body was made ー oikage (happy pride)

Camilla Oikawa-Kageyama was born a girl. He was born out of a one night stand to teen parents and as a result became an foster kid very early in life.

He doesn't remember much of his life in the foster world.

One thing he remembers as clear as sunlight is the day he was adopted by his two dads. He was probably about 6 or 7. He was playing with his set of legos when two people sat near him in one of the toddler chairs. He looked up to one of the deepest of blue eyes he's ever seen with one of the warmest of browns.

He was taken by them that very moment and a weeks later became one of them as they became his fathers.

Oikawa Tooru and Kageyama Tobio.

His parents.

His whole world.

He would never say this out loud but he loved his Papa and Dad more than anything else. From the second they met him, they gave him all the love and care any child can ask for.

They aren't perfect of course. With Dad's weird obsession of making the whole family drink milk daily and Papa's all day antics and much more.

He wouldn't change any of it at all though.

"Camie! Dinner time, sweetie!" he heard Papa call him from downstairs. He sighed before yelling a quick reply before making his way down too.

His parents have always been supportive. Maybe over supportive if he counts that time he wanted to get a Harry Potter tattoo. Thank God Dad was the voice of reason.

So he decided to just do it quickly. Like rip off a bandaid quick. It'll either go north or very south.

He's gonna come out.

"Something wrong Mimma?" his dad asked and he tried his hardest to not stiffen at the name. He could feel the amount of affection in every name his Dad gave him. His awkward-and-hardspoken-but-never-ever-towards-him Dad.

"You have been quiet for a while now kiddo. I almost i somehow found your off button." Papa joked but he could radiates the Dad worry™ too.

"If anyone needs an off button it's you Pops." he rolled his eyes at the offended noises he received. He ate the chocolate ice cream he stole from the former.

"You're avoiding us." Dad stated and this was one of the many times he appreciated his straightforward behavior. He put down his bowl.

"I... I actually wanna talk about something." he said as his Papa stopped his pseudo tantrum and looked at him with a warm smile and open face.

He heard about his Pop's reputation as sharp and above-all shenanigans from Uncle Iwa. Hell he's heard about how people literally piss their pants with just words from him. Yet he's always nice and warm to him.

It makes him happy.

"Go ahead." his dad smiled at him.

His Uncle Shou always told him that his Dad was a grump. He didn't understand it when he was younger. At least not until he started attending games that he understood how. His Dad was always poker faced and glares whenever he was out in the public eye. But that day when he first attended his match, his Dad's eyes found him in the wild crowd and flashed him the same smile reserved for him and only him.

It really makes him happy.

... And he doesn't want to lose that.

What if they don't like him anymore? He wouldn't be able to live without them like that. Would they hate him? God he hopes they never hate him. How will they react? What will he do if they don't react well?

Too many questions.

He could just... suppress it? Will that work? He feels awful in his body. So out of place. It's like living inside someone who isn't you and you don't know how to be yourself.

It sucks. It sucks really bad.

Why is she like this?

Before he could spiral more, he was broken out of it by same deep blues and warm browns from years back.

"Hey birdie. You know you can tell us anything right?" Papa smiled as Dad mirrored his expression.

He really loves them.

He should just bite the bullet.

"I think I am a boy." he said as he quickly looked down not wanting to see their expressions.

It was silence.

Neither of them were talking.

Why aren't they talking?

Did he really fuck it up?

"Hey hey. We can hear the gears up there. Stop thinking. Stop. It's a no thinking zone now." his Papa said as he moved to sit beside him. Same with Dad.

"Can you elaborate on that kiddo?" Dad asked rubbing down his arms in a comforting manner.

Huh?

They aren't mad?

"I am not a girl Dad. I.. am a boy. I wanna be one." he spilled out as he kept looking at both of their faces for disappointment or sadness.

But there was none.

"You mean you're trans sweetie?" Papa asked him while slowly patting his hair down.

He has never said it out loud. Maybe online but he's never said it to anyone loudly. He never thought about coming out to anyone before his parents. This will be the first time he'll utter it out.

There he goes.

"I am trans." he whispered but he was still audible.

Now he's done it.

"Congrats love."

Eh?

He was suddenly engulfed in a tight hug by both his parents who were smilingー well his Papa was grinningー and looked really.. happy?

"We are so proud of you sweetheart." his Dad said kissing his head.

"You are?" he asked slowly.

"Of course! This is such a big occasion too! Oh my God we should celebrate. Would you like some cake?" Papa was practically vibrating with excitement while Dad rolled his eyes in fondness.

"Wait first Tooru. We should talk about it some stuff first." the raven chided still hugging him.

"We could talk while eating cake you know?"

"No."

"Tobio chan!"

"Again, no."

"Ugh."

"Moving on," Dad said practically cuddling him. "What do you want to change right now honey?" he was still in a slight daze when he realized his Dad was talking to him.

"Um. I don't. I mean. I think I would like masculine pronouns. And my name. I don't know. Can I... ask something?" he sat up as his Papa sat down again. Both of them listening intently.

"Aren't you both mad?" he asked softly looking down.

"All the best people arー Ow Tobio chan! I was just joking! Cammie! What would we be even mad about? We aren't homophobic and definitely not transphobic. Like have you seen me and your Dad? We are literally so gayー Ouch! Tobio!" his Papa yelped as his Dad bonked his head again. He couldn't help letting out a small giggle.

"Have we ever made you.. feel like you couldn't come to us sweetie...?" his Dad asked and he could see the insecurity in his tone and eyes.

This isn't right.

"No! No way! I just. It's not anything either you two did. It's just, you adopted a girl you know. You both wanted a girl. And I'm.. not." he ended trying to gesture it with his hands.

"Oh tesoro. We didn't choose you because you were a girl." his Papa hugged him tightly again.

"We choose you because when we first met you. You looked at us like we hung the entire universe for you."

"We fell in love with the little kid who put so much trust and wonder in a single glance that it blew us away." his Papa finished as he felt the tell tale of tears in his eyes and heavy, heavy throat.

"Fuck." he cried.

He cried a lot. He cried out of relief. He cried out of gratefulness. He cried out of happiness. And most importantly he cried out of love for his parents.

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." he kept repeating himself as his parents just sat there hugging him and whispering reassuring words.

"Hey no more tears now. We got a lot of celebrating to do. Oh! We should all definitely go to pride together. I should get matching family t shirts for us all." his Papa exclaimed going on a brief list of plans.

"Ugh Pops. Don't be so extra." he laughed, his voice still wet from crying.

"Why not? Sounds like a good idea." Dad said but he could tell he was trying not to laugh too.

"Dad! Don't enable him! Who knows what he'll do." he snickered at the look on his Pop's face.

"Such betrayal! I shan't taketh ith." the brunette made a dramatic falling gesture as he fell on top of both him and Dad.

"Tooru! Get up before we kick you off."

"Pops get off! You're so heavy! And smelly."

"Cammie! Rude!"

Dad finally managed to push him off as he got up and pulled him to sit on another couch leaving his Papa on the floor. He was laughing really hard now that he could feel his stomach hurt.

"Feeling better now?" Dad asked while they watched his Papa's dramatics.

"Yeah. I thought you guys would hate me for being a boy." he admitted as his Pop's sat beside his leg and looked offended.

"Kiddo! Why would you think that? I'd love you even if you were an alien." Papa said as both him and his Dad snorted.

"Of course you'll love me if I was an alien. You'd love me more even." he rolled his eyes as Dad snickered.

"I'll love you most no matter what." Papa smiled as his Dad gave a glare at the word most.

"Oh? What if I became a flat earther?"

"Now that's pushing the line a tad bit."

They were all laughing again as he felt so warm and safe inside. He really loves his parents.

"I love you guys." he smiled.

"We love you too Mimmo."
