your daily life was going too. The days were a bit repetitive, but you'd have those moments with Izuku that made everything a little more interesting.

The day so far had been boring. You found yourself looking out the window bird watching for the majority of the time. If that wasn't it, then you were filling out papers.

After another few boring minutes past of sitting in the same chair with the same view, you sighed. You got up and stretched before letting your legs carry you to the nearest vending machine in the halls.

You made it to the vending machine and took out some extra change that was in your pocket. Seconds later you had your chosen drink and you gulped it down quickly. Even though you literally sat down and did nothing for the majority of the day, you never got up to get anything to eat or drink, so you were hungry and thirsty.

You stared outside the window for a few moments whilst drinking the beverage you'd bought.

The leaves decorated the trees and danced in the gentle air. The flowers gave the green grass a pop of colour, and they too, danced in the nice breeze. The sun shone through the windows and provided a nice warmth to your skin, and a pretty shine to your eyes.

The weather reporters had said it was going to be cloudy with a 70% chance rain, but nature proved them wrong. Guess bringing your umbrella was pointless.

The end of the school-day was nearing and you were excited for this long, boring day to come to an end. You would probably go home and eat some snacks while finishing the anime you started days before. Maybe even go for a short walk or read a few chapters of your book. Either way, you were just looking forward to actually being entertained.

You were pretty tired too and wouldn't mind a nice power nap, but that would have to wait because there was still one hour left until you could wrap up the school-day.

You heard foot steps heading to your area but you didn't pay any mind to it. You could hear the noise of the person put money into the vending machine, but still, there wasn't any need to know who it was.

"(Y/n), hey," you heard the voice of a male greet you. You finally turned to them and relaxed when the person standing there was familiar.

"Oh Shinsou," you smiled, "sorry, I didn't notice it was you," you said to him.

"I was just getting a drink before I head back to class," he said, holding the mentioned drink in his hand.

"Nice. Same here, accept I'm going back to the nurse's office," you said, "recovery girl needed to be someplace else today, so I have to fill in," you informed him.

Shinsou was one of your classmates, and you were well acquainted. You talked to him sometimes in class, but it was nothing too personal.

He was very keen on getting accepted into the hero program, and he had talked to you about it one time. The majority of the students in the General education department were just the unlucky ones who didn't make the cut for the hero course, so it wasn't a surprise that he and other students wanted to switch programs.

You just so happened to be a part of the unlucky bunch, but you learned to accept it and move on.

"No wonder you weren't in class all day," he concluded his question on your absence.

"It was nice talking to you," you smiled, "but I think we should go our separate ways, if not you'll get a scolding from the teacher," you said with a small chuckle.

"Yeah," he sighed, the thought of your teacher being upset wasn't a good one.

"Alright, bye," you waved and turned to walk back to the nurse's office.

"Bye," you heard his faint reply as he walked the opposite way.

You hummed a song as you walked back, you took your time and walked at a rather slow pace whilst admiring the interior design of the building.

You were about to enter the room but jumped when you saw a person sitting on the hospital bed. "I-Izuku, I didn't know you were in here," you breathed and put your hand over your heart to calm yourself.

"Oh haha," he chuckled, "sorry, I didn't mean to startle you," he said.

"I came here for treatment but you weren't here, so I decided to wait," he told you. "Treatment? You got hurt again?" You genuinely asked. You thought he was getting better control of his quirk.

"Yes, unfortunately," he replied.

"Izuku," you sighed sadly, "where are you injured then?" You asked walking towards him and taking a seat beside him.

"My hand," he said whilst placing his broken hand in yours. You examined his hand gently and precisely, to identify exactly what his injury was.

Yep, it was broken...again.

"Alright, I'll get you healed in no time," you reassured with a smile.

You quickly got up and wrote his name down on a form, then his injury, and lastly the time and date.

Placing the pen down next to the neat paper you turned back around and returned to your seat. As you activated your quirk, you could feel power run through your veins. You felt more awake then before, like you'd just drank a cup of coffee.

The best way you could explain the activation of your quirk was that you were a character in a video game whose HP level went up.

When treating someone, you would focus all of your power to one area, in that case your palms, and in that focused area it would glow an aqua colour. You'd then hover your hands over the injury. It was a simple procedure.

When you use your quirk on someone they felt more awake and lively. The after affects of your quirk were the opposite from recovery girl's.

With a nice inhale and exhale you began the healing process on Izuku.

You finished quickly but you still sat there in each other's company for a few moments. Your hands still so close to his, grazing each other.

"Izuku," you said, to which he hummed. "Please don't get hurt anymore. You know I'll always be here to treat you, but that doesn't mean that you can depend on my quirk all the time. You can't keep getting hurt like this. If you haven't noticed I care about you, and I hate seeing you hurt," you admitted.

"I'd hate to see anyone hurt for that matter, but you especially," you pointed at him and placed your index finger on his chest.

"Please, just promise you won't get hurt anymore," you said with such a pure look in your eyes whilst his eyes locked with yours.

"Promise," he smiled and grabbed your hand in reassurance.

The kindness and warmth of his smile made you smile yourself, and blush at the trust and closeness you shared amongst each other.

Though your speech was full of heartfelt words, both of you knew, that this promise was far from being kept.
