Chapter 19

''Willy, Willy, Willy.'' she whispered nervously reciting the name over and over again tapping her foot on the car's floor mat with her hands thrumming her lap softly.

''Hey Liv she's here. She's safe.'' he reassured. He did not know what to do. She was scaring him more than the man had done to her.

''Willy, Willy, Willy,'' she enumerated once more. Her mother did not care to inquire about the situation at hand. She sat behind her uttering no words of comfort as though she admired the sight before her. Olivia wanted her now more than ever but she did not respond.

''Olivia blink!'' he fervently asked. She kept drumming her foot on the mat and her hand on her lap systematically. She smelt horrible. Blood plopped from her damp Afro-hair onto the white t-shirt filling up with blood.

''Willy, Willy, Willy. Willy!'' she called out louder startling them for it was out of the blue. Her eyes were wide open as though she had seen a ghost.

''I'm here Olivia,'' answered Willy taking Olivia's hand into her own. Benita sat still and silent. She did not want to take any action. She did not care.

''We are gonna turn here, there is a lodge down this road. You all need to rest. Olivia? Everything is alright okay.'' This time he held her other hand pressing it onto her lap and stop reciting for a full minute but continued again.

''Willy, Willy...'' she recited again and again with a much fainted voice. Willy tried so hard to comfort and calm her but no one could.

At the Omadu lodge and conference center's reception he did not take too much of the receptionist's time. He paid for the remaining three rooms available. There was a small campaigning business having a stay-in conference, most of their rooms were occupied. He was offered the best premium priced rooms and left to get his companions in the car. The receptionist did not inquire anything about the blood stains on his shirt and hands. She focused on his looks and nothing else.

''Would you like your dinner to be served in your rooms sir?''

''Yes thank you.''

Everyone else got out of the car except Olivia. She tapped and beat rhythmically on her lap. He had no choice but to carry her fatigued body in his arms after giving Willy the keys to their rooms. Benita had her own room and the girls shared theirs. They were not as impressive as the rooms back in the mansion. These were simple and lacked lavish furniture. He carried Olivia straight to the bathroom. He put her down on her feet and tested the light fall of water from the hand-held shower head which was compatible for both of them to wash the blood down the drain with their clothes on.

Olivia's body found balance onto his. He positioned her head onto his shoulders and took the shower head in his hand and used it to wash away the blood in her fine, wavy and coarse hair. Her hair was thicker and fuller than it looked in his hands. He washed it delicately. She kept silent during this vocation. She was not herself. Who would be after watching her own father try to take her life and pass out on-top of her?

''T..Toby?'' she struggled to say still laying her head on his shoulder.

''It's me love.''

''I can smell him.'' She cried her heart out.

She felt vulnerable and defeated. She had no home anymore. Olivia's desire for a full family was stolen away from her. She had knocked on that door of the so-called 'perfect family's house' hoping she would find a home feeling doubtless that she would not to be neglected. She wept gathering the little strength in her soul. Toby finished patting dry her hair with a body towel. He knew he had to bathe her. She hated the scent as much as he did. Here was the girl he was falling in love with crying on his shoulder. He instantly wished he hadn't just knocked her father out with the glass bottle but killed him instead.

''Don't move.'' He asked of her. He helped her remove her t-shirt and carried her to the small well padded bench near the bathroom door. He removed her jeans too and left her in her underwear and bra. She shivered in fear. He ran a warm bath and placed her in the tub.

He knelt outside the tub with the sponge in his hand and started to gently scrub her. He sponged her little fingers and arms. He proceeded to her neck where his love bites were replaced by the devil's imprinted hands. She let her tears run. His heart throbbed in pain. He removed the blood water from the tub and renewed it. This time he stripped her naked. He did not see anything because the water reached up to her neck and foam floating above it and was being careful not to do anything wrong.

''Love, everything is going to be okay. You have your sister now and I'm not going anywhere. I will always be here for you.'' He stands up to take the robe hanging behind the door. She still lacked motivation but managed to get into the robe and Toby's arms.

''Thank you,'' she whispered directly into his left ear whilst he carried her to the room to lay her down. Her eyes were shut and body loose. When he appeared in front of Willy he signaled she get straight into the bath so Olivia would not smell anything to remind her of this day.

A few minutes later he fed her and left to get himself clean and out his wet clothes in his own room. He gave both these siblings their space to bond and get a few misunderstandings out their way. It would have been a lot better if their mother had joined them to encourage motherly affection to her daughters.

Maybe I should stop looking at her now.

''Willy, Willy, Willy,'' she recited again and again.

''Lord protect her,'' she continued praying inwardly sitting on her bed next to the one of her sister.

Tap. Tap.

Blink. Blink.

Folding of hands.

Checking of the time. 0330 hrs.

Her elder sister moves peacefully in her sleep and faces directly at Olivia. This was her sister. She would not allow anyone to take her away. Her dearest illiterate sister.

{Knock}

''You alright?'' asks Toby noticing how agitated Olivia was. He was starting to regret why he left her in the first place. She was still up.

''He is gonna find us Toby. He will kill us!'' she panicked. The thought of her father coming after her like he did to her mother weakened her ability to think about anything else.

''My mother Toby! I need to talk to her. Move.'' He blocked her way.

''I need to tell you something.''
