Today was none other than your birthday, yet no one had even noticed you or the hints. letting out a grumble, you remembered Gen and Senku had sent you into the village to pick up a few things but Ruri had distracted you and well time flies and the next thing you knew the sun was setting. You held the heavy container in front of you, your arms were sore and you didn't have a cell in your body telling you that you weren't tired. Your eyebrows were knitted together in anger, you had realised something when you were with Ruri that the whole Kingdom of Science was ignoring you yet you couldn't figure out if you had done something. When you finally got back to the base, the observatory was just standing in front of you, placing down the container beside the ladder you began to climb up, opening the doors before slipping in quietly.

Senku, Chrome, and Kohaku were asleep on the floor yet you knew Senku wasn't sleeping. He didn't sleep on his side, he always slept on his back. You bent down beside Senku, patting his shoulder and whispered to him, "Senku, are you awake?" You asked yet you were met with silence from the boy. You stood up as tears began to fall to the ground below, you whipped away your tears, "Thanks for ignoring me on my birthday." You whispered in anger. You walked to the door before stepping down the ladder, as tears began to fall from your eyes as you heard Senku whisper your name from inside. You whipped a few of your tears away, behind you, you heard your name be called. You turned your head around to see Suika holding a cake to you and Gen holding flowers and a cola in his hand. "Happy birthday!" Suika giggled happily but that only made you cry harder, you watched Gen's face become unhappy.

Gen told Suika that he's taking you away, watching the melon girl disappear into the observatory Gen grabbed you by hand pulling you away until you reached a small isolated edge overlooking the night's sea. He pulled you down to sit with him, placing the wildflowers down. He handed the cola to you, popping the cap and took a small sip before it made your face twist. You didn't like the taste, it was too sweet for you and had an odd taste in all honesty. "I Thought you would like a surprise for your birthday, if I had known I would have never put you in the situation where you thought I would ignore you." You rubbed your eyes with one hand while holding the cola in the other.

"It wasn't your fault,-" he cut you off "No, all I wanted was everything to be perfect..." Gen began to ramble on as his thoughts made you smile, "Why did you want everything to be perfect?" You whispered still hearing him ramble on beside you. He stopped for a moment, "I-I just wanted things to be perfect because I love you." Gen whispered. Your smile stopped for a moment, you turned your head just as the boy stopped rambling his face grew red you learnt in slowly placing a kiss on his cheek before your eyes met "I love you two," the two of you looked away, your hands inching towards one another holding each other by the pinkies. A small smirk crossed your face, "I think the thing that would put the cherry on top of my birthday is our first kiss." Gen's face turned redder than before it reminded you of Senku's eyes which made you smile as you turned to stare at him. You two inched closer to one another, until he placed a hand on your cheek pulling you closer the two of you shared your first kiss under the stars. Gen pulled away from you smiling and it even had you smiling as well, your first kiss with Gen and probably not your last, you watched him gulp his cola down in glee, this wasn't a bad birthday after all.
