Resentments

Queens, NYC.

As the moon hung high in the night sky, "Hey, Felicia." Peter called out as he landed softly behind her. She turned to face him, her emerald eyes locking onto his masked gaze.

"Spider-Man, what a surprise," Felicia replied, her voice laced with a hint of amusement. "Sorry to cut this short, but I have a job interview to attend."

Peter's eyes narrowed beneath the mask as he reached out to web Felicia, pinning her against the wall. "You're not going anywhere until you tell me where our child is and why you kept them away from me," he demanded, his tone firm.

Felicia struggled against the webbing, a mixture of annoyance and defiance on her face. "Oh, Spider, always so eager to play the hero," she taunted. "Don't worry, I'll tell you where he is. He's at home, probably doing his homework, going through some... strange changes."

Peter's grip on his web shooters tightened, a flood of emotions surging within him. "Changes? What kind of changes?" he asked, concern seeping into his voice.

Felicia hesitated for a moment before continuing, "He might be turning into Spider-Man, or he might not. It's hard to say, but I thought it was best to keep him away from this world."

"You should have told me," Peter said, his voice tinged with hurt. "I would have been there for both of you."

Felicia shifted uneasily, her eyes darting away for a moment before meeting his gaze directly. Her voice was soft, tinged with sadness as she finally confessed, "I was mad, Peter. I was mad at you for never understanding, for never seeing what was right in front of you."

Peter's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "What do you mean?"

"I wanted you, Peter. All those years ago, I wanted you, and I gave you every hint I could think of, but you were always so focused on Mary Jane."

Peter's heart sank as he realized the truth of her words. Memories flooded his mind - all the times he had been oblivious to Felicia's subtle advances, her attempts to win his heart. He had been so caught up in his love for Mary Jane that he never considered the possibility that someone else was longing for him.

"I never meant to hurt you, Felicia," Peter's voice wavered with remorse. "I had feelings for Mary Jane, but I didn't know that you felt the same way about me."

Felicia's eyes softened, and she shook her head, "I don't blame you, Peter. I don't blame you for falling in love with Mary Jane. She's amazing, and you two are perfect together."

Peter's heart ached at the pain in her voice, the weight of unspoken emotions that had built up over the years. He wanted to reach out, to comfort her, but he knew that words alone wouldn't heal the wounds of the past.

"I want to be there for our child, Felicia," Peter said earnestly. "I want to be a father, to make up for lost time."

Before Felicia could respond, Peter's spider sense tingled, warning him of imminent danger. Reacting instinctively, he pushed Felicia off the wall and leaped after her. In mid-air, he shot a web to catch her, swinging them both to safety just as a bullet grazed the spot where she had been.

Breathing heavily, Felicia looked at Peter, realizing the gravity of the situation. "You saved my life," she whispered, a mix of shock and gratitude in her eyes.

"Of course, I did," Peter replied, his voice softened. "No matter what's happened between us, I still care about you, Felicia."

As they landed on a nearby rooftop, Felicia couldn't help but recall the memories of their past—partners in crime and occasional adversaries. Peter interrupted her thoughts, his voice steady, "Who's after you, Felicia?"

She looked at him with a blank expression, "I don't know. It could be Kingpin, but I left that life behind when I was pregnant."

Peter's tone turned serious, "Felicia, you can't live alone with our child. It's too dangerous."

Felicia scoffed, "And what do you suggest? Moving in with you and your wife?"

Peter paused, contemplating his response. "Actually, that's not a bad idea. We could protect each other, and he needs to know his father."

Felicia's eyes widened at the suggestion, "You're asking me to live with you and Mary Jane?"

Peter nodded, "Yes, we could be a family, just like we once dreamed."

Felicia's resistance softened, but she shook her head, "I can't, Peter. It's not that simple."

"Please, Felicia," Peter pleaded, "You don't have to be alone in this. Let us help you."

As if a switch had been flipped, Felicia's eyes glinted with mischief, and she began to run. A chase ensued across the rooftops, with Peter pursuing her relentlessly. He webbed her, attempting to stop her from fleeing.

In a desperate attempt to escape, Felicia looked into his eyes, and her eyes flashed with a mesmerizing charm. Peter's heart sank, knowing what was about to happen. Before he could react, a truck suddenly rammed into him, sending him flying, and giving Felicia a chance to vanish into the darkness.

As he lay on the ground, shaken from the impact, Peter couldn't help but feel a mix of frustration and compassion for Felicia. He knew that their paths would cross again, and he was determined to protect her and their child from whatever darkness lurked in the shadows.

After the heartfelt dinner at home, Peter couldn't shake off the thoughts of Felicia and their child, Y/N. The weight of the revelations weighed heavily on his mind, but he found solace in Mary Jane's warm embrace as she welcomed him with a kiss.

Seeing the sadness in his eyes, Mary Jane gently asked, "What happened, Peter? You look troubled."

Peter took a deep breath and began to recount in detail everything that had transpired during his meeting with Felicia. He spoke about their child, Y/N, the suspicions of powers similar to Spider-Man's, and the looming threat of Kingpin.

Mary Jane listened intently, her concern evident as she grasped the gravity of the situation. "Oh, Peter, that's a lot to take in. Do you think Y/N really has powers like you?"

Peter nodded solemnly. "I'm not sure, MJ, but Felicia seemed convinced that he might be turning into something like me. We need to find out more."

Without hesitation, Mary Jane suggested, "We need to bring Felicia and Y/N here, Peter. They're not safe, and Kingpin is dangerous. We can't take this lightly."

Peter nodded in agreement, appreciating Mary Jane's unwavering support. "You're right. I'll talk to Felicia, and we'll figure out a plan to keep them safe."

Their focus shifted to their son, Ben, who came running to greet his father. "Dad, you're back!" he exclaimed, wrapping his arms around Peter.

Peter ruffled Ben's hair affectionately. "Hey there, buddy. I missed you."

As they sat down for dinner, Ben animatedly shared stories from his day at school, including one about a boy named Hardy who bravely stood up against a bully. Peter and Mary Jane exchanged a knowing look at the familiar name.

Curious, they asked Ben about this boy. "Do you know how to contact him?" Peter inquired.

Ben thought for a moment before shaking his head. "I don't, Dad. But I can show you where he hangs out at school tomorrow!"

Mary Jane smiled warmly at their son. "That would be great, Ben. We'd love to meet this boy you're talking about."

"Sure, I can do that," Ben replied with enthusiasm. "But why do you want to meet him?"

Peter hesitated, not wanting to burden Ben with their complicated past. "He might be the son of an old friend, and I just want to catch up with him."

Meanwhile, at Felicia's house, mother and son sat down for dinner. Y/N enthusiastically talked about school, mentioning how lucky he felt to be in the same school as Captain America's son, James. As they chatted, Felicia noticed the bruises on Y/N's nose and chin, the result of standing up against a bully at school.

Concerned, she gently touched his injuries. "What happened, sweetie?"

Y/N tried to change the subject, not wanting to worry his mom. "It's nothing, Mom. Just a little accident at school."

Felicia's brow furrowed with worry. "Y/N, you can't keep things from me. I want to know if you're hurt."

Feeling guilty for keeping his fight a secret, Y/N sighed. "Okay, fine. I stood up to a bully today, and he got mad."

Felicia's expression softened as she looked at her son. "I'm proud of you for standing up for yourself, but please be careful, okay? I don't want you getting hurt."

Y/N nodded, feeling a mix of pride and relief at his mother's approval. "I will, Mom. I promise."

Felicia continued to tend to his injuries, a mixture of scolding and concern in her voice. "You need to be safe, Y/N. I can't bear the thought of anything happening to you."

Y/N's heart warmed at his mother's love and worry. "I know, Mom, and I'll be careful. I promise."

As he finished helping his mom with the dishes, Y/N went outside to throw the garbage. As he swatted away a bothersome fly, he was surprised to discover a newfound strength in his arms. With an unintended show of force, he accidentally flung the garbage bag up to the top of a 15-story building.

Bewildered, he looked at his hands in shock, wondering how this incredible power had emerged within him. The revelation left him both amazed and anxious about what it all meant.
