Batman finally arrived at his destination, a private island of the coast of Gotham. He suspected this was where all the kidnapped orphan children were and decided to investigate.

He stayed close to the shadows as he approached the building and sneakily entered. However, it was dead silent and the lights were flickering on and off. He kept walking and walking when his foot made contact with something.

It appeared that he has stepped on a small puddle of water, which was quite unusual.

'Why's there water when the building is far from the shore line?' Batman thought in curiosity.

He kept walking and walking until he caught a whiff of a familiar metallic scent. His eyes widened slightly as he turned to the next hallway to see multiple people in lab coats laid along the hallway, dead and bleeding. And mixed with the blood was some water.

He carefully walked around the dead bodies and followed the trail of the bodies lying around.

What puzzled him was, the only dead ones were scientists, from what he could tell. And he hasn't scene a single child, not even its corpse. All scientists. Of course he checked each room that he has seen so far but still, not a single child.

He eventually reached a room and saw a little girl that looked no older than 7 in the middle of it. Around her were more bodies and she was just playing with her little kitty plushie and singing Lavenders Blue.

Batman was in shock, why was there a little girl playing and singing in the middle of a room full of dead bodies. She couldn't possibly have done this could she?

The little girl had extremely long black hair that reached down at the floor and was let loose and wearing a plain white hospital gown. She had no shoes on and he couldn't see her eyes for they were covered by her bangs.

"Hello, Mister Batman." She finally said. Her voice sounded innocent but at the same time, broken.

Batman stayed silent as she continued playing with her kitty and not casting a single glance at him.

"If you're looking for the others, they aren't here anymore." She said.

"Then where are they?" He finally spoke.

"Nowhere." She answered and Batman furrowed his eyebrows. "Most of them were failed experiments. You know what they do to things that are a failure right? They get rid of them. I'm the only one left."

"Did you kill all these scientists?"

"Yes. I didn't mean to. I was scared. Angry. Frustrated. Confused. And when they said they were gonna do something to me...I snapped." She finished with a broken laugh.

Batman stayed still for a moment before carefully approaching her and crouched down in front of her.

"Let's go." He carefully held a hand out to her.

She carefully looked up to reveal her clear blue eyes that was as clear as the sky without clouds. She carefully reached her hand out and hesitated for a moment before finally deciding to grab it.

He pulled her up and she held his hand as he walked to the bat wing. She went outside for the first time ever and looked at the sky in awe.

"Those're stars? Pretty." She said in awe.

"You've never been outside?" Batman asked her as they walked to the bat wing and she shook her head.

"Most of the children with me were here since a very young age. Most of us have never even seen the outside world." She explained and Batman nodded in understanding.

They arrived on the bat wing and the girl let go of Batman's hand and floated to the passenger's seat of the bat wing. Batman jumped in and they prepared for the flight back to Gotham.

The little girl was looking around in awe at the view from the bat wing. Bruce looked at her and wondered, 'How long has she been sheltered in there?'

They eventually reached Gotham city and he flew through the waterfall and he landed on the platform. The hatch of the bat wing opened and Batman jumped out while Vivian floated out and landed. She glanced around in awe and started running around while giggling. Occasionally, talking to her kitty plushie.

Batman watched as she walked around in awe and occasionally talked to her plushie.

"Found another child, Master Bruce?" Alfred walked in with a tray of jasmine tea.

"She was the last survivor. Apparently no one was allowed outside that building and they were only targeting orphans." Batman responded.

"Who are you?" The two jumped as a voice came form behind Alfred. They didn't notice her coming near them.

Alfred turned around and smiled his usual smiled at the young maiden. "Hello, I am Alfred Pennyworth. Pleasure to meet your acquaintance Miss..." He trailed off but neither him, nor Batman knew her name.

"No name." She said and looked down in sadness, squeezing her plushie tighter. "Only experiment number."

"Oh." The two said and looked at each other.

"Then why don't we pick a name for you." Batman said and crouched down in front of her making her look up at him.

"Pick a name?" She asked and tilted her head to the side in confusion.

"Yes. Now then, anything you suggest?" Batman asked her and she shook her head.

"Alfred?" They looked at the butler.

"I would like to suggest...Vivian Amor." He said and the girl's face lit up.

"Well then." Batman turned to look at the girl. "You like that?"

'Vivian' nodded her head with a bright smile.

"Alright then Vivian." Batman removed his mask. "My name's Bruce Wayne."

He held out his hand and Vivian smiled and took his hand and shook it.

Since that day, Vivian started going around under the name Alfred and Bruce have given her. Since Bruce was able to forge documents about her, no one suspected why she was living in Wayne Manor.

They cut her extremely long hair to reach a bit below her shoulders in a layered manner. They tied one side of her hair a bit and clipped her fringe to the side.ย  They also gave her a fresh set of clothes which mostly consisted of blue, black, and white.

She started taking ballet lessons due to Bruce's recommendation, once he saw her flexibility, and ice skating due to her ballet instructor's recommendation.

She started skating competitively and enrolled in Gotham Academies home school program because of her training.

Of course, during competitions and practice, she would wear a special watch Bruce created for her.

Her watch allowed her to restrict her powers and give her a taste of being a normal girl so her powers wouldn't aid her. Of course they disguised it as just a normal fancy watch so no one would be suspicious when she wore it on competitions.

She's also learning how to cook and bak.

She also took an interest in herbs so Bruce had a greenhouse constructed and planted an herb garden for Vivian inside of it. Occasionally, when she had time, she would help Alfred with the chores or hang out with Dick, who she later met after a few months of staying in the Wayne manor. She also later met the rest of the previous Robins.

Basically, her life went from torturous to lively. And she couldn't ask for more.
